Predictions for the next five years of FiM

In response to Hasbro's announcement that MLP FiM will continue for at least five more years, while the task of maintaining the quality of the show seems difficult or daunting, I feel somewhat optimistic because I believe that what will set FiM apart from the slow and painful deaths of shows whose names shall remain anonymous-*cough*Spongebob*cough*Familyguy*cough cough*- is the amount of dedication and enjoyment that is put into the show. So as long as the show's staff keeps putting in the same commitment and passion that they've been for the previous years, I have know they've got both, I know that MLP will manage to stay afloat and maintain its charm and zeal.

Now getting to the topic at hand, I'm excited and curious as to what events will transpire in the show's future. The one aspect FiM is known and admired for is how it's a cartoon that actually changes in term of characters and the story itself. The question is what will change in the years to come? What occurence will take place? What new characters might be introduced? What will happen that may change everything that we know so far and the course of the entire story? (....Too much enthusiasm?)

Now to everyone with a curious and imaginative mind, would you kindly use those noggins of yours and discuss the topic at hand. (Or hoof.)

If you ask me, the show will introduce new characters but they won't affect the main story at all and the writers will explore the areas of Equestria that we have not explored yet to expand more for an opportunity to more episodes centered around adventures.

So that's how I see the next five years of FiM going in that direction.

Everypony dies.

Okay, that's obviously a joke, but wouldn't that be a twist?  On topic, I honestly have no idea what's going to happen.  If I were them, I would have run out of ideas by the time Magical Mystery Cure aired.  Clearly, they haven't, so I still hold faith, but I do have my reservations.  Maybe they could start some sort of epic 5-season plot arc?  That would turn it into a very different show, but I feel that it could be interesting.

Maybe the main characters will share more spotlight, extending the protagonism to more secondary characters like big Mac, or Cadance and Shinning Armor. Maybe an Equestria Girls show wouldn't hurt either

How do you know everypony isn't already dead? Maybe Equestria is something like a purgatory state :o

On topic, I predict the show will be reduced to irredeemable shit because this is a cash-grab scheme by hasbro, I almost certain, to milk this series for as long as they can.

Everypony dies.

If George R.R. Martin was lead writer for MLP that would actually happen.

I think if us Bronies stay as consistent as we have been we could very well be a little responsible for which direction the show takes. Half way into season 4 and you can already see all the shout outs Hasbro has given us. Staff of the show respond well to us also, Meghan McCarthy in particular is like a changeling that feeds off of brony feedback.

Big Mac and Cheerilee getting married (?) CMC getting their Cutie Marks and growing up, being mares. Vinyl and Octavia confirm that they live together or an episode about them. Derpy episode. More Equestria locations, maybe other realms or some kind of new planet (?) New villains, Twilight fully grown (Like Celestia), all Mane 6 being princesses. a New element of harmony Mane Six being Mane Seven (would be exciting, that can be Trixie?) More Daring do episodes. Granny Smiths passing (yes that can be happen but idk in mlp theres %1 in a 1.000.000 chance that could happen. Lauren Faust comes to Equestria (her name can be different in the show coming as Celestias mother or Celestia mentions that she have a mother), Luna episode, Shining Armor and Cadence having a Child. Discord and Celestia loving each other or Discord having crush on Celestia. Spike grown up. Breezie creatures from G1. Button Mash episode (or joining the CMC). Going to Human world and seeing bronies. (Maybe metioning them or saying that theres a show called My Pretty Pony or MLP and got a massive fanbase). TF2 OC's on Ponyville as a Backround pony (Why not? :D). Spotting Slender and seeing that its a costume that Pinkie wears (Forget S4 E9). Pinkie break into 4th wall and we saw what she do there (like POV). Return of Cheese Sandwich. Spell that chances Mane 6 to Colts and someponies having crush on them. More would come but thats all for now :D

I find trying to predict the future of a show like MLP to be an exercise in foolishness. They have made changes to the status quo of the show to keep it fresh, thankfully it hasn't stagnated as much as most other cartoons. The one thing I am hoping for is closure. I hope that when this show ends, it closes all of its arcs and doesn't really raise too many questions that would be left unanswered. However, cartoons such as these have a track record of not getting the proper finale. I mentioned in a previous post in that there are famous finales for live action shows, especially sitcoms like Mary Tyler Moore, M*A*S*H, and Seinfeld, but rarely are there any such moments for cartoons. They are either cut off before anything is resolved (Sonic SatAM being one of the more popular examples) or done to death (shows the OP mentioned). I'm sure no one on the show staff knew for sure that there was going to be a season 4 when the script for Magical Mystery Cure was locked. That's the uncertainty that floats around in this industry.

All we can really do is hope for the best.

In Season 8 they will have Nicholas Cage guest star in the episode titled 'The Wicker-Pony' and he'll say some nonsense about a shark in a bag, tell Spike at gunpoint to "GET OFF THE HORSE!!!" and end the episode with a beehive falling on his head to which he'll shout "AGH. NOT THE BEES!!!!!"

"No matter how many times others tell you you're great, all the praise in the world means nothing if you don't feel it inside.......Sometimes to feel good about yourself, you gotta let go of the past. That way, when the time comes to let your greatness fly, you'll be able to light up the whole sky." -Cathy Weseluck as Spike

Princess Twilight Sparkle will fully embrace her royal title and slowly shift from protagonist to mentor for the next band of adventurers.  She should become Trixie's teacher, or the relationship between them should be expanded upon.  Chances of a romantic relationship with Flash Sentry is high.

Spike will grow into an adult dragon and be an ambassador to the land of the dragons.  Please?

Fluttershy will for one reason or another be brought to the lands of Zebras and establish relations between them and ponies.  She will also improve relations between ponies and griffins, and thereby be appointed Ambassador of Equestria.

Applejack will...get laid, I guess.  That's really all I got.

Pinkie Pie will become Twilight's chancellor.

Rarity and Rainbow Dash both have very obvious paths they're going down.  If you can't figure out where they'll be in season 9, you're not doing this brony thing right.

The CMC will get their cutie marks and spend time trying to figure out how to incorporate each of their talents into on company.  And if they don't...we have a problem.

I'm also getting the impression that Celestia is going to die.  More likely, she's going to "ascend" in some way, passing her responsibilities to the next generation.
