Envy 6,169 January 6, 2014 Share January 6, 2014 Plus I am really talking about how I am appalled a mother would start a page to be a cyber bully to others. But mothers are all-around human, too. And by that I mean, they very much have the potential to fall into the pitfalls of human nature and be inhumane, as well. Hence why, sadly, mothers not only neglecting, but killing their children appear on the news all of the time. Or at least it appears on the news all of the time where I live. We live in a culture where the very thought of guys watching the show (not merely to the extent of the ones that...take it too far...) is considered wrong and incomprehensible. I don't really get it, either. However, I had a small argument at my workplace at lunch last night just about this, and I don't get it, either. It's just a cartoon. I can't see the harm in watching it. 4 Everything needs more woodwind!

FoxyCryptid 4,330 January 6, 2014 Share January 6, 2014 (edited) Well, it might still come in handy if someone starts bullying I knew what they call encouraging suicide at one point because Cracked talked about someone that prayed on people that way, but I forget what it called, it's like "murder by proxy" he was charged with or something like that. So yeah, it's actually highly illegal to encourage suicide and you can be held responsible for their death if they go through with it. I can't see the harm in watching it. Especially in the United States, society unfortunately tends to gauge someone's maturity by taste in entertainment(and personality to some extent) instead of their actions and ability to act responsible when need be. Fluttershyfan94 5,742 January 6, 2014 Share January 6, 2014 Feeling sad about this is pointless, encouraging suicide is also illegal. Don't know, there will always be plenty of people like this just like there will be plenty of people that aren't like this it's best to just be with the ones that aren't like this. 1 DA: http://fluttershyfan94.deviantart.com/ Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/Fluttershyfan94
Scootaloodle 1,623 January 6, 2014 Share January 6, 2014 I wouldn’t pay any attention to people like that: there are meany mean mean pants who hate on people for liking something even just a little quirky and less boring and ordinary in all walks of life. The best thing to do is to ignore anything that’s brony hate: if you find brony hate websites or comments or whatever just skip past and don’t waist your time reading something that’ll just upset you, because what’s the point reading some mean comments scribbled out by some person who has a high chance of not actually lets face it have any real understanding of what bronys are all about? There was one SJW who claimed to hate labels yet labeled all bronies as racist, homophobic, misogynist neckbeards who wear fedoras and never leave their parent's basement. SJWs hate bullies, yet bully people who don't agree with them. Or laugh when a bullied person starts bullying other people. That's why if you're going to properly use Tumblr, avoid this part and don't tell anybody you're white, straight, cis (meaning staying at the gender assigned at birth), male who likes MLP, they'll immediately label you, even if you didn't like MLP they're going to assume you're racist, stupid, and homophobic. The fandom part of tumblr is far more tolerant than the rest of tumblr.

Nah 3,182 January 6, 2014 Share January 6, 2014 what have bronies ever done that is so bad i cant believe this s!@# is still going on!! There have been some stupid things some bronies have done in the name of their fandom, however the main problem people have is the fact many treat it like it's a religion. To be honest, I call myself more of an MLP fan, not a brony, for the fact many bronies do stupid things (whether it's painting a horse statue to look like Rainbow Dash, or being a jerk at cons), but both sides are just so stupid and defensive.
GrimCW 658 January 6, 2014 Share January 6, 2014 (edited) however the mane problem people have is the fact many treat it like it's a religion. I'd say its not really a "many" so much as most outside assume some take it as such. If anything only a few really may take it that far. Its more like those that accuse fans of "Shoving it in my face" just because someone wore a shirt with a pony on it at some point in time though. Or because the person is fan enough they have an online avatar of a pony. IMO anywho it a misunderstanding of people making false accusations and WHY they make the accusations than it is with anyone taking it like a religion. Apparently wearing anything pony related, having an accessory (Cell phone case, ear rings, whatever), automatically makes it "shoved" into peoples faces. As well as having a collection and watching the show gives those not of the fandom a sort of odd feeling that someone is worshiping it. You want something worshiped like a religion though.. sports teams... But you don't hear about that all to often do ya? Probably not, as most people have some sort of knowledge of that fanbase, being as common as it is. But with the MLP fans.. not so much.. I mean, I've yet to hear of anywhere trying to add "Pegasus" or "Princess Luna" to their local census like the star wars fans that tried to add "Jedi" and "sith" awhile back. Although.. Pegasus was a god.. so technically that works... hmm Edited January 6, 2014 by GrimCW

Even Pixel Kitties called the head of it out and said she should be out doing real activism if she wants to help instead of starting a holy war over a fan-comic she doesn't like. Not to mention the horrific and stomach turning things her supporters said to JJ and the blogs fans in general. GrimCW 658 January 6, 2014 Share January 6, 2014 (edited) Actually... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pegasus Fail man, fail He was the son of a god and a gorgon. Both immortals. That makes him at the least a demi-god like Hercules. Whom was son of a god and a human. At least Pegasus had two immortal parents of sort. Even if going by the alternate of being formed by the blood, it even mentions the similarity in Athena's birth as a goddess from similar. [insert the overused autistic, misogynist, neckbeard basement dwelling fedora loving card, since many people think that's all we are] I've noticed that, especially among the old-school fans and collectors. Many of them that were around pre-brony/G4 era think they own the fandom and franchise and all of us should bow down to them and kiss their ass "just because" In truth, from the inside of the fandom what I see is the exact opposite of these stereotypes and most other fandoms are just as guilty of our sins(some to a far worse degree) and the asshole members tend to be products of the website they hail from(4Chan, Reddit) rather than of the fandom itself. Also, as someone with aspergers(that's scared to death of wrongly offending people and looking like an asshole) I hate that insult and stereotype. Nerdy Luigi 2,065 January 7, 2014 Share January 7, 2014 Just ignore them. They are not worth your time or energy.This. Attention feeds people like that. (@$$#0|£$) I learn this the hard way. I have people calling me an idiot all the time. (Not true, I took a PSAT and made a 22, AS A SOPHOMORE.) As a brony, the same happens. Be loyal and stand by your family, but don't fuel them. Some bronies are bad people, cloppers. Some of them are annoying, but that is actually rare I have noticed.

You hit it on the mark with the majority of the bad fans. Many do come from the /MLP/ board or Reddit. Because many think they're too special for liking the show and must tell everybody about it.
