@@@Ampharos@,

"It's kinda creepy in here..." Stella said, in a much more quiet tone than she would usually talk in. Looking around, there was a few pokemon nearby. None of them really interested her, but they might interest the other two. "Sooo... How many pokemon do each of you guys have? And, are you hoping to get any more...?"

Locke looked around and nodded in agreement at what Stella had said. "Yea this is worse than the rooms of the Fuji's gym... thing... Quite eerie." Locke saw one of the frog things and became interested. He couldn't quite see, but he didn't remember seeing them before. "Well let's see... I got Revvy," he stuck his thumb back towards the shiny Gengar. "Cheshire, Knight, and Jewel. Another one wouldn't hurt. I'll be right back." Locke started walking slowly and cautiously towards the frog Pokemon, calling Revvy in front of him in case something happened.

Lurele

@,@@Ampharos,@,

Looking around and hugging her Vulpix a little tighter, Lurele doesn't actually glance back at her new friends as she answers the question.  "Other than Vulpix, I have a Lucario and a Mienshao.  I'll totally let you meet them later."  She had already forgotten about the Wurmple she'd caught - she really had no plans to train a bug type for her team.  "As far as more, I'm planning to catch as many fighting types as possible!  See, I'm going to be a gym leader eventually."

About that time was when Lurele turned around to notice Locke walking towards the purple frogs.  "Hey, what are those?  Locke, hold up, what are you looking at?  Some kind of water type?"  Holding Vulpix with one arm, Lurele reaches for the pokedex in her pocket to try and look up the unfamiliar purple frogs.

Locke just looked back and shrugged, throwing his hands up slightly.  "I haven't the faintest idea what those things are. I'm sort of close minded when it comes to other Pokemon. I've only ever been in Johto and Kanto so... Why did you want one of these guys? I could try for one of those scorpion things over there... Or I might wait til we get to a different area... Hmmm...." Locke stopped walking to ponder what he was going to do, giving a perfect opportunity for Lurele to check out the frogs first.

Joshua

Stretching as he steps out of the pokemon center in Verdanturf Town, Joshua rubs at his back with a knuckle until he hears a satisfying pop.  He'd been in Hoenn for a little while now, but he'd been taking things rather slow...  Really he hadn't accomplished much of anything other than traveling to Verdanturf, he hadn't even caught any pokemon yet.  But the way he saw it, everything was working out well.  He'd managed to train his Nidorino and Ivysaur a little, so it wasn't completely wasted time.

Taking a few steps away from the building, Joshua flips some of his long blonde hair out of his face before reaching up to tighten his headband.  He freezes when he hears someone whistle at him from off to the side, and the small boy spins around to glare at them.  He noticed a taller (of course) guy wearing a red hoodie and grinning at him.  While Joshua wasn't exactly listening, he heard the man say something that sounded a lot like a pick up line.

"I'M A GUY YOU JERK!"  The look on the Magma Grunt's face almost made up for the mix-up.  Almost.  The fact was Joshua got mistaken for a girl quite a bit, but it still got on his nerves when it happened.  Or when anyone brought up his small stature.  Really, he got upset at a lot of things for someone supposedly training to be a ninja...

Anton had given his words a bit of thought out for what the trainer said, but immediately went to smirking at him. "Actually... Luxio will stay out! Your Geodude might have the type advantage, but you should never underestimate the weak! You might just lose your guard for a split second!" He exclaimed, before Luxio's intimidating looks went back into effect, growling out.

"Show him, now! Swagger!" Another command came out before Luxio began to enrage itself, right towards the Geodude.

Lurele

@@Ampharos,@,@,

Lurele's response to Locke was an excited shriek more than a coherent thought, briefly thrusting her pokedex towards him as the little red device read off information about Croagunk, including its typing.  "It's a fighting type I've gotta catch it!"  Rushing past Locke, Lurele glances around for a dry spot to set Vulpix before eventually dropping her bag and letting the little fire fox sit on top of it.  She really couldn't bring herself to make the shy little pokemon go back into her pokeball.

Reaching for one of her other pokeballs, Lurele grabs the easily recognizable Premier Ball and tosses it into the air.  "Luke, take the ring!  You're up big guy!"  She figured the Lucario would be a good choice for this match up - usually his steel typing would hinder him against other fighting types, but it would also protect him in case the frogs tried to poison him.  "Luke, use Force Palm!"  "Carrrr!"  As her Lucario rushed towards the purple frogs, Lurele already had an empty pokeball in her hand and looking for an opening.

Locke was a little dazed from all of Lurele's excitement and chuckled a little as she sped off towards the unfamiliar Pokemon that had now been identified as a Croagunk according to Lurele. Locke started looking around again, not really that interested in the weird purple bug looking Pokemon. There wasn't much other than a cliff, but he didn't feel like making Revvy separate again to check what was up. Guess I'll just stay here til Lurele's done. Doesn't seem like Stella plans on getting anything here either. Doesn't seem her style.

