3 Seasons = 1 year?

id like to think its more than just a year, we never saw Mrs. Cake pregnant, so at least 9 months have gone by, plus another 3 months for them to be the age they were in that episode, that alone is 12 months

 

 

They never stated when Mrs. Cake was pregnant though, there's a possibility that she was pregnant before the show even aired, or she was pregnant the whole time.

 

Anyways, it cant be just a year, there's been 2 winters already, then again, who can understand how things work in Equestria

Hmm.  I always thought it was 18 months to two years myself.  But considering how some comic continuities have a sliding time scale, it's not impossible for 65 episodes to fit into a span of a year.  It would take a real creative effort, and some overlapping at times, to put them all into a logical chronological order.  If it's even possible. 

 

On the one hand, this isn't the Simpsons which is essentially timeless.  But this isn't an anime where things happen in a strict order with a clear passage of time either.

I think it took more than 1 year, it was probably about 18 months each. Since, it takes more than just 1 year to fit enough episodes for each season respectively.

That could be, maybe Luna ways kept out of the way and for some reason she got involved. Again, Twilight is the bridge between day and night. ?

It has no real "order" to its stories, they just are.

Actually, they still kinda refere to each other. Not directly (mostly) but in secondary details.

There are allways new things established in many episodes, like new character, new pet, those dresses for GGG and so forth. After they are established, they start to appear in further episodes. Which provides us some sort of chronological order.

Well we do have at least one other time point. 

 

In episode 2/10 Spike had his FIRST birthday in Ponyville.  This means that all of the episodes from 1/1 through 2/10 must be in a single year(likely significantly less than).

 

We know that the summer sun was an anniversary so it is some specific number of years.  I used to think the series was 4 years in length but now I think it is more likely two.

If more than a year passed, then how come there was only one Hearths Warmings Eve, Running of the leaves, Winter Wrap up, Summer Sun Celebration? I honestly think that It was only one year. Maybe Mrs. Cake was pregnant but we never saw, and besides an episode with newborn babys that cant crawl or do really anything wouldn't be very exciting.

Well 2 Winter's have gone by (3 if you consider the comics as canon) so it's doesn't make sense to have only been a year.

Totally agree, besides there are a lot of episodes where we can see a big time jumps (for example the episode where Pinkie is a babysitter, or episode where Applejack didn't want to return into Ponyville) So one year it's too little time for all events of the three seasons. I am new to this community and I initially believed that the pony is higher beings live for centuries, and the time is almost no power over them :-)

They probably skipped over the first Hearths Warming, the second Running of the Leaves, the second Winter Wrap Up, and the second Summer Sun Celebration. Just because we don't see them onscreen doesn't mean they didn't happen.

It is hard to tell with this show has gone by for in terms of the amount of time that has passed. My guess would have to be around a year and a bit more but honestly I do not really know. The timing in equestria could be way off according to our time but then again it is hard to tell.

Lesson Zero. Twi says that every week she sent Celestia a friendship report. So from S1:E2 to S2:E3 was about 6 months. Other than the story arcs, it's best to presume that each episode doe chronicle a week in Equestria. Roughly 15 months seems accurate.

My thought on this is perhapse their thought of a year is different from ours. In transformers, a Solar Cycle (cybertronian year) is 1.6 earth years. Perhaps the same can be said here.
