Vulpix had been following behind Oddish, though she paused to eye the Growlithe up and down as they walked past the dog pokemon.  The little fox doesn't say anything as she walks past him, though she does wink and growl playfully at the other fire type before racing to catch up with Oddish.

Trying to make small talk with the leader of her newly appointed party, so that she could start making her way into the good graces of the group's hierarchy, Vulpix tries to keep up with the excited grass type.  "So, darling...  The rescue team is yours, then?"  Not Vulpix's first guess, but...  She was willing to roll with it.

 

"Er, guess that makes you...  An experienced explorer?  I'm sure this will be a wonderful experience, after all."  She wasn't really talking about anything, just kind of sucking up.  "I do hope this dungeon isn't far, I -am- eager to make a good first impression."

WHOA! There's a bunch of new members here now! Jeez, I should really start paying attention more here! Okay!

 

"Yeah, Yeah! My name's Shuppet! And over there is Froakie, and uh... Nuzleaf! Yeah! I need to remember your names and all! Oh my gosh, this is going to be FUN! I've never went on a adventure like this before! But I can do my best! Yeah! And what do you mean by at your service?" Shuppet asked excitedly, hovering right up into the Growlithe's face and staring right at him.

Froakie chuckled at Shuppet's comment. "He's just being honorable. Something I trust this team will be good at, yes?" Froakie says before nodding back at Growlithe. Despite the fact Froakie didn't know these Pokemon, must less the Growlithe that was just arriving, he liked Growlithe the best. Something about the way he talked and held himself up seemed trustworthy. "Well then I suppose we should follow Oddish and the others to the first dungeon. Maybe I can show you all a few tricks along the way." Froakie said walking [or hopping?] off.

Froakie chuckled at Shuppet's comment. "He's just being honorable. Something I trust this team will be good at, yes?" Froakie says before nodding back at Growlithe. "Mmhm." Nuzleaf sounded bored. He smirked at the idea of Growlithe's honor, and perhaps more so at Froakie's statement expecting it. He trodded along behind Froakie, clearly not really present at all. His mind was far away, far away.

Honor. Pshh. He'd gotten along fine without it most of his life. There was restraint there, but sometimes there are things more important than being all honorable and righteous and whatnot, Nuzleaf thought.

Cottonee looked up to see her two partners leaving and hovered higher into the air. She gave Altaria a little goodbye wave with her leaf and hurried after them. Hearing Shuppet behind her, Cottonee was incredibly glad she got paired with Vulpix and Oddish, who seemed to be simmering down just a liiiitle bit.

Dedenne blinked as the cloud of dirt finally began to settle, sneezing and rubbing his eyes uncomfortably.  He had been a little too close to the cliff's edge when the rockslide had happened, so it had managed to pull the little fairy mouse down with it.  Fortunately, as he began slowly moving his stubby limbs down below the cliff in the resulting debris, there didn't seem to be any lasting damage; maybe a few cuts and bruises, but nothing too bad.  Plus, his small eight-inch size allowed for easy maneuvering between the large fallen rocks, which thankfully missed him.  Skittering out of the majority of the rocks and onto the banks of the rockslide, Dedenne was able to view the damage in whole.  It was a pretty nasty rockslide...he hoped no one else was caught-up in it.

 

But now the real question...was where to go next.  Dedenne sat down on the ground with a 'plop', stuffing a rock in his cheek to suck on as he contemplated his options, his fuzzy brow furrowed in thought.

Oddish giggled like an idiot, as she noted all the teammates had introduced themselves to each other, and looked about ready to go. Infact, she was, headed towards the town already. "Alright, everyone! Let's go!" Oddish said, expecting all the other pokemon to follow her.

 

As they arrived in town, a Bagon, Poochyena, and Rattata were sitting at a table. The Bagon was eating a royal gummi, and the Poochyena seemed to be barely participating in the conversation they were having. Speaking of the conversation, it was quite loud, which seemed to be the cause of no other pokemon around. In fact, Kecleon's shop had closed as well. All of the other shops were closed too, but there must have been a different reason for that.

