Night Blade watched as the mare walked off the ship. He felt sorry for her, but he should trust what he says. Seeing as no one else was talking to him, it was now time to let him know what he has done, "Captain, I went below deck to take a look at the condition of the cannons, they looked pretty beat up. I took the chance to modify them to make 'em last a lot longer and be more powerful. Would you like a demonstration?" Night Blade said, a smirk growing on his face

"I wouldn't do that if I were you" a mocking voice called from above. Black Heart leaped down from the mast of the ship, his fused jaws smiling eerily. "I already called the Master Gunner position" the devilish creature cackled. "Now, move it before I have to make you" Black Heart growled, shoving his face into Night Blade's.

"Aren’t we the same? You know, aren’t you carrying the same mindset as I am? Just because you couldn’t bear to lose, you lost your precious partner! You really call yourself a true duelist? You’re the complete opposite of that!" -Weevil Underwood

Razor Sharp did not notice the intruder who interrupted Night Blade and his mind was instead focused on Moon Wave. Did he force her away too harshly? Realistically speaking he couldn't expect a blind mare to aid his crew. But, he had made such friendships before and they weren't like fantasy novels that ended tragically. Razor Sharp looked across at Night Blade again and was forced to do something very un-captain like.

He ignored Night Blade and jumped from the ship. Using his pegasus wings to glide him to the dock, Razor Sharp landed in front of Moon Wave and the clop of his hooves stopped her in her tracks. Razor Sharp then looked down at her and spoke his mind.

"Listen, Moon Wave, I don't know what kind of stuff you're made of, but I've had blind ponies under my command before and I do not believe you will be the worst of them. If you can contribute, I could use another pair of hooves. If you really want to be apart of this voyage, you still have another few seconds to turn around and get back onboard. My offer stands!"

"Yes," Razor Sharp nodded. "Maybe it's time I told you the extent of my knowledge; how I found this coin and the thing itself that inspired me to undertake this quest. When I was a filly, I found this coin washed ashore near my sea-side home and kept it as a trinket. When I was older, the legend of the city of gold came to my knowledge and I discovered the coin itself happened to be minted by the same Ancient Ones who built that city. Only about five other such coins were ever discovered."   Razor Sharp paused for a moment before continuing. "The coin you have is two sided. The image on the front seems unimportant, but on the back is an accurate mold of the stars in the heavens. Me and a hoof full of experts believe that the stars printed on the back side of that coin are based on the constellations that the Ancient Ones saw when they looked up from one of their islands. Theoretically, we can find this same island by figuring out how the stars align and tracing them to their source. Since you are the navigator, the responsibility falls upon you to decipher this. Can you do it?"

Ocean pulled the coin out again and looked over it, a little more closely. "Interesting. I will do my best, according to my charts...we have a bit of a travel ahead of us." She said, before smiling and walking up to the helm, still inspecting the coin...when she bumped into Cascade. "Oops. Sorry Cascade." She said, catching the coin before it slipped off the edge of the ship.

Moon looked up, unable to see but listened to the very moving words of Razor Sharp.

After hearing everything, she wiped away a small tear and nodded with a smile. "I think I might be able to contribute to you well, whether it be for your personal pleasure all the way up to keeping our team in check. I'm a good sanity keeper, more or less. Something to do with magic, and my hooves..."

But she stopped herself and quickly turned around to get back onto the ship. She happily flew herself on and landed onto the deck, then got comfortable with the feel again. "Oh, and.... Captain. If you ever see a crescent moon, then please excuse me if I go outside to look up. That's the only time I can, well.. See. It lasts from 6PM to 6AM for three nights, and then I have to wait for another 27 days or so."

Razor Sharp watched Moon Wave fly onboard the ship and shook his head with amusement. What an interesting pony, he thought to himself.

But just as he was thinking that, something in the distance gave him reason for concern. Coming towards his ship from further down the dock was a band of ponies all wearing black jackets; the same as the bounty hunters who attacked earlier. But the bounty hunters were also accompanied by the local authorities, who all seemed to be friends with one another.

That was when Razor Sharp realized they had no more time left in this port. Quickly taking action like a captain should, he flew into the air and looked down upon his crew mates from above as he barked his first order to all of them. "Everypony, we have no time left to waste!" he instructed. "Leave port immediately and get us out to sea!"

