~~~Introductions~~~
Hello, and Welcome to another RP hosted by yours truly, BlackShardNixium. Since you’re reading this, I should hope that means you are interested in becoming a part of the story! Asylum: Stage One ((AKA Shudder)) is only the first in a trilogy of Roleplays. The storyline was crafted by my love of the arcane, as well as heavily influenced by the works of H.P Lovecraft and the popular podcast Welcome to Night Vale. Unlike most of my other RP’s, there won’t be a set player limit. I will allow people to apply for a period of a week and a half to two weeks, or until I feel we have enough to get started. Any one person can have multiple characters involved, or stick with just one. Enjoy!



~~~The Setting~~~
It’s so dark here. The shadows are so real. You suppose you just haven’t taken the time to ever really look at a shadow until now. You’ve never really peered into the darkness and witnessed the suffocating, writhing presence of nothing. Looking into a shadow is like gazing into a void; a void in which no god, no celestial creator, has ever touched. It’s like gazing into a jagged tear in reality; in which nothing has ever existed: not even death, not a single atom. In the shadows you are numb; emotionless. Yet you remember. You were here for a reason…but what?
It was…an expedition! Wasn’t it? There were others with you...Friends? You suppose. Where are they? Where had they gone? You remember…fear. Absolute panic.
Images are flashing in your mind. Yes; there were others with you. You can’t remember their names. A discovery had been made. You remember excitement; happiness. It was there that the memories became blurry. Your friends are screaming. There’s red everywhere. Someone has died. No! Someone’s been killed! Oh, Celestia, what have you done?! You have to find the others! Get out or die trying! No pony else must discover this place!
The mirrors. There is something moving inside the mirrors.



~~~Your Character~~~
As you probably could have guessed in the Setting, your character is trapped someplace dark and separated from the other players. Suffering a mild case of amnesia, your character must successfully find the other players and make your escape, recovering lost memories along the way. Exactly how you do that is up to you as a participant. Once all your memories are fully restored, there is more in store yet for your character. However, due to spoilers, you’ll have to find out along the way.



~~~The Rules~~~
  • No god modding or powerplaying.
  • Respect your fellow participants
  • Respect the DM.
  • Follow all basic RP Rules for MLP Forums
  • Alicorns. I will allow them on the condition that you FIRST submit them for review. If accepted, I will give you the terms in which you must follow to keep said Alicorn in the RP. If rejected ((which rarely happens, I’ll try my best to help)) please accept it and move on.

All in all, I don’t think I’m asking for much. So please, follow the rules.

I'm just saying hello; I wish I could join but I'm already in several other RPs and I'm getting the feeling that this is going to be as active as City of Darkness. (Dang, that was a cool RP, though I was barely able to post in it. I've even fleshed out my characters more since then. Oh well.)
