He watches the sheriff sigh and then facehoof himself, the sheriff trotted out if town hall, Rye assumes he was probably sick of Rye messing around all the time, "Anyway I probably have some financial shit to do so I'll catch you later" Rye opened his office door and grabbed his swively chair and went into the office to finish his mayor duties.

Ground Breaker sat in a high backed comfortable fake leather chair behind the Inns counter which served as both the check in desk and the Bar. He could sit here all day and just use his magic to make drinks and give out room keys, all the while taking money from other ponies. That suited him just fine, this way his old body didn't stress itself too much. And he could not stress himself so he could do his evening and morning exercises with no aches.

 

His inn wasn't overpriced, though that was only because he was retired and didn't need the money. He had a nice little manor on the edge of town with a few acres. His life in this town was good. He leaned back deeper into his chair and dragged deeply on his pungent exotic cigar.

Lightning Flicker woke up several hours later in a daze with his book on his face and drooling. He let out a grown and pushed the book off his face. Once he'd woken himself up, he walked back out to the counter to give the room key back and say thanks. He then trotted down the street to the breakfast bar. He saw no reason in leaving just yet; and by now he assumed the rumors about changelings were false. He trotted in a took a seat by the window.

" That would be great!" Renatus replied as he turned to the pony. He still wasn't exactly ok that the pony had listened in on his conversation. Though I might be able to turn this to my advantage...also when was drinking allowed in a bookstore? He thought as he waited on the stallion's reply.

"Well no problem. Might as well help since the mayor has more important things to do" he said taking another sip. "Alright if you two would follow me I could show you where the in was" said the yellow Pegasus walking out towards the town inn. He took the bottle and put it in his sattle bag for later.

Sapphire woke up in her moms blood, she grabbed the spear and a few bits, a hat, and a cape and started walking into town "Hmphgmp" She glared at the ground and sighed, she walked into the town and stood there, holding the spear "Now...Were would a murderer be?"

Night Comb trotted to his house. It was a small 3 room house, enough for him. He came to the door and noticed his broken lock. Breaking and entering wasn't common, but it was usually extremely easy, save for his house and the commercial buildings like the mayors or his store. As he entered he saw his few possessions scattered. Someone had thrown it apart, yet, by the looks of it, hadn't taken anything. He began placing what e had back. He finished in minutes. He chuckled. 'Everyone says I need more.' He mumbled before slumping into his couch and eating an apple while waiting for his break to end.

Renatus followed the slightly drunken stallion as he led them though the town, though Renatus paid close attention, trying to catch every detail of the town in case he should need it. As they neared the inn, he noticed something that caught his attention, a small diner that was located near to the inn. That might be interesting....he thought.

Ground Breaker used his magic to pull several bottles from the shelf behind him, whiskey, lemonade, absinthe, egg white and plenty of chipped ice.  After a minute of working his magic and pulling a fresh glass he made himself a rattlesnake cocktail.

 

 

He sipped from it and tapped his cigar into an ash tray waiting for the nightly guests to arrive.

Silver: "Okay. Let's go" The two stallions walked into the house and found the bedroom which was covered in blood. The sherriff gaged a little while Atlas just looked at the body in disgust not even fliching. He'd seen worse. Atlas stood next to the body and examined it. It was defenatly a murder. No doubt about it. 

Atlas: "Hey sherriff? Was your town invaded by the Changelings back when the whole Canterlot wedding invasion thing happen?"

Silver: "No. Why?" He said looking away.

Atlas: "I just can't help but notice that the wounds here were done by a Changeling dagger. The cuts are rough and not smooth which means a jagged weopon and only Changelings do that"

Silver: "And how the hell would you know that? How can you even look at that thing?"

Atlas: "I've seen a lot sherriff. I've been to the Changeling Kingdom. Never going back too"

Silver: "Are you sure it's Changeling?"

Atlas: "Positive. You sir have a huge problem on your hooves. I would close off the town and stop all access and exit routes. The Changeling can't be permited to leave"

Silver: "And why should I take orders from you?"

Atlas: "Who else would you?" Silver Star grunted and went back outside to give the news.

Silver: "We know who killed your ma. A Changeling is in town. Or at least we think"

Sapphire stared at silver "Wh...Really? Oh my gosh..." She slowly backed up to a wall "How...." She then fell to her knees, crying "Now i cant do anything, I could never harm a pony...If i find them, how will i tell if there a changling?" Her eyes were huge, she layed down on the ground

Atlas: "No! If we do that the Changeling will know it's been discovered and be careful. It'll make a mistake soon and then we'll bag him"

Silver: "Right. Do you any place to stay tonight ma'am? A relative or a friend?"

She wiped her eyes and slowly got up "Ill be fine with sleeping out here though, iv done it before" She had a sad smile on her face, she then sighed "Also, I dont know what happend to my dad.." She yawned a little and looked at them

 

Atlas: "We can't" He stepped out of the house blood on his hooves from the body. "We can only keep an eye out and pray. Trust nopony"

Renatus had thanked the pony and was about to enter the inn when he saw an chance opportunity he couldn't miss as he saw one of the waiters heading behind to the back alley with a trash bag in mouth. With slow careful movements, he followed the waiter into the back alley, his hunger pushing him on as he made sure nopony was watching him. The waiter had opened the dumpster and was about to throw the trash in when he noticed Renatus and asked, " Can I help you?" Renatus only smiled, his fangs glinting in the moonlight. The waiter gasped and was about to yell out when Renatus tackled him and then bit into him, injecting him with a paralyzing venom, then dragged him behind the dumpster and ripped fed of him. Draining him of all emotions and after satisfying his hunger temporarily for another four days, opened the dumpster and threw the now lifeless body in and shut the lid as he walked out of the alley. Now in the form of a brown earth pony with a black mane.

Lightning flicker awoke in the restaurant. Due to hearing some loud noises outside. He couldn't believe that he'd fallen asleep whilst eating and secondly he couldn't believe no pony had woken him up! He walked outside and saw 2 ponies walking back to town from a house on the edge of town. He then heard the scuffles again and was just about to peer round the corner before he stopped himself and had a slight shock. What had every pony in town been talking about yesterday?  "...changelings" He whispered under his breath very softly. He then flew off trying to find the sheriff.

Shadow wondered into a small town looking for someone to trade with . She was a traveling merchant that sells rare items. What ponies didn't know is that Shadow is also a changeling. Every time a sucker falls for a "rare" item which are rare, she brings them to a private to feed on them. She sees an inn.

"Perfect place to sell ". She said. She started heading towards the inn.
