Anyone else feel Chrysalis is overdue for a return?

We do not want them to be... trust me the comic about Queen Chrysalis was vastly underwhelming. Cutsie Muchie land? And what were the kittens called? And Avatar-last-airbender style meteor doing stuff? And Twilight being less powerful than Chrysalis at one point and more powerful at the other? Just... no... just no... and don't let me mention the unrealistic "Team Rocket" immunity.

Speak for yourself, pretty much everyone I know who reads the comics loves them, and sees at least the main series as partially canon. And like GrimCW said, the way it went down in in the comic is way more similar to the show than the edgy fanon stuff you linked to.

I'd love another episode with her, she was a great villain.

It would be really interesting to see her back in the show. After all, she just very well feed on the love of friendship itself. I can see that being explored when she comes back. Or... we could have another epic couple... Either way, it would be really cool if she came back.

I want Chrysalis to return, but it needs to be done in the right way.  I'll say sorry in advance if this offends anyone, but Rob Renzetti working on the show made things a lot better.  The S2 finale was pure magic, imho.  There is a part of me that worries if they bring her back, she'll have a bad episode.  S4 is a mixed bag where it can either become really good or really bad.  The opening was alright, and, imho, I think it should have been title heart of harmony vs Princess Twilight Sparkle.  As for episodes up to the power ponies, they were good but could have been better.  I digress though. 

 

If they bring her back, Chrysalis should serve an important role for things.  Perhaps have it shown that she enslaved an entire kingdom outside of Equestria and launches a full scale assault on Celestia's kingdom with a clash coming between those two powerhouses.

Okay sure their survival was a bit logical, but the "Cutsie-muchie land" like really? *facepalms* they introduced such a species so needless of existing more than anything in the world? Sure it's edgy... but i'd make for a much better plot point. Like "Ha! This is what love resolves into doing! It hurts someone always..." i just wasn't satisfied with the Team Rocket gag. I also wasn't so satisfied by her defeat. It was classical... a bit predictable last minute deus-ex machina. If you saw earlier in the comic Twilight shot her "most powerful" magic or something in the lines of that and still failed to zap Chrysalis to oblivion. And the CMC pestering Queen Chrysalis as part of their cutie mark quest was a bit far fetched, though still canon... the whole comic wasn't as good as expected in it's conclusion. I wanted more changelings, since we already know they have an army, and maybe a better plan by Twilight that didn't involve betting on their own chance of finding the winning formula at the last minute.

She already gets ton of attention in the fluffle puff department, and she got her own comic arc, so i'm not sure...

Well... while her interaction with Fluffle Puff is truly interesting... it's just a fun ask blog that doesn't really say something about her character and stuff. We had characterization for NMM and Discord but not for her... at least not this much. Characterization leads to good episodes.

Definitely. Most great series have recurring villains, so I was pretty disappointed that both her and Sombra were one-shot villains. (And I'm not really counting Discord as a recurring villain - he may be antagonistic, but Fluttershy's friendship pretty much has him in chains.)

 

I've described this scenario elsewhere, but I always thought it'd be interesting for another changeling to usurp Chrysalis as queen (as with real insects), rallies the changelings for a new invasion on ponykind, and leaves Chrysalis at the bottom rung of changeling society for a while. Until, of course, she rises up again and gets her groove back, so to speak.

Trading a lesser evil for another? Making a pact? A maybe fragile truce? Nice!

As well as the creation of a reformation system. That would be interesting to see if pony society has prisons, and stuff to re-integrate ponies into society because so far the only thing i see is "We don't like something... we kick it out of our society." attitude... and that's just dang cruel.

I actually think a great thing to see is Chrysalis and Luna interact.

One plot that I think has potential is Chrysalis hiding as one of the Mane Six, maybe Pinkie Pie to study the group from within. The whole episode could be someone who looks and sounds like Pinkie, but is dead serious, insulting, even threatening. If there's any pony Crysalis would be bad at imitating, it's Pinkie. But Chryssie doesn't know much about the Mane Six' nuances so just assuming she can play Pinkie would make for a great laugh.

a good thing to see in this season,  given for bad guys or well

maybe even a few good. (lot of fanfics on that one) but maybe

getting more into the history would be nice to see

problem with this idea, and the fics based around it, is the changelings are mindless drones that just follow as Chrysalis had them do.

They show no sense of self awareness in the show and appear more like a hive of insects.

 

Now if we hit the comics again... there are a few that show that they seemingly think on their own.. but I think we're ignoring the comics for this over the minor detail of the naming of the place where Chrysalis and company landed.. So insects they are, so far as we're allowed to acknowledge, as thats all the show really provided.

 

Also taking down Celestia worked due to her siphon of "love" energy from Shining Armor, even Chrysalis was amazed she did that. not something she apparently can do normally.

It probably is about time that we see the Queen again. Now that Discord is "Reformed" we don't really have a main bad guy anymore. The only hope left for any sort of major villain would be Queen Chrysalis and here changelings.
