Drawings of mine, and yours

I shall post my drawings, and someday far far from now, I hope to have some time to make more :) In the meantime, you all can post as many of your drawings as you wish :)

This was my first, I traced the outlines because I have no good way to erase, I'm open to suggestions :)

Then I drew these... Still tracing though...

I drew Little Dashie being born, on a grid without tracing smile.png  Got these from frames of the show img-1379355-5-xtWXQl1.png

And lastly, my doodles... Probably shows what goes through my mind, loltongue.png

Yeah, oops, here are the doodlesderpy_emoticon2.png

Tracing is indeed a great way to learn how to draw and can be quite fun but beware to not rely solely on it for it can severely restrict you.  Half the fun of drawing is creating something truly your own, with your own poses, expressions and other such details.  If erasing is an issue, drawing in your initial sketch lightly (either by using less pressure or by using a harder leaded pencil) would be a good start.  Once you have that phase competed, you can then go in and darken any lines and details you wish to keep and erase the lighter lines that are not necessary, making for a cleaner picture.

As for the pieces you have here, they are quite nice and a very good start (albeit quite small and hard to look at closely).  Though I am quite curious as to why Rainbow's face is so much darker in the first picture than the rest of her body and Rainbow's legs also seem slightly off in the second picture (otherwise both are nicely done). Twilight, however, seems just about perfect to the show and looks quite adorable.

Keep up the good work and I hope to see more from you soon.  Have fun!

My first drawing, I tried to fill in the pencil gaps with marker, but sharpies didn't work, lolderpy_emoticon2.png ... For the Twilight, I actually traced her face from a frame, then tore around the face to make it rigid, and drew the rest. Then I put it in front of an orange screen I made with my paint tool, and took a picture smile.png ... My 2nd Dash I made to see how even I could make her look, without any kind of blending or smoothing... I can't believe I've never had an art classsad.png  ... Maybe I'll get to take a class in collageimg-1379355-5-xtWXQl1.png  1.6/8= 20% cooler wacko.png ... I like these face thingies happy.png vsTALhM.png ... Dash looks like the squirting turtle pokemon dry.png = only 0.6 coolnesses

And Little Dashie is a little darker because she got to where she's standing faster than the speed of light, so the light has just started to reflect off of her in the direction of my mind img-1379355-5-xtWXQl1.png

Looking good. You might want to check this out if your just starting and looking to break away from tracing. Equestrian daily has a nice comprehensive group of articles on drawing ponies (though the art theory can be imposed into other things): http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/01/pony-drawing-guides.html

Always happy to help new artists with question too.
