Stubborn as she was, Lurele didn't learn her lesson from the first room and again tried to open the left door first.  She sighs when she finds it also locked, growing more curious about what could be hiding behind the locked doors.  She smiles slightly though as she turns to look around the room, her cautious behavior from before seemingly not lasting long.

"Why not?  I mean, it's not every day you get to stroll around an old gym like this..."  She tries to think back to what little research she had done before coming to Hoenn.  "Say, do you think this is Norman's old gym?  I think it was supposed to be the closest one to where we landed..."

As she speaks she walks slowly around the room, sparing a small glance at the hole in the wall before walking towards the door on the right.  There really wasn't a whole lot to see in the room, so it didn't hold her attention for that long.  "What do you think is making the sound behind the locked doors?  Think it could be a wild pokemon?"  "Caaarrr..."  "Oh hush, I wasn't asking you.  You always think it's going to be something dangerous."  Grinning as she looks back at Locke, Lurele steps through the door into the next room.  She had already made up her mind - she WAS going to find out what was making the noise!

Locke shrugged. "I would assume so. This place kind of has an eerie beauty though, I'll admit. I think I could send Revvy to go check, but he wouldn't be able to tell us anything." I could translate. Locke jumped once again and looked around the room for the source of the voice. It sounded close, as if he was holding the voice in his arms. "Hello?" Hello. Locke looked around frantically once again. "Do you hear that? Where's it coming from?"

Not exactly the most glorious victory, but he'd take it. Returning No-name to it's ball, he thought for a while before heading into the Deceive Room. He didn't know what to expect from it, but he figured it sounded pretty interesting. He just hoped he was up to the challenge of whatever came next.

"Alrighty!" Stella chimed after Wally, and then sat down, watching Roserade try to teach Litwick to do some form of attack. Litwick didn't seem to be putting all of her effort forward, but that was made up for due to her being a pretty quick learner. What was the attack Roserade was teaching her? Energy Ball, if Stella recalled correctly. A grass type move, judging by the colour of the attack and Roserade so obviously being a grass type. Grass type, huh? That's kinda an interesting attack to teach to a fire type. Stella thought to herself. Grass is strong against ground, rock, and water. And fire is weak to all of those. That's pretty useful.

Miles watched as Wally's Roserade instructed the small Litwick on how to use Energy Ball. "I have to say you've trained your Pokemon well Wally." Miles said. "Hey, that Altaria of yours is a Dragon type right? Do you think it could teach my Tyrunt anything?" He said, releasing the small t-rex Pokemon from his Pokeball. "If Norman is as strong as you say then I need as much power as I can get."

"If Norman is as strong as you say then I need as much power as I can get."

"Well..." Wally looked thoughtful as he looked at the little dragon. "Don't get me wrong, but those fangs? I'm not sure most of Altaria's moves would really suit Tyrunt. But..." He paused for a moment, then nodded. "I've got it." Altaria flew out of the Pokeball, landing with a coo lightly on Wally's shoulder. It looked heavy, but Wally bore it like a champ. Being mostly made of cloud must make Altaria fairly light. He whispered into its ear, and with a resounding coo, it flew over to Tyrunt, cooed again, and beckoned for the little pokemon to follow.

Once Tyrunt had managed to get on top of a building, where Altaria had flown to perch, Altaria began to coo at Tyrunt, very officially. Then, teaching by example, much like Roserade, it flew up into the air, spread its wings wide, and began to spin, almost like a ballerina.

Wally watched this, eyes twinkling, before turning to Stella. "Looks like Litwick's starting to get it," he said. The little candle had a wavering ball of energy in front of its mouth, and it shot it at a plank of wood. Roserade's Energy Ball was much more powerful, but that was only to be expected. "Please, just make sure it keeps practicing the move," he said to her. "Practice makes perfect."

The Ace Trainer in this room spoke officially. "Welcome to the Decieve Room. If this challenge is completed, you will be allowed to battle Norman. If you fail, you must start the Gym Challenge all over again. If you're ready to battle, select your first pokemon, and let the battle begin."

The third room ONLY had a door on the left, which was mercifully ajar. It was similarly uninteresting to the rooms previous.

The fourth room (pacing) had two doors. One of them was on the same wall as the room they had just emerged from, presumably leading into the center room, and predictably locked. The next room, the one at the end, must lead to where Norman once took challengers in happier days.

"Hear what?  I didn't hear anything..."  As Lurele spoke she was stubbornly trying the third locked door, unfortunately finding this one just as locked as all the other ones have been.  Grrr, come on now...  There has to be some kind of way to get in there!  Something's in there making sounds!  The idea of trying to get Luke to break the door down was starting to appeal more and more to the impatient trainer.  With little other choice, she crosses the room to step into Norman's old room.  As she crosses through the door she glances back to Locke, grinning as she asks jokingly "Don't think we'll get a badge for going through this gym, do ya?  Hehe."

Tuathal thought for a while. He didn't think it was a good idea to use his new Poochyena when he hadn't really seen what it was capable of yet, and No-name was probably still tired. He didn't like making Jarvis fight so much in one day, but there wasn't much choice. He released the Kangaskhan from it's ball and waited to see what his opponent would do.

