"What do we do now, someone found the tracker I put on the royal guard, it had a raspy connection, but I traced it somewhere new and old kingdom, it would take a whole to get there but I see it as a well deserved revenge."

"I actually need to speak with Whitelight" Equinox said as he sheathed Muramasa. "Fine...I won't kill him but when you are done with him I will kill him" He said. "Renegade...you better tell me why you killed Blaze in the first place" Equinox said to himself. "I might as well tag along"

Shadow walked inside the throne room. It was beautifully decorated for being a run down castle, at the end was a chair with a cloaked pony sitting and waiting. Once Shadow made it close enough a hoof came up by one of the guards. Shadow noted that they were indeed wearing royal armor which had vanished after the princesses were defeated. "You asked for a job to be done and I took care of it. All be it with some bumps but I've also brought others that could aid you in your cause." Shadow saw the pony stand up upon seeing everypony else walking in.

The couple followed Shadow into what appeared to be a throne room. There were more royal guards and there was a cloaked pony sitting on the royal throne. Firelight raised an eyebrow as he stared at he figure. "Who are you and what do you want with us." he asked calmly.

Shadow heard Firelight's question and it caused Shadow to start to intervene only to be stopped by the pony. "I can understand your caution Firelight. You may call me Solar Starlight." Shadow could tell just from the voice that his contact was female. At the mention of her name she removed her cloak revealing a golden yellow made with a fire red and orange mane and tail. "The last pony alive with Royal blood tied to the princesses. I wish to bring Equestria back to the shining utopia that it once was and bring harmony back to everypony."

Firelight looked dumbfounded. He sat down heavily with a loud *huff*. Sky looked awed as she stared at the beautiful royal mare. Tears of disbelieving joy filled her eyes and a watery smile plastered itself on her face. Firelight regained his thoughts and asked "Well what do we have to do with it. The elements of harmony are gone. And I haven't seen the other elements of nature like me in years. I have no idea where any of them are. Without them my powers arent good enough. Unless of course your plan has nothing to do with my power."

Solar showed a caring smile when she saw Sky smile. "Yes it's true that the Elements are gone...but as far as the Nature elements they could be of some use. But you Firelight...that wasn't the reason that I had Shadow rescue you, I had him rescue because I need ponies with the heart and courage to fight to restore Equestria to it's former glory." Solar looked at one of the stained glass pictures, that of the fall of the princesses to Discord. "The elements of harmony will find their new masters one day but for now they slumber. We've relied on them for too long. In order for Equestria to become what it once was we need to remove the current government...although that would mean that all of you would be committing treason. Would you follow me blindly into the fray of this to see Equestria rebuilt."

Firelight visibly calmed as Solar Starlight spoke. She seemed honest. He looked at Sky and she smiled back. She nodded and snuggled close to him, a hopeful light in her eyes. Firelight looked back at the royal pony and said "Whatever we can do to help."

Renegade did all the things his friends did,he sat on his hind as he stared at the mare,his eyes huge yet his mouth sealed,he didn't even sound like he was breathing,and he hadn't made a peep since they left up to the palace,he gulped softly before shaking his head,he sighed as he remembered,"I..I left my swords and armor...and Ambiance..."he whispered to hi\mself,his eyes staring at the floor.

Ambiance didn't know what happened. She remembered a bright light, and appearing in an unfamiliar locale. She looked inside of what appeared to be a decaying castle. She trembled a little, deciding the old building was safer than the outdoors.

 

She wandered for a good few minutes, elaborate designs decorated the windows and walls. She wandered into what appeared to be a throne room, a few familar and unfamiar ponies were gathered.

 

Her eyes lit up, she ran to Renegade and gave him a huge hug, collapsing him to the ground. She blushed, it seemed as though she was interrupting something.

Renegade blushed but smiled when he was hugged by his crush,he hugged back with so much comfort and affection,it was almost making her drown in it,he smiled more as he said loudly,"Ambiance!!! I can't believe your here!"He said with a huge smile,he then looked around and blushed,"Heh...sorry."He said softly.

Traveller stood up resolute. He felt pain in his hoof but he didn't care. Be trotted slowly down the dusty, broken path. He walked out of the city, it's walls towering above him. The sun shone and he walked. He didn't know where he was going and he didn't care. Maybe he'd meet that mare he saved. Maybe he'd get to thank the stallion that let him survive. Maybe...

