Sorry Swiggly, didn't get online to reply very quickly, but here's a quick catch-up:

 

Savoba (The antagonist) has made his move, announcing to the hotel that they had a challenge for intruding on his swamp:  Survive until morning.  After making his announcement and disappearing, a group of fish monsters (which I'm referring to as Murlocs, for a lack of a better term) rose out of basement and dragged away Mr. Silver.

 

Now the characters are kinda fleeing from the basement / trying to group up.  Safety in numbers, after all!

Everything Savoba had said was broadcast through the hotel courtesy of a spell, but Swiggly can very easily still be unaware of it.  Savoba has a terrible accent, and he could very easily have not understood him / assumed it was all some kind of joke.

 

After all, a disembodied voice making threats that can barely be understood isn't all that much of a reason to be concerned without having seen what happened...

Is Savoba supposed to be speaking like he's Creole?

 

Gonna be honest - I don't know what Creole would sound like.  Keep in mind I've nearly failed every geography class I've taken though XD

 

Savoba's character is loosely based off of one of my troll druids from World of Warcraft, so I was kind of trying to mimic their accent.  They generally have an Islander kind of sound to their speech.  I may not be on the mark very well though

It's been ages since i played that... I'd describe their accent as 'stereotypical Jamaican voice, after smoking far too much'

I tend to play it off and on, hehe.  Been on it quite a bit since the fall semester ended, though I'm kinda burnt out on it until a new patch or expansion pack comes out.  Honestly if it wasn't for Roleplay servers I'd have quit a couple expansions ago though XD

I started back in vanilla - last raid i reached was firelands. Never maxed my level in Pandas - was sick of the community going further and further downhill by then.

Understandable, I rarely interact with anyone outside of my guild unless I have to.  It's tough finding regular people to play with...  Don't get me started on raid finder.

 

I started about a week before burning crusade came out - technically in vanilla, but not long XD  I'd wanted to start a lot sooner than that but our old dial-up connection couldn't handle it.  By the time we got something better it was too late

I played a Ret pally in BC and I did it damn well! Took great delight in joining groups, getting laughed at and then topping the dps

 

Ret was broken and way too powerful in wrath... so I became a tank and healer. At the same time. As Ret. Pally's are awesome.

Hehehe, I've maxed out every class so far except mage (Working on that one still), my main's a druid tank though.  I love bear form.  Though, here lately my warlock has been getting a lot more attention than he has.  I think it's a safe bet that she's become my new main...

Ah I used to play WoW. It was fun...until they changed the talent trees. I started a few weeks or months after the Burning Crusade came out. Played a Blood Elf pally (All three, I'd respec as needed) and combat rogue. Was a ton of fun. 

 

Anyway, Creole is a language that seems to be a mix of French, African and English and is spoken by a decent portion of people who immigrated from Jamaica, Haiti and other places. People with the right thickness of their accent talk kind of like Savoba does (When they speak English)
