Jack looked at Renegade and watched as he comforted her, he was sad, was this what the streets really looked like? Muggers and killers roamed free, the Peacekeepers stood by idly and watched this mare get chased down the streets "I will stay until she is ready to move back on her feet" Jack knew what fear was, and he couldn't bare seeing another pony like this he sat and waited, and he would wait for asking as he needed Jack looked at Traveler and smirked "I might have something for that" he pulled out a needle that contained nanites, things they were temporary they would get the job done, he handed it to Traveller and continued to wait.

Firelight stared at Blaze. He looked different now. He was a cyborg. Chills ran up and down his spine. He grabbed Renegade and whispered in his ear "We gotta go. Grab the girl and let's move it. Make it look natural though." His eyes shifted to Blaze again. He didn't seem to recognize Firelight but he still made an effort to hide his face.

Jack looked at the both of them, and he walked along side them, he knew Peacekeeper militia would try to follow, they would need Jacks help if they wanted to get though the town "Keep to the sidewalk and don't attract any unneeded attention, if militia asks who you are I will cover for you, but your a wanted criminal Firelight, they will start to suspect after a while" Jack knew it was Firelight all along and Jack didn't care, Not at the moment at least.

Firelight looked up in fear and shock. He had recognized him. But he kept a cool head as he walked. For some reason Blaze was helping them. But why? And did he just talk badly about the Peacekeepers? Something weird was going on here. He didn't trust this guy as far as he could throw him, but he didn't want to cauee trouble so he kept his mouth shut.

Jack was always weary of the Peacekeepers, but Jack was a soldier and he followed orders look and good soldier would, they walked for a while, Jack wondered of the intended destination "Where are we going?" Jack questioned, he wanted to know how far they were walking to, he could jump to the rooftops and provide a watchful eye.

In another section of town, an alarmed, slightly bruised, thief continues running down the streets. 

 

Thief: "Hmph! Make a fool out of me why don't you." 

 

He grumbles as he continues, and he doesn't stop until he reaches a building in a suburban area in the outer circle. He bursts into the hideout filled with thugs and he proceeds toward the back. 

 

"Boss! We have a trouble-maker!"

Boss: "And what have you done now you incompetent fool?"

"I have done nothing you...boss!"(he tries hard to control his anger)

"Then why are you wasting my time?"

"I was having a very profitable morning. The loot just kept coming in, I only had to kill two ponies, when out of nowhere, this stallion in a trench coat jumped me, disarmed me, and threatened to kill me if I didn't hand over all of my prof...I mean, your profit!"
"Again. Why are you wasting my time with your incompetence? I'm not going to help you just because somepony, who is probably smarter than you, nicks whatever pride you had left"(he says, with an annoyed look)

"Oh, but he's not just my problem, this may happen again and again, and then there goes a significant amount of your profit. And besides, I've seen him before, I think he's a rebel. Do you realize how much the peacekeepers would pay us...er, you if we were to hand him over."

"Hmm.(he pondered) It's hard not to agree with that, even if it came from an imbecile like you. Do you know where this rebel is?"

"No, not at the moment, but he comes into town every so often, usually around the Everfree corner..."

"Of course, the perfect hiding place. The Everfree Forest. Send a spy to the very edge of town in the Everfree corner. I want that bounty."

She stared blankly as Renegade held her. She listened to the conversation, silent. 

 

She swallowed, and finally spoke. "M-m-my n-name is Ambiance. I-i..." 

 

She let out several deep breathes. Calm down... breath. Just calm down...

 

She realized they needed to go. Her eyes were still wide. "W-we should go..."

 

She wanted to look calm, but she was still fearful.

"Where should we go Ambience, speak clearly" Jack knew this mare was terrified, but Jack didn't know how much longer he could keep them all safe, no pony else seemed to notice but Peacekeeper troops kept shooting quick glances at them while they walked. Jack knew the curiosity would get the best of them and they would soon come to check out why a dead commander was walking along side with a criminal and a stallion who was carrying a sniffling mare.

Renegade nodded at his friend and smiled as he said,"Yeah,that's a pretty name by the way,come on,I'll carry you."he said to her softly,keeping his arm around her neck so she knew that she would be protected if anything happened,he looked at the pony beside Firelight and gulped softly...a Peacekeeper...Oh man,I don't run well with those guys...hopefully they don't remember me...

"This isn't good, a squad is calling right now to confirm your bounty" said Jack, "We should hurry to where ever it is we need to go, the Peacekeeper generals will not care if i'm here they will just want you Firelight" Jack hoped that they urgent tone in his voice would encourage them to walk a little bit faster.