She felt Renegade pour his affection all over her in a tight hug. She blushed crimson, and gave him a light peck on the cheek.

 

"O-oh, I'm sorry... d-did I i-inturrupt something important..." She awkwardly lowered her head, giving a very sheepish smile.

 

As she stood there, lightly tapped her hooves on the ground...

 

"I-if you don't mind... W-where is this place?"

Equinox was about to say something till he got a message. "Do you really think this is the best idea? Helping him after what he has said? Flame should be in jail" The mare said.  "I know, but if they help me get to Renegade then I can gain revenge...then I'll kill Flame for doing what he has done" Equinox said. 

 

"Understandable...but let me ask you Equinox. Is revenge really the answer? Clarent can't hear this but he has the wrong idea. Revenge won't solve anything it will only cause more pain" The mare said before the call ended

Renegade blushed ever more with the light peck,he smiled more though too,he said softly,"No...no I don't think so..."he said softly,hugging her closer and pressing his cheek to hers,then softly rubbing their cheeks together,he closed his eyes softly and looked down,he really did love this mare didn't he...and to think...he was supposed to die in those damned arenas...

Solar smiled when she saw the mare embrace the Stallion, it was a welcome sight to see so much love in the room. She looked over a Shadow and gave a small smile, she had been staring at him mot of the time they'd been here. "I'll let you inform her of what's going on and please stay here you'll be safe. Those of you that need medical treatment should head through the door over there." Solar pointed to a door on her right and to the left of everypony else. Shadow had noticed how olar hadn't taken her gaze off of him and the same could be said for him. "Make yourselves comfortable, there are bedrooms just down the hall on your right and the kitchen at the end. We're  well stocked on food and water. Shadow if you'll follow me I'll get you your payment." Solar dismissed herself and headed past the group. Shadow followed quickly behind her, they continued walking before exiting the castle and into a beautiful garden. Shadow couldn't believe his eyes, the sheer beauty of it was unimaginable. "You know I don't really need to get paid for this...if it means rebuilding Equestria I'll do what ever I can to help."

 

Solar turned and smiled warmly at Shadow. "Thank you Shadow that means a lot to me that you want to see Equestria in it's beauty like this again." Shadow nodded. "Well these flowers aren't the only thing beautiful out here." Solar raised an eyebrow at that, and started giggling before going into a fit of laughter. Shadow just blushed in embarrassment, he couldn't believe he used such a line on a beautiful mare. "You don't talk to many mares do you? Heh heh it's ok I don't really get complimented very often...besides it's nice to be around a stallion that thinks your pretty rather than look past you with seriousness all the time."

Renegade growled softly as a spike of pain pierced his stomach again,he looked down and slowly trotted to the medical bay,he laid down and said,"I cut open my stomach...it's kinda deep..."he said,looking at the ceiling before yawning slightly and sniffling softly.

Patterson and River kept on running hoping to be out of danger soon, until they reached the base of a mountain. They stopped to catch their breath, and Patterson saw a cave entrance up on the side of the mountain. 

 

Pat: "We should try to make the most of what's left of tonight. Let's take shelter in that cave up there."

 

They climbed up to the ledge in front of the cave entrance, but as soon as they got on top of the ledge, the general, whom they thought that they had left behind, jumped seemingly out of nowhere onto Patterson. Pinning him to the ground, he said,

 

General Hex: "Did you really think that you would lose me that easy? I am going to rip you to shreds, rebel scum!!"

 

He then extends two short blades, one on each hoof, and tries to stab Patterson. He barely dodges the attack, then he creates a large holo claw, with which he grabs the general and tosses him aside. He then gets up and creates his usual holo bostaff and shield  with which to defend himself against the immanent attack. As the fight begins to ensue, they slowly move inside the cave while engaging each other.

The medical pony took Renegade into the treatment room and started to work on patching him up. They made sure to stitch any internal injuries before  sewing up the wound and bandaging it up. "There you go, you should be ok now just make sure to take it easy for a few days." Shadow was still in the garden with Solar having just made a fool of himself in front of her, all he could was start laughing. It was suddenly silenced when he looked up to see Solar right in front of him. "Perhaps while you're here we can get to know each other better. For now why don't you go get some sleep, I'll see you in the morning ok Shadow." Solar excused herself brushing her tail under Shadow's chin making his legs shake. When she finally reached her room she was stopped by a guard. "Your highness you didn't tell them about..." Solar silenced him. "I told you not to call me that, and I haven't told them yet because I need to see that their loyalties are true...even Shadow's. Now if you'll excuse me I'm tired and need my rest for the night." With that the guard moved aside and let her into her room but not before having a rank removed for questioning her judgement.