Black Heart looked up in shock at the barked command. "Catch you later, loser" Black Heart snarled before scrambling up the mast to his hiding spot in the crow's nest. Black Heart felt bile rise up his throat as he prepared his vomit attack. A few seconds later, he opened his mouth and out shot a glob of acidic mucus, staining the docks.

Night Blade heard the Captains orders and flew up the mast to untie the sails. With the last one untied he flew back down and went below deck and started to open up the holes for the cannons to poke out of, just in case a ship awaited them when they left the port. "If any ships do come for us, they will be in for a big surprise." he thought to himself, his signature smirk making an appearance on his muzzle again.

Wind Whistle trotted on board just in time to see a villainous-looking creature spit vomit onto the deck from the crow's nest. The stuff absolutely stank and he crinkled his nose. "Oh, gross!" he complained. "It's people like you that make my job a lot harder." He didn't like the looks of this newcomer one bit. Or the smells. Or the sound of his voice. Okay, he'd admit it. He hated him on first sight. But he was quickly swept up in the action, grabbing a mop and wielding it like a sword.

He went below deck and started to open up the holes for the cannons to poke out of, just in case a ship awaited them when they left the port. "If any ships do come for us, they will be in for a big surprise." he thought to himself, his signature smirk making an appearance on his muzzle again.

"Out of the way, fool!" Black Heart snarled as he climbed his way to the lower decks. "I fire the cannons" the Jersey Devil hissed as he stepped in front of the cannons protectively. "Besides, you probably couldn't hit an Ursa Major anyway" Black Heart laughed as he pushed Night Blade away with his tail

Night Blade back-flipped in mid air and landed on all fours. "I wasn't going to fire them anyway, you freak. Just know this, the cannons can fire three times before they are needed to reload." He ran back up to the topside of the deck with his saddle bag on and awaited further orders.

"Hmm, impressive flip, you may be a fun sparring partner" Black Heart said, his tone changing considerably and becoming more cordial. "As for freaks, look who's talking Mister Magic Eye" the devil mocked, returning to his bad attitude quickly. Black Heart stuck his head through the port holes and continued coughing up globs of acidic mucus to keep the dock unsafe for any possible boarding parties

The Dark Fortune slowly pulled out of port, and not a moment too soon either. The bounty hunters and the authorities ran to the edge of the dock and weren't quick enough to catch the ship before she was out of reach. Even the pegasi didn't venture out; they by themselves wouldn't have been a match without backup. The Dark Fortune continued further and further out into open water until the port disappeared behind it and Razor Sharp was convinced no pony was following them. Relieved, he glided down onto the deck and inspected the damage. If these ponies were the crew he was going to have for the length of the voyage he needed to get them organized.

It wasn't long before Razor Sharp noticed the discolored spot on the deck. "Now where did that come from?" he asked himself.

Moon Wave hadn't done very much on the ship, but she braced for whatever was coming with a bucket. Once everything seemed clear, she set it down and heard her captain talking to himself. Curious she walked over to him. "Is there something wrong Captain Razor Sharp?"

Night Blade walked around the ship, inspecting it just to make sure that it was not damaged from the attacking ponies. When he saw that nothing happened, he trotted over to the captain to see that he is staring at a strange mark on the deck. He took it as nothing unless the captain said otherwise. Instead, he trotted to the bow of the ship, took out a cigarette, lit it and enjoyed the toxins entering his body.

Black Heart snorted as he walked up from the lower decks. "One of my vomit attacks must have gone awry, get the cleaner here, I won't clean that off" the devil grunted before curling up beneath the shade of the sail and spreading his wings to cool down. After all, this area was vastly hotter than the Everfree he was used to

"Who invited you on, anyway?" Wind Whistle demanded as he began using his makeshift weapon for its intended purpose. "I don't remember seeing you in the bar. What even are you?" He normally wasn't this snarly, but everything about this... creature put him off, not the least of which being the way he treated his friend.

Razor Sharp took notice of the creature for the first time and frowned with disgust. He couldn't raise his voice in protest. As much as he might have wanted to, a tiny hint of fear stopped him. What he was dealing with was no ordinary creature; not a pony, not a griffon...

