Tartarus the 500 pound gorilla in the living room

I know it's on a episode that not alot of people include as their favorite but it establishes a couple things.

On the show (at least as far as bad guys go) there's an after life.

This ones mostly funny, but seriously it's a good half hour to 2 hours away from town.  I mean twilight got there and back pretty  fast escorting cerbus.
Even if it was 4 hours there and 4 hours back (which the day was pretty young when twilight got back)

that's still only 4 hours to get to hell from town.  Think about that for a moment LOL.

4 hour trek, a ball and you two would be able to break into hell.  I mean you wouldn't want to, but you could.

So there's a supreme super max for evil souls.  Who runs that bad boy?

I mean is it luna?  I'd hate to think Tartarus was brought up once and dropped for all time, for the rest of the show.  I mean Disney used it.

And on top of that, there's one more valid point to be made.  Discord was never sent there.  It was never on the table?  Why?
Cause for all time he was never evil ^^.  (GAME SET MATCH!)

I feel like Tartarus may just be for hellish beasts, not sapient beings who can talk, ergo why Discord was never sent there. Though, in my opinion, he wouldn't be sent there simply because he's too powerul a being that's too interwoven with nature itself, being the embodiment of chaos and all. All that can be done to him is being turned to stone, it would seem, that's all.

I would enjoy seeing it pop up again but, who the hell knows. While the show is good on continuity on some small things, others, they never mention them again.

Interesting questions.  Tartarus makes sense as an afterlife for mortals (or ordinary ponies), but Discord is a demigod, so sending him there probably wouldn't be very effective.