Equinox thought for a long time before looking at the muramasa blade. "Clarent...do you think you will gain anything for getting revenge for Blaze...Vengeance will continue on for ever if you gain revenge then what does that do? I noticed what was going on and you know what...you had nothing but your master Clarent"

She saw Renegade, fresh out of his operation. She had calmed herself down immensly. At least there was something that made the world seem a little brighter.

 

She looked down at Renegade, and gave him a light kiss on the forehead. "J-just m-make a f-full recovery, okay?"

Renegade blushed lightly as she kissed his forehead,he then turned to the operator and smiled,"Thanks...I feel great...tomorrow,I'll finish this ones training."he said,pulling Ambiance into his and softly kissing HER forehead before smiling at her,he slowly slipped out of the bed and started to stretch his body,his back crackling as he made funny noises,"OIh man...that's good stuff..."he said before smiling at Ambiance kindly,"Listen...uhh...Ambiance...I-I don't like sleeping alone at nights...so...would you mind if I...shared a bed with you?"he asked softly,his cheeks a cherry red.

Firelight nuzzled Sky's cheek and said "Come on, let's go." they got up and Firelight led her over to a nearby guard. "excuse me, can you tell us where to go to get some sleep?" he asked. Sky yawned for good effect and drooped her eyelids. Firelight tried not to smirk at her melodrama. But then again he was pretty tired himself.

As the fight continues, Patterson is mostly on the defense as the general executes one slash after another. Then as Patterson sees an opening, he trades his bostaff for another shield, flips back, throws both of them in opposite directions, and creates two more and throws them, then he ducks. As the shields begin rapidly bouncing all over the cave walls, the general forgets Patterson for the moment, as he tries fiercely to dodge every shield. He jumps, flips, and rolls barely missing every single shield, then they begin to die down. And as the general stops and looks up, panting, his eyes are only met by a glowing star right before he is slammed across the cavern by Patterson. 

The general slowly stands back up again as Patterson draws closer, and then the fight rages on once again.

 

As the battle continues on, they keep exchanging attacks and defending. To some ponies, the fight felt as though it would last forever. Finally, the general made a low slash causing Patterson to jump in order to avoid it. And as he did, the general quickly turned around, and lifting his hind legs into the air, extended two more blades on his hind hooves.

 

General Hex: "Surprise"

 

He said, and with that, he bucked Patterson up into the cave ceiling, and he fell back down with a thud. 

 

River: "NOOO!!!"

 

She screamed as she watched the events unfurl. As the general walked up to a stunned, terribly wounded Patterson, he chuckled.

 

"A pity, your resistance was merely worthy of your swift demise."

 

He said, as he drew a sword with his mouth. He posed ready to strike his enemy down once and for all, when all of a sudden, he was stopped as a light blue glowing aura enveloped him.

 

"WHAT?!"

 

He said in confusion, as he was lifted helplessly into the air by River. As the aura grew brighter, he looked down at River realizing who was responsible, still unsure of exactly what was about to happen.

 

"Leave Him ALOOONE!!!!!!"

 

She yelled. And with a blinding light the general screamed as he was ripped apart on the subatomic level. The light died down as his atoms dispersed into nothingness. And after a few seconds of standing and breathing heavily, River ran over to Patterson, and while trying to contain her tears, she flips him on his side to look at his wounds.

Shadow smiled and made his way back into the castle getting around before making it to Firelight and Sky. "Hey you guys. Looking for a place to sleep as well?" The guard looked a the the group and pointed down the hall. "Come on guys let's get some sleep." Shadow started walking down the hall before finding some wooden doors that littered the hallway. Shadow bid goodnight to Firelight and Sky before heading inside one of the rooms. It was a really basic room but with a rather comfy looking bed and dresser, Shadow undid his armor and weapons on a rack and hopped into bed hoping to get some sleep for once in the last few days.