@@@Ampharos@,

Stella looked at Lurele's response to the fact that she had come across a fighting type, and rolled her eyes. How could anyone be so entertained just from a pokemon's typing? In Stella's mind, cuteness was everything. And types reflected cuteness, with Normal and Fairy types being the cutest, while Fighting, Dragon, Dark, and Ghost being the least cute, roughly speaking. Sure, there were exceptions, but this pokemon the two trainers had come across were in no way, cute

And that's when Stella remembered something. "Speaking of cute pokemon, I think I'm going to go train my Cascoon! Come find me if you need me." She said, though of course no one was speaking of the sort.

Stella soon found what looked to be formidable opponents. "Alright! Cascoon, let's go!" The girl said, summoning the bug type who appeared to have a permanent angry scoff on her face. "Use Harden!" Cascoon began shine a little bit.

@,

Tuathal shrugged. "We've gone this far together, and I've really enjoyed your company. Plus I always prefer traveling in a group.. I don't see why I'd part ways with you now. Unless that was your way of saying you'd rather go it alone. I understand if you'd prefer it that way."

Cass gave Tall an embarrassed smile. "I need to get stronger. I..." She paused, glancing north. "I think I might need go walk my own path for a little bit. I'm sorry," she said, frowning slightly. "You can go north if you want. I need... I think I need some time." Her smile faded, and she looked apologetic yet determined.

Geodude, headstrong as it was was, was already halfway through a tackle attack when it got hit by the confusing power of swaggering. Geodude tumbled, and still managed to tumble into Luxio somehow. They together tumbled, colliding into the wall of the canyon and landing in a jumble of rocky and liony limbs.

Verdanturf seemed positively peaceful and untouched compared to the areas around. It might have been the fresh air, or else the serene atmosphere, or else else the extraordinary lack of the war at all here. It was the border town with Norman, and was in-itself quasi-autonomous from Magma, as to keep Norman appeased.

There really wasn't much to do in town. The Battle Tent had long since closed. The path south was usually pretty heavily guarded. It was risky to go east alone and Rustboro Tunnel seemed constantly at risk of cave-ins. As a Magma Citizen, though, Josh didn't have to worry about those pain-in-the-ass Magma checkpoints.

These Croagunk looked around. They were fast. Leaping out of the way of Lucario's Force Palm, they simultaneously jabbed it in the side with their weird little hands. Their Fake Out attacks seemed to render Lucario temporarily incapable of movement. It was just standing there awkwardly posed with a stunned look on its face.

Locke moved at just the right angle to be able to see light streaming through the trees at the top of the cliff, while the gloomier trees down here blocked out the sun nearly entirely.

"Alright! Harden again, Cascoon!" Cascoon obliged, glowing white yet again. The pokemon didn't seem to be grabbing the attention of the Skorupi. "Eh... Guess you could use some help. Clefairy, use Metronome!" Clefairy came out of it's pokeball, with an excited grin on it's face, before landing in front of Cascoon. Then waved her finger...

Lurele gasped as Luke froze, seeming unable to move.  He didn't really seem hurt all that much, but mostly stunned...  Had they struck a nerve or something!?  Wait, no, her Mienshao also knew Fake Out.  Luke would be fine in a little bit, but for now the Lucario was going to need back-up.

"Two against one, huh?  Normally Luke can handle that, but you two are asking for it!"  Without looking Lurele grabs one of the pokeballs from where she keeps her party pokemon, assuming it was MiMi's ball.  When she tosses it forward and the flash of light reveals the Wurmple she'd caught a little while ago, the trainer's mouth drops open as she stares at the little bug.  It takes her a couple seconds to remember catching it before mentally facepalming.

"Umm, okay, this works too!  I guess.  Wurmple, use String Shot!"  With any luck the little bug would at least be able to slow down the quick frogs enough for Luke to actually do something...

Tuathal shook his head. "No need to apologize. I understand. It's been a lot of fun traveling with you, though, and I really do hope we meet again some day. Good luck on journey. I'm sure you'll became a great trainer one day. You're already well on your way, if you ask me." He got up and looked around for a minute, thinking. "I think I'll go to Verdanturf. It's a nice place, I've heard."

Immediately, Luxio felt the force of Geodude run smack into it, sending them both into the craggy walls, making it yell in pain and wincing out.

"Gah! Luxio, are you all right? Shake it off, my friend! I know your jaw is tough, but tough through rock? Find out, your Bite attack! Go!"

Luxio, through being tumbled at the wall with Geodude and immediately opened up its mouth, lunging out at one of its arm and attempting to bite it.