Dedenne's ears twitched as an unfamiliar noise reached them.  It sounded like...explosions?  No, it wasn't that loud, but something was definitely happening and naturally Dedenne was curious as ever to find out what.  Spitting the rock out that he was sucking on, the electric mouse scampered atop of a particularly large boulder nearby in an attempt to discover the noise's source.

 

"Eee!"  He squeaked, jumping away just in time to avoid the blue energy ball that had been hurtling towards him.  The boulder blew apart upon contact from the energy ball, and then almost simultaneously the rubble was collected and moved elsewhere by an invisible force.  Nose twitching, Dedenne's ears perked up as he picked up on the faint scent of nearby Pokemon, probably masked by the dirt cloud from earlier.

 

"Hello...?"  Dedenne called out, his radio-antennae whiskers sparkling with nervous electricity.  He wasn't sure if these Pokemon were friendly or not, but the slums taught him to never trust a stranger and to always be cautious.  Thus he made sure that he had an easy escape route if that ended up being necessary later on.

"Uh..." Growlithe was wordless as he watched the Vulpix go. Shaking his head he regained his senses.

He turned to face Shuppet and the rest of the group.

"What I mean is, my loyalty is yours. Simply say it and I will do it" Honor, it was the way he was raised. still to see so much energy in this Shuppet made he think he might just not be able to take things peacefully.

"I also will protect others as well" He looking towards Froakie and Nuzlock. he saw the Nuzlock give an odd smile. Growlithe didn't pay him much attention, still he could help but distrust dark types. He is willing to trust them, but he would be on his guard.

Vulpix turned her head to look at the three pokemon at the table, one of her ears twitching.  Their conversation was quite loud, especially with sensitive ears like hers...  The fact that no one else even seemed to be around brought her curiosity to a peak, and Vulpix slowly comes to a stop.  Glancing at Oddish and Cottonee, the fire type tilts her head slightly.  "Just a moment dears, what's going on with the town?  It's so quiet...  Give me just a minute, I want to see if those fine gentlemon know what's happening."

 

She didn't wait for a reply - it would be faster if she just asked, after all!  Reaching up with one of her front paws to briefly make sure the tuft of curly fur on top of her head looked nice, Vulpix put on a charming smile as she walked towards the table.  Her fan of tails swayed slightly as she walked, and the fire fox batted her eyelids briefly as she stepped up to the other pokemon.  "Excuse me?  I'm sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if you boys knew why the town was so quiet?"  Vulpix seems to get just the faintest hint of a pout on her face.  "I'm not exactly from around here, so I'm afraid I'm left in the dark as to what's going on..."

The Togekiss stopped firing the explosive aura spheres as it noticed the Dedenne. Not so much heard him, per say, as the blasts were quite loud. "Oh. Sorry, I'm afraid I didn't see you there." As she spoke, Togekiss spun around. She seemed to be speaking in a soothing tone, but it might have been just her regular speaking voice. The Froslass also turned around, but said nothing. 

 

"Hmmm... I don't believe I've seen you around before..." Togekiss said. "Oh, sorry! I suppose I should introduce myself. I am Togekiss, and the one over there wearing the bow is Froslass. The other is-"

 

Togekiss was cut off by the yellow thing who had appeared to be stuck under the rocks earlier, burrowing under the earth, then popping up beside her. "AHA!" It exclaimed loudly as it jumped through the air. "Togekiss, you know better than to introduce me, for me! I am of course Heliolisk, little one! At your service..."

 

Togekiss regarded the Heliolisk in a rather annoyed fashion, but didn't say anything regarding his impulsive behaviour. "May I ask what you're doing here?" Togekiss asked the Dedenne, ignoring Heliolisk who now seemed to be basking in his supposed glory. "Oh... And may I ask your name as well?

