(WIP) A Walk Through The Forest - Constructive Criticism pwease~!

So, after I drew the initial design for my OC, I wanted to get this scene of her walking through the forest and gazing out of the beautiful scenery out of my head.

Here's my progress:

I've never really worked with backgrounds before, and I'm not all that skilled with point perspective, so that's what I want criticism on. Am I doing something wrong? Should I stop adding to it because it'll all look like poo when it's finished?? HALP.

Seeing that it's LOZ based (Hehe), I see no problemo with it. ;3

Wait... what tells you that? O.o

There's a triforce around her neck. :3

Ahhhhh. Totally Zelda based ^-^

Well, it's definitely not the Everfree, so maybe she's in the Lost Woods? Who knows? :yay:

That's a good drawing, it'd be a shame to stop now. :P

Really, I like it. :D

I did notice that Tweets is not on the usual branch. Maybe she flew somewhere? :P

I just haven't drawn her/him yet. It's kinda hard to draw small critters, y'know?

Oh I think this is so sweet.

Thank you :D

I'm having trouble deciding how to detail the dirt road. Anyone have suggestions, or is no one with artistic experience willing to give a novice a hand?

Uh... Well knowing she's walking through a forest, I suggest add some leaves, rocks, and, if the road is often used, add some hoof prints? Maybe even make the road rough, since dirt roads aren't so smooth. :P

I would suggest that when working with nature setting, keep in mind that straight lines rarely occur in nature.

If it's not paved, than the path should be more winding and messy. And very few trees grow straight up and down like that.

But it's definitely still a cute drawing. You put a lot of effort into the pony character.

Keep at it.

This is a dated picture. I've added many crooked trees, and bendy branches since then. As for the path, those are just guidelines. I haven't detailed it yet.

Thanks for the reply :D
