Every time you saw the familiar loop of handwriting on the paper, your heart looped right with it - for this was the most forbidden act. The act of writing. The act of reading.

When Twilight Sparkle used her powerful intellect to reveal treachery of Celestia and Luna against their people, there was the first-ever execution under their rule as they cried treason against the new Princess. For fear of this happening once more, they did the next best thing they could - they banned literature. A mass book burning swept the land. Words were destroyed. 

The fairly recent discovery of a way to project images using charged crystals (called television) has only become used for propaganda shows and advertisements, but you have never displayed interest in that sort of thing, have you? All you want back is your right to knowledge. And so it happened that one day, you found a letter under your door. It was the first time you had seen paper in months.

It turns out there are ponies like you. Ponies dissatisfied with the way that things are being run. Ponies calling for change in the rebellious manner of ink. And so the Initiative for New Kings (INK) was born. Through letters, you plan your treasonous acts...only to find that maybe, just maybe, something - someone - has poisoned the inkwell...

 

This RP will be told through a series of letters. Yes, that's right, you will be writing in letter form, though your OC's will be able to meet up and talk at a later point. Your posts can also show your character going through their daily life. However, some of the ponies will be traitors...but who?

 

I will post a short example of what I mean by the whole letter thing below.

 

 

She had never appreciated the way the pen danced across the page, she thought, as the ink, dark blue, rose and fell in neat, curvy lines across the twice-recycled parchment. Her signature finished in a pretty swish, and she eyed the finished work carefully.

 

Dear Thiedric,

I can't tell you when or where we can meet, because that would give away my location. I can, however, tell you that I hear a new bar is opening up in Trottingham called the Dancing Dragon. I can also tell you that I usually like to go to those sorts of places at around 8:00 p.m.

 

She smiled at this line, but her eyes continued to move downwards.

 

 

You get the idea. (Also I will likely use some of that post at some point in time, LOL.)

1. All species are permitted besides alicorns.

2. Up to three characters may be played.

3. If you wish to be a traitor, please PM me privately. If you openly express that you are a traitor, even when writing your OC's thoughts, I will remove you from the role-play. No one besides I and yourself must know. I have every right to disallow you from being a traitor.

4. Just checking! At the end of your post, put a picture of Rarity fighting a giant crab to show you've read the rules. Do it in spoilers.

5. Romance is permitted, but keep it PG and DO NOT allow it to dominate your character's actions.

6. Use at least decent grammar.

2. a brief paragraph (4-8 sentences) on why your character are betraying their leaders.

Melody Ink is betraying the rulers because she's always been a bit of a rebel at heart and is quiet fond of the written word.

I know you said that we need to put a picture of Rarity fighting a giant crab but I just joined and I have no idea how to do those kind of things. :/
