Your thoughts on Spike being a Dog

Spike had to a Dog, if he was a child or CMC age kid, then you would get the miscommunication of him being "Twilights Son/Brother/Adopted child/etc".

 

Twilight is also a Dragon, and lets just use Twilight as well. Twilight turned into a human,she is a Pony. Spiked turned into a Dog, he is a Dragon. Perhaps that is the converstion rate when stepping through the portal.

 

Now lets use a third reason, this is a movie made for a younger age. Now while DHX and the writters have begun throwing us older crowd a bone with themes, one liners, etc. A dog works better into the mix as Twilights best friend, assistant etc. A child working as her assistant would be a refernce to lord and squire, or slave. etc.

 

Finally, the only reason Spike was there was to be the voice of reason, and to help us the fans work into the new universe, since Twi was being a big dumb doof most of the time.

 

Spike as a Dog is fitting, he is loyal, hard working, and quick to please.

Well I would rather have him become a dog then have him be a human. I probaly would of bursted out laughing when I saw him if he was going to become a human.

I found it pretty good to see Spike as a dog.  As a matter of fact, I actually thought Spike would be a human.

It was pretty cute. At least he wasn't human....since he's a baby dragon, what would he look like as an EQG baby...let alone how Twilight will explain she's not the mom....
