GemiNi 18 December 31, 2013 Share December 31, 2013 Yo HO! I know there are a lot of games out there, but I want to know a game where I could learn on how to use the wii quickly. Any suggestions?
Blacklight 118 December 31, 2013 Share December 31, 2013 Wii sports would be a good place to start. 4 "Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Zero Sonic 29 December 31, 2013 Share December 31, 2013 (edited) Plus pretty much any Mario game would be easy to learn, including Mario Kart as well. Edited December 31, 2013 by Zero Sonic
Krys9 456 December 31, 2013 Share December 31, 2013 I would definitely recommend Super Mario Galaxy. It is a really great game and the Wii controls are really easy to get the hang off. I would also recommend both Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles and Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles because their on-rails shooters and you use your Wii remote as a gun and it's really fun. 1 Signature made by me. Scootalove 10,692 December 31, 2013 Share December 31, 2013 Mario Kart and Super Mario Galaxy are games that I would start off with, you will be able to get the hang of the controls in no time. 1 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
~Silver Essence~ 2,625 December 31, 2013 Share December 31, 2013 Wii sports despite being a casual, is a great beginner game for anyone. And if your up for it, super mario galaxy is always up for the best as well. I'd also recommend metroid prime 3, as it's simple mechanics in terms of motion and control work really well together.
Geek0zoid 1,468 December 31, 2013 Share December 31, 2013 Everyone is recommending the Mario Galaxy series, and for good reason. It's an awesome 3D platformer with planet jumping, gravity gimmicks, and it's like Mario 64 with it's star collecting. I'd say that's a great place to start, that is, if you're into that sort of thing. There's also Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, and many others Signature made by: Rainbow Skywalker My little YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/GeekySteven (Game (Mostly) and Pony Reviews) (Yes, I'm actually active) My Johari Window thingymabob :http://kevan.org/johari?name=StevenEarthPony ASK ME A QUESTION OR TWO!:http://mlpforums.com/topic/85648-ask-steven-anything-you-want-he-loves-answering-your-questions/#entry2228380
Okeen 49 December 31, 2013 Share December 31, 2013 (edited) A bit of a "warning" I could give is actually try to listen to what the Wii says. Yeah, It may seem stupid, but It won't when you have a smashed television cause the stupid remote slips. *sigh* My lifeeee. And yeah, Wii Sports is a good place to start. It's actually helpful if you are new to the Wii system. Edited December 31, 2013 by LogicalAventa
D1SC0RD 987 December 31, 2013 Share December 31, 2013 The first games I played on the Wii were Mario games. Mario Kart is a great one to start with... very few controls and teaches you how sensitive the controllers are to motion. Not to mention it's one of my favorite wii games out there. It's a fun console! I hope you like it
GenderIsAnIllusion 2,178 December 31, 2013 Share December 31, 2013 Never play with greasy hands, and always use the wrist strap. Unless you WANT to ram a wii remote through your TV XD Also: Zelda Twilight Princess is a good begineers game for Wii My peep is against bullying.... Soundwave 28,558 January 20, 2014 Share January 20, 2014 Wii Sports does the best job of showing what you can do with the Wii, but the Mario Galaxy is one of the console's must owns
Midnight Dragon 264 January 20, 2014 Share January 20, 2014 Definitely Wii Sports. It was the first game we [the family] ever played on there, and we had so much fun! There's also the sequel, Wii Sports Resort. My favorite game on that was archery... http://youtube.com/user/AuroraKnuxhttp://visigoth101.deviantart.comhttp://auroraknux.tumblr.com

AppleGearRising 526 January 20, 2014 Share January 20, 2014 Can't say for sure whether or not it's well fitting for beginners but The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword is one of the most incredible 1:1 experiences you can have on the Wii. Discordian 6,024 January 26, 2014 Share January 26, 2014 Any game that uses the Wiimote. There is honestly no game that is more suited to displaying the Wiimote's capabilities than any other game. Play a few, play several, either way you'll get a feel for how it works. Also, while the strap is there for safety keep in mind that those huge movements they show on the commercials aren't really necessary. 99% of all games that are played with the Wiimote can be done with the flick of the controller and the motion controls are not as accurate as people would have you believe when most games don't even use full movements. You're either pointing with the IR sensor or flicking to make the controller activate a function akin to pressing a button. You don't need to use so much force the Wiimote flies across the room if you lose your grip. I know this kinda takes the "magic" out of the motion controls but it's better not to be sucked in by it thinking it's more than it is. This is not meant to push you away from the Wii, merely to give you realistic expectations.
