Guest September 10, 2015 Share September 10, 2015 Don't worry. I think I haven't use my account there since last year or two. Paying to read messages was pretty scammy to me but luckily what they do with that got me to leave the site in a disgustful look. My question if anyone knows it but did the person that came up with that site and added bots and such, are they even bronies? Haters? or a mixed? I'll feel shameful if it's the former. They are not bronies if I recall. They actually know very little about MLP, they are just a group that makes these sites for a profit.
Morgoth Bauglir 14 September 10, 2015 Share September 10, 2015 I would highly recommend avoiding bronymates or any other dating site really. They be dangerous, argg.
Surprise 1,003 September 10, 2015 Share September 10, 2015 Oh got it. I wish I've known that long time ago. I don't think my old friend, the one who introduce me to that site knows about it. Either way I'm glad to know what's with that dating site.
Guest September 10, 2015 Share September 10, 2015 I remember seeing this site being advertised on the forums a few months back . Curiousity got the best of me. So you have this 3 day trial and you can only view messages... if you want to respond you got to pay. If you even try to mention other instant messaging in your message to someone there the site censors those sites out. There way of keeping you from using other ways to connect . Left on the 2nd day xD Nonetheless just another one of your online dating sites. If you're feeling lucky and have nothing to lose go for it. Yet again you have to be so careful dating online too.
simba86 1,541 September 10, 2015 Share September 10, 2015 pretty scammy how they run it, run away, run far far away LOL It's better to die on your feet than to live on your knees!
Moved to Elsewhere 11,331 September 10, 2015 Share September 10, 2015 From what I've heard, it's a scam. Even the idea of it sounds very clickbait. It's kind of an issue I have with most dating sites. They make you pay just to initiate contact with people. You don't know what they'll do with you credit card information. The reason it's an easy scam is because it's appealing to people who are desperate for love and will do anything for it. Very easy to get scammed.
Blackened 512 September 10, 2015 Share September 10, 2015 (edited) I've made a post in a similar thread, but I'm sure it applies here as well. Bronymate is a great website... ...if you want to pay money to do literally anything, including (but not limited to) reading messages, which are all from fake people. Don't expect to post anything that links to other sites or places where you can talk outside the site. Moony the Cat 3,702 September 10, 2015 Share September 10, 2015 I dont see any reason why its necessary to make an dating site for the Mlp Series.Does other fandoms do this as well for their series? Only because two people like an series, doesnt mean they should come together, just because of this You can still have other interests that you share with people, which could get to an relationship with someone but if you just register yourself there, you probably miss a lot of people who might be interested in you, just because they dont like mlp and never would go to this site. Just register yourself on any normal dating site, they are much more people and more chances. Also, if the site costs money...why even go there? There are dating sites for free with more people on them. Going to Bronymate seems a little bit useless to me Sig made by Kyoshi
Eloquence 2,076 September 11, 2015 Share September 11, 2015 Might as well post here to offer some advice to people looking at this site. Don't do it. If you want a dating site that costs money there are much better ones out there, and if you want one that's actually free and not just fake free or "free trial" OKCupid is actually much better than you might think. There are even some cool nerdy types on there (and yes, that includes people who like MLP). Just be aware that you'll likely get some creepers mixed in with the people you actually want to talk to, and I don't think you can sign up if you're a minor (and if you can I still wouldn't recommend it). 3 My Equestrian Empire Characters Fluttershy - Eloquence - Chamomile - Ginseng - Lovestruck Ask Me Questions! N.W. 3,619 September 11, 2015 Share September 11, 2015 Was never really interested in dating sites regardless of theme, and I have also heard of it's scam-ish qualities. Not to mention their twitter account has followed and followed me about 3 or 4 times now. I'll find a partner elsewhere.

Yeah OkCupid is legit. I actually never had trouble dating IRL, but I gave OkCupid a whirl out of curiosity after a break up and long story short: I am one of the success stories. I am married to a person I met there. But yeah BronyMate is totally a scam, and on top of that the idea itself is just kind of... Dumb... Why would you need a site SPECIFICALLY looking for girls who are into MLP? Like what that very specific stipulation? There is more to a person than liking MLP, so focusing on that factor alone to date someone is a bad idea. On top of that REQUIRING a girl to be a brony before you'd date her is kind of crappy too.