...In the back of his head, he kept thinking about Cassie and hoping she was doing alright. It sounded like things were getting pretty serious earlier.

"Alright." Stella responded to Wally. Litwick was then returned to her pokeball. Though Wally had said Litwick should battle Roserade, Stella honestly didn't remember he had said that. "Well, I best be going then. I'll make sure not to bump into those nasty grunts again, and practise that new move." Stella then waved a goodbye to Miles, who she had basically ignored since Wally had gotten there.

As Tyrunt watched Altaria spin in the air he cocked his head in confusion before taking a shot at the routine himself. Tyrunt was, of course, not able to fly and was overall a lot less graceful than Altaria but the little dinosaur still managed to pull off some variation of the dance. As he moved about Tyrunt started to felt...different. Somehow he felt not only stronger but faster too.

Miles was watching all this happen from where he stood when he heard Stella say she was leaving. "Alright then, it was nice meeting you. Maybe next time we meet we can have a battle, eh?" Miles called out to Stella as he waved goodbye.

The room where Norman had once sat showed clear signs of recent human habitation. In fact, it had a bed in it, that looked recently slept-in. Also, there were many little Pokemon-beds scattered around the room. An old man could be heard talking in the next room. Either talking into his pokenav or to one of the many occupants of the little pokebeds.

Gengar floated through the wall into the room in the dead center, following Locke's commands. What it found there was a little unnerving - well, maybe not to a Ghost-type pokemon. The room in the dead center of the abandoned gym was host to a Pokemon Cemetary. Hundreds of little gravestones filled the room, where the floor had been torn up and little bodies buried in the fresh soil.

As the dragons spun and danced, a golden aura began to surround them, and upon stopping, the auras broke in a shimmer of golden stars. Both dragons felt particularly more swift and more powerful. ((You assumed correctly.))

"That move is Dragon Dance," Wally told Tuall. "It boosts the power and speed of your pokemon. Hopefully it'll help in your battle against Norman, although it'd be optimal for you to have a fighting-type move there as well. I can lead you to his gym if you like."

Tuathal groaned. Those stupid pink blobs were probably the most obnoxious pokemon to fight. Obviously he couldn't really win by brute force, since the two were identical, and it would be hard to come up with a strategy to win a mirror match like this. He decided to wait for the pseudo-Jarvis to make it's first move.

"Ah. So, you're called Cubchoo! Adorable name, adorable! I hope you enjoy my company, my new friend!" Anton had exclaimed out, picking up the Pokeball nearby and putting it into his wet bag.

Finally, a friend that's not exactly one to back do-- His thoughts were soon interrupted by a large roar into his ear, turning around. It seemed as though a Pokemon didn't want to lose its offspring. "Sorry, there! But I need to take my leave before my rear is frozen! Tata~!"

Locke was a little creeped out about the beds. Who would live in a place like this? He barely noticed Lurele going towards the door a voice was coming out of and when he realized it, it was one of the worst things he'd ever witnessed. Running up to her just in case, he began screaming in his mind. Why in Arceus would she want to go towards the voice!? Maybe she's stupid? Oh sorry... that was rude...

Revvy looked around the room with a confused look. He lowered himself to the ground and walked around the room, inspecting all of the graves as he walked past. But girly said she heard a noise... Revvy should keep looking... The Gengar went to the other rooms, looking to see what else there was in this locked off part of the building.

The Ditto and its trainer seemed to be waiting for Tuathal and Jarvis to make the first move, as well. When it became evident that they would not, though, they had to move. And by move, I mean the trainer pulled out his pokedex to figure out what moves his Ditto now knew. Usually they learned by letting the opponent move first, but Tuall seemed stubborn.

The old man looked around, from where he had been tending a baby Vulpix from where he sat, cross-legged, on the floor. "Oh, it's no problem at all, dear," he dithered, turning back to Vulpix.

There were a number of other pokemon around the room. A Cubone, a Zigzagoon, a Poliwag, a Nincada, a Shroomish, and a Slakoth. They looked moderately happy and well taken care of, although there was sadness in their eyes.

The man was bald. He had bushy eyebrows and a thin, kindly face. There was such affection in the way he tended Vulpix that it was almost infectious. Hearts could not help but smile.

"We don't get many visitors here," the man said, now feeding the young fox with a bottle. "Not in this little House of Memories."

He found himself near the base of a short mountain. Looking west, he saw the Sea. Only the ground around him showed any sign of the icy cave concealed in that hole in the ground, and that was evidenced by the light frost surrounding it. Most people wouldn't even notice.

To Anton's south was an unfamiliar, dirty city, and to the north an even taller mountain. It seemed the stream had carried him much farther than he'd thought.

A few Wingull could be seen fluttering over the waves, and Tentacool floated idly by just off the shore. A Swablu flew overhead. A little bit of pink could be seen poking out of a patch of rustling grass. A small cave opened up in an east wall, and a strange whirring could be heard from inside.