It was something else entirely.

Some of the crew seemed to be looking Razor Sharp's way, wondered if Black Heart would actually be tolerated on this ship. But quite shockingly, instead of raising his voice or saying anything in protest, Razor Sharp walked away and didn't pay any mind to Black Heart. The captain said nothing and did nothing. Black Heart was allowed to have his way and that seemed that.

"Why should I waste my breath with scum like you?" the devil said dismissively from his position in the shade. "However, I do need someone to tell of my exploits, so I'll tell you" Black Heart said, briefly wincing as the light stung his sensitive eyes. "I, Black Heart, the Lord and Master of All Evil Dragons, was called to this ship by Razor" Black Heart said, flaring his wings to emphasize his point. "He said that there would be unworthy scum to kill on this trip, so I joined" Black Heart finished, tendrils flowing from his body in an attempt to look more intimidating. "Anyway, get back to cleaning, whatever your name is" Black Heart grunted before returning to the shade of the sail

@,

Wind Whistle did not notice the Captain's reluctance to deal with the creature. He was having a bad day. He had been thrown against a wall and left for dead not yet an hour ago, and now some sort of dragon freak was trying to bully him. He wasn't going to stand for this. "Oh really? How do we know that you're not one of them?"

Night Blade sat at the bow of the ship, smoking his cigarette, listening to the banter between Wind Whistle and Black Heart. He sighed and shook his head, everyone needed to get along if they were to survive the Cascade Sea. "Hey Wind, Come over here for a second, i want to talk to you!" He called out to the crews cabin colt

Ocean placed the coin in her bag and pulled out her maps as she walked back over to the mast, not noticing anything happening on the deck of the ship as she continued to study her maps.
She put them away before she began climbing up to the crows nest where she pulled her maps (And the coin) out again, rolling them out on the small table and pulling out a quill, looking everything over, occasionally looking back up at the land in the distance.
She'd always look back down at her maps and continue to write.
A few minutes later, she finished and smiled, rolling them up and slipping them into her bag before pulling out her journal and kicking back in the small crows nest, scribbling some things down in her journal.

@,

Wind Whistle was brought back from his fuming and ranting when he heard Night Blade telling him that he needed to talk. "I'll get back to you later," he promised Black Heart. He set the mop aside and walked to Night Blade. "What is it?" he asked rather testily.

Razor Sharp was taken aback by the words Black Heart spoke. Had he, indeed, invited this creature onboard. He couldn't recall. At the minute, he had other things on his mind; other problems that concerned him more. He approached Night Blade and felt now was the perfect time to tell him something very important. When the captain was out of ear shot of everypony else he whispered to his boatswain something important that couldn't wait.

@

"Night Blade, it might be important to tell you this," he began. "The Dark Fortune has had a grand total of twenty five boatswains in the time I've had her. You should maybe know, there is a flaw in the ship's design. At the base of the main mast there is a weak support that no boatswain or carpenter has ever been able to fix. They say it's cursed and I'm almost afraid I believe the rumors. Every attempt to fix it ends in despair, but you need to be aware of this. Our ship has a weakness and I can't let it be exploited. Even if maybe it's beyond repair can I trust you to keep this to yourself and only anypony else who absolutely has to know?"

Night Blade nodded as his captains words. When Wind Whistle trotted up to him, he put his full attention to the young colt

@@Flicker,

"It's good that you can stand up for yourself, but having no way to defend yourself can end pretty badly" Night Blade chuckled "I may not be the greatest fighter, but i can teach you some moves that can help you last longer in combat. Why don't you go around to everypony on this ship and ask them to teach you some of their moves." he took another long drag of his cigarette before he continued to speak. "When you are done, come back to me and i will give you a reward."

Just as Night Blade finished his sentence, Black Heart walked out of his position in the shade. "Want to spar? I promise to hold back my full strength" Black Heart asked Night Blade, tail flicking with excitement. "I can tell from your attitude that you've been holding back this entire trip, perhaps to a half, maybe even a third of your true strength" Black Heart growled, hoping he'd be able to bluff the pony successfully. "Even with that in mind, I estimate that a quarter of my strength will suffice to defeat you" Black Heart lied, knowing perfectly well that holding back would be stupid.
