Horsy 193 December 27, 2013 Share December 27, 2013 I saw some statistics. It seems that 69% of the bronies are from the USA. KEEP CALM AND EAT CUPCAKES.
Rascal~ 657 December 27, 2013 Share December 27, 2013 Well, the show is American, and is done in America, and is aired in America. I know that not all country's air MLP, and the fact that it is amercian also adds to the fact that the majority of bronies are from america. 10 Fire Sharp Stardust Sai Time Scribe Chai
Lunatic Cake 1,618 December 27, 2013 Share December 27, 2013 Main reason would be because MLP was created in the US/Canada, so it is only natural for them to be the vast majority. To be honest I know many people in germany who don't even know what bronies are, so... I wish to be american one day. ._. 1 Sig by: Kyoshi
Armin 168 December 27, 2013 Share December 27, 2013 The same reason programmes like Dr Who are most popular in England. t's mainly because the show is made and aired with new episodes in America, so it reaches more American bronies than those of other nationalities. UserNotFound 964 December 27, 2013 Share December 27, 2013 Probably because it's a show made in America... It's more accessible there and people in other countries may not know about it as much as they do... I only know of it because of my friends in America... I wouldn't have started watching the show had I not been told to... I would have also seen pony merchandise and passed it off as kids stung without giving it a second glance... . Shanks 10,816 December 27, 2013 Share December 27, 2013 MLP originated in the US and is in English which while it is a commonly spoken language is not spoken by everyone. There are some foreign language versions but as many as you would think. It only recently came to Japan when a show like this seems almost tailor made for that country. Scootalove 10,689 December 27, 2013 Share December 27, 2013 I think it's because the show was made in the US and, the fanbase started to migrate to Canada after the show's popularity started to show when it first aired. ReverseFaller 2,484 December 27, 2013 Share December 27, 2013 The show being made here is a reason why it's so popular here. Also, its original dub is in English, so it doesn't surprise me that Canada, England, and other English speaking countries have a lot of bronies. Don't get me wrong, there are a ton of non-English speaking countries that still air MLP dubbed to their language. I'm actually surprised by how many languages the show has been dubbed into. Also, the show's somewhat based off of America. I mean, most of the city names are puns of US cities. (Baltimare, Las Pegasus, and Manehatten) Also, Applejack's southern accent is a southern American accent. In other dubs, she can still come off as a farmer girl, but she'll never quite be the same. The Elusive Cinder 1,328 December 27, 2013 Share December 27, 2013 Aren't you all missing the fact that America is physically a very large country? If you had 200 people: 100 are American, 25 are English, 25 are French, 25 are German and 25 are Japanese, then of course it makes sense that, if the same proportions of every country become bronies, half of the bronies will be American. These are very vague, very 'off the top of my head' statistics, just to give you an example. 1 Never quite forgotten.
Mr F 1,522 December 27, 2013 Share December 27, 2013 America is where things happen, unlike in this frozen wasteland. xD I have never met another brony, the most seem to be americans. Remi 1,309 December 27, 2013 Share December 27, 2013 Primarily because the United States of America and Canada are the two most common countries which are overflowed with hipsters, mainstream hipsters, at that. People in the two countries ache and yearn to be able to call themselves 'different' and 'against stereotypes', so they decide that watching ponies is the number one way to do so. It's more of a social statement rather than interest. Take Me Out.
PlunderSteed 1,252 December 27, 2013 Share December 27, 2013 Primarily because the United States of America and Canada are the two most common countries which are overflowed with hipsters, mainstream hipsters, at that. People in the two countries ache and yearn to be able to call themselves 'different' and 'against stereotypes', so they decide that watching ponies is the number one way to do so. It's more of a social statement rather than interest. That might have been the case during the first few months of the first season, but that's hardly a good description of bronydom today. The show has been airing for over 3 years now. Any hipsters who just did it to be different would have long since moved onto something else. 1 Regards, PlunderSteed Bassist, pianist, and backing vocalist for MLP-themed metal band Draconequus. UltimaX 63 December 28, 2013 Share December 28, 2013 All the answers given here are all very much true. And a large part is that the show is made in America. But think of this. How many foreign (Countries other than America) channels do you see in the American tv guide? This is true for most other tv providers in the various countries. You don't see many foriegn tv stations in your country. Then how many channels in America air MLP? The only one I know of is The Hub. That is only 1 station out of the hundreds of channels that are available. So what is the probability that The Hub or the rights to air the show are given to other Non-American shows. So basically, another reason for the majority of the viewers being American is the chances of the show being aired in other counties.

So basically, another reason for the majority of the viewers being American is the chances of the show being aired in other counties. Liars, liars, the lot of you! My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic is entirely a Canadian production! The only American in the whole production line is Hasbro. Everyone else - From Lauren Faust to the voice actresses/actors to the animators - is Canadian, or lives in Canada! Of course, this doesn't effect the question at all, so I'll move on to the question itself. There are more American bronies because the U.S. is the (no offence to anyone, especially England) political English-speaking capital of the world. There is a much larger population of fairly wealthy (wealthy enough to have access to cable and the Internet) people in the U.S. than in other regions, and the show is primarily distributed in the U.S. In Canada, we're 2 seasons behind! So, since there is simply a wider relevant audience, and because many of the largest websites are American-oriented, the show spreads around a lot quicker. Tigerpop198 696 December 28, 2013 Share December 28, 2013 Mostly because it is a Canadian/American show created by set people. Not to mention that the USA has more people than both England, or Canada. A lot of the people working on the show are Canadian, I'm surprised were so far behind on the shown seasons. Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,800 December 28, 2013 Share December 28, 2013 (edited) Ping is right, FiM is mainly a Canadian produced show. The only thing that majorly comes from the US are scripts. Beyond this, population is a big factor. The US and Canada, as an example, has a rather large population difference. The more people you have, the more potential fans you have. Plus Canada is just north of the US so....there is that. I am still surprised that a country like this could have such a high percentage though. Wait... 69%........ This explains everything.