Gengar went into the final room, the one neither Locke or Lurele had yet seen. This room had more orphaned pokemon in it - a Meditite, a Clefairy, a Ratatta, and a Shuppet. It also bore personal effects of the man who Lurele and Locke were talking to. There was a picture of the old man standing next to another old man, who bore a cane, wore sunglasses and a white hat and vest, and had a spectacular mustache - Blaine, of Kanto fame. There was a second picture depicting the old man, much younger in this picture, wearing a lab coat and standing in front of a laboratory.

Mr. Fuji had come to Hoenn. Whether Gengar would recognize the old man, or whether the other two would, was another question.

Before Stella left, Wally gave her his number. Considering she had just purchased a C-Gear before she had left to travel Hoenn, such a thing could certainly come in handy, though the likelihood of her actually needing to call Wally was not very likely.

Once Stella had made it to route 102, she decided looking for wild pokemon would probably be a good idea. "Alrighty. Litwick, and Mantyke, come out please!" The trainer said, summoning the two pokemon. Mantyke yawned and seemed rather dazed, while Litwick looked like she wanted to fight something. "Alright. So, I want you two to be on the lookout for wild pokemon, okay?"

@,@@Ampharos,

Lurele can't help but smile at the way the old man tended to the baby pokemon, walking up next to him and kneeling down to look at the baby Vulpix.  Her Lucario stayed close by protectively, but her Mienshao wasted no time in going up to some of the other smaller pokemon and leaning down as though she meant to play with them.

"House of Memories?  ...What is this place?"  As she speaks Lurele slowly extends a hand to pet the little Vulpix with one finger, still smiling at the sight of the cute little pokemon.  "Are all of these pokemon yours?  Do you need any help?"  She had her adventure to go on, true...  But the sight of all these baby pokemon tugged at the girl's heart.  She had no plans to abandon her travels, but she could afford to help out around here however she could.  How couldn't she, with all of the little pokemon watching her!?

FINALLY! WARM, COASTAL AIR! OH, HOW GLORIOUS THE WARMTH IS! NEVER IN THE LIFE OF ARCEUS WOULD I EXPLORE THAT FORBIDDEN PLACE AGAIN!

The only thoughts that ran out by the head of Anton as he reached the outside, hearing the multiple sounds of nature coming out into his hearing. Though, one thing had came to mind right off of the bat... The cave.

"That's odd... What's happening in that cave?" He muttered as he slowly went up towards the cave, right into the entrance.

@,@,

Locke sighed in relief at the sight of the old man. He had indeed met this man before, trying to get to Celadon City (I think?). He had had to go through Lavender Town where he met Mr. Fuji of the Pokemon House. "Mr. Fuji! I hadn't expected you would leave Lavender Town. Is everything all right?" Locke knelt down next to the Cubone, recognizing the little guy as one of Fuji's favorites.

Revvy's eyes lit up at the picture of the two old men. Oh it's Nice Man! And Fire Man! And more pokies... Look at all the pokies... Revvy should go back to Locky now... The Gengar smiled and waved at some of the Pokemon before phasing through this wall, ending up fairly close to the two trainers and Mr. Fuji. Oh Nice Man is here! The Gengar lowered himself to the ground and waddled happily over to the three people.

@,

((I never did actually give you a move list, but I do have one: Comet Punch, Uproar, Stomp, Dizzy Punch))

Tuathal stifled a laugh at his opponent trying to figure out what their pokemon was capable of. He supposed that was the downside to using a pokemon that relied on copying others.

Fuji looked back up from where he was tending Vulpix. "Locke," he said, with a look of welcoming recognition. He smiled. "Well, things have certainly been better. I left Lavender Town weeks ago, when I heard about what happened here in Petalburg. I decided the Pokemon here needed me more." Looking fondly down at the Vulpix, he said, "Most of these Pokemon are survivors of what happened to the city that used to stand just south of here. They either lost their trainers or were lost themselves. I've done my best to nurse them all back to health and salvage what I can from the old city."

The room they were in also housed many old grimy artifacts and photographs that seemed to have been taken from the lakebed.

Fuji looked up at the new trainer. He stared at her for a few seconds, as if looking right into her soul, then evidently deciding favorably, said, "Well... Some of the pokemon here are getting restless. I suppose you could each take one with you, if they would like to go, and if they're strong enough to. Poliwag and Cubone won't want to, though. They came from Kanto with me. Why don't you interact with them all, see if any of them take a liking to you?"

Just a reminder of who all is in the house...

Zigzagoon, Nincada, Shroomish, Vulpix and Slakoth

Other room... Meditite,  Clefairy,  Ratatta, and Shuppet.

In this peaceful environment, you can examine the Pokemon with your dex and learn a bit about them.

Pocketing the Pokedex, the trainer looked back up, grinned, and gave a command. Dit-askhan moved quite a bit faster than Kangaskhan could ever hope to, and struck it with a Dizzy Punch.

In the cave, a Lunatone could be seen spinning. There was a hole in the roof, and a sliver of moon was visible through it.

Seedot and Cascoon could be seen dangling from trees. A Surskit was flitting about on large puddle, and a Zigzagoon pawed curiously at the edge of a pond, where the water could be seen rippling.