Firelight new he couldn't lead the commander to Shadow's safe house. He would have to find a way to shake him off. He looked around, trying to come up with a plan. He looked at Renegade and shot him a loaded look, trying to communicate with him silently. He hoped he would understand.

"I know, go back to your home, you don't need me anymore , but know one thing Firelight, your still my enemy" Jack jumped to the rooftop and galloped off, Jack himself couldn't believe that he just helped his mortal enemy and others. But that was the job of a Peacekeeper, or was it?

Shadow stopped mid-track and looked at the ground and growled in frustration. He was close to the safe house, he could go and protect Sky for Firelight. Shadow let out a sight I'm going to kill them myself if they don't make it back in an hour. Shadow reached his hideout and used his magic to unlock the door. "Sky it's me Shadow, I came back to make sure you were ok." Shadow had left the brick wall open, a risky move but if it allowed Firelight and the others back in easier then it would be alright.

 

(Sorry for not posting until now had early work this morning and then crashed once I got home.)

Sky looked up in surprise as Shadow burst into the house. She sighed with relief but tensed up again when she saw Firelight wasn't with him. "Where is Firelight? " she demanded.

 

Firelight allowed himself to breathe easier as the commander galloped away. He came up next to Renegade and Ambiance and said "We need to move. Let me take her." Without waiting for consent he threw the young mare over his back and galloped as fast as he could back to the alley with the secret entrance.

She was surprised as she was picked up and brought into an unfamiliar locale. Who are these ponies? Why am I here?

 

She shivered, intimidated by her surroundings.

 

"U-um..." She spoke softly. shaking. Her eyes were wide. "Wh-where are we?" She shrank with fear, yet felt a sense of safety.

Firelight arrived at the brick wall with Ambiance still on his back. The wall was open. Shadow must have left it open for them. He heard the mare on his back and he gently set her down. "Don't worry, we don't wanna hurt you. We are somewhere safe. We willmprotect you. Do you trust me?" he asked smiling.

Traveller groaned as he came to his shack. He slumped onto the wall next to his brown sack and opened it. He took a water bottle out , the last item. He poured water on his wound as he did the best he could to clean it. He grimaced and took the bandage off his wing. He wrapped it around his hoof, realizing the bullet was still in. He clenched his teeth as he did his best to ignore the pain. Finally he let out a wimped as he passed out, partly from exhaustion and partly from blood loss.

Shadow saw the worry on Sky's face and gave a sigh. "Don't worry they went to help somepony that was in trouble. They should be back here any minute." Just as Shadow was saying that he heard trotting coming from the stairwell and sure enough there was Firelight. Oh great he's carrying somepony with him as if this group wouldn't stick out enough as it is now. Shadow thought, looking at Firelight with distrust for running off, he let out a agitated sigh. "So who do we have with us now?"

She was still worried. She had nopony left to trust. She needed somepony to trust.

 

Her eyes still held a worried expression. She nodded to Firelight's question. She was still shaking...

 

Her attention was grabbed by the agitated stallion..

 

She opened her mouth as if to speak, but the only thing that came out was air. She continued to shake...

Firelight looked at Shadow in consternation as he opened the door. Behind him Firelight could see Sky with a slightly relieved expression on her face. He looked back at Shadow and said "Look I'm sorry but she needed help. She doesn't seem like the other ponies in this city. If we really are working to find a peaceful place, I really feel like we should take her with us. She could be useful. If it makes you feel better I will take responsibility for her." Just then Sky walked forward and said "No that's okay. I'll take care of her." She looked at Ambiance and beamed brightly and said "My name is Sky Flower. What's yours?"

Shadow grumbled at what Firelight said, he was right but that wasn't the issue. "I'm not saying that you shouldn't have helped her. It's just that you acted without thinking of the consequences. What if you had brought the guard with you...there's already a bounty out on your head and soon to be one on me for aiding in your escape. I doubt my blades could stop millions of screaming bullets coming at my face or even Sky's." Shadow let out a low sigh as he looked at Sky and the new mare that she was trying to comfort. "Look time isn't on our side in this and we'll still need to train both of them if we're going to survive getting to my contact. Speaking of which..." Shadow walked to the living room, moving the couch and then the rug it was on away reveling a hidden door. His black magic aura lifted the door open. "We need to get going, I don't mean to cut the greetings short but if we don't get out of town now we'll have a bigger problem on our hooves."

Renegade sighed as he looked in the wall,he looked outside and closed it with all his might,it was heavy,but he closed it,he then looked to the mare and looked back at his companions,then to the other mare,Sky,he let out a warm smile and went up to hug her,he smiled,"Oh man,it's been good minute since we last saw each other aint it?"he asked her softly,holding her out at arms length with a smile,his bright blue eyes shimmering.