Vulpix had managed to grab the trio's attention. Her demeanor was certainly something that interested the three, or at least the Bagon and Rattata, who jumped at the opportunity to answer her question, though Rattata stopped talking so Bagon could. "Ah! Sorry miss, were you looking for somethang?" The Bagon talked with an accent so obnoxious it just had to be imitated. "I'm afraid there was a rockslide on the western outskirts of town. I do hope that no one got hurt..." The Bagon's concern seemed far from genuine. But, he also seemed very... interested in Vulpix's company.

Vulpix gasps quietly, raising up a paw to cover her mouth.  "A rockslide?"  The fire Pokemon flutters her eyelashes a couple times before lowering her paw, her ears drooping slightly.  "Why, that's terrible!  I do hope no one was unfortunate enough to be caught..."  Vulpix would be practically oozing the image of a concerned, innocent girl.  Well, she truly was concerned, the innocent part just came naturally to her.

 

"I suppose I was just surprised to see a town like this so quiet...  That would certainly explain why, though!  Thank you so much, boys.  I wasn't exactly looking for anything specific...  Well, not at the moment..."  She lets that statement hang for them to interpret however they would like, just the faintest hint of a smile playing across her lips.

 

"I'll let you get back to your conversation, darlings, I didn't mean to interrupt.  You've been very helpful though...  Thank you."  Vulpix slowly turns to head back the way she'd come, 'accidentally' letting a couple of her tails brush against the tip of Bagon's nose as she turns around.

His eyes darting between the two Pokemon, Dedenne regarded them with respectful caution.  Togekiss seemed friendly enough, though.  Froslass, on the other hand, was honestly kind of creepy.  The little fairy mouse jumped when the orange and black Pokemon popped out of nowhere, taking him completely by surprise.  He was kind of funny, Dedenne guessed, and he perked up a little bit to mirror Heliolisk's enthusiasm.  His attention then returned to Togekiss, who had just asked him a question.

 

"My name's Dedenne," He began, picking up his long tail to play with as he talked.  "I was on my way to town, nene, when I...well, the landslide happened..."  Gasping, Dedenne dropped his tail and snapped his head around to scan the landslide debris.  "Oh...oh NO!"  Scampering around in frantic little circles, tears began to well up in the mouse's eyes as he realized something very important was missing.  "My...my bag.  I lost it, nene!  Nonono..."  His cheeks sparked with electricity as his emotions escalated.  He just COULDN'T lose his bag; it had everything he owned in it!

"Take care, mis-" Before Bagon could finish his sentence, Vulpix brushed her tails against his nose, causing him to flush a bright shade of red. He panicked and quickly looked to the other two, to see how he should react. Or rather, how he should react in such a situation. Both had also panicked, and were looking away as well. "Uhmmm..." He began. Before he said anything worthwhile, however, Oddish had bounced up to the group.

 

"Hai Bagon! Long time no see!" Oddish said, as she had appeared beside Vulpix. Bagon looked at the Oddish, who had interrupted him, like she was a saving grace, before shaking his head and turning his expression to a scowl. "Pah. Should'a known you'd be wit' dat one. It's unfitting for a lady, y'know miss. Bagon said, as the Rattata sneered. Bagon then acknowledged the Cottonee. "I'd suggest both ya leave before that one gets ya hurt.

Togekiss didn't seem too worried about the Dedenne's panic, as her calm and poised stature was still evident. Froslass also seemed indifferent, and Heliolisk was still basking in his own glory. "Oh my," Togekiss spoke. "That certainly seems like a problem. It must have fallen under the rocks. No worries. We'll find your bag, I can assure you."

 

Heliolisk had tuned back into the real world at this point. "Oh, a bag you say?!" He asked, enthusiastically. "Well, I have seen a bag! Do not fret, little one! Heliolisk is here to save the day! Heliolisk once again dug into the ground. A few rocks in the slide shook, and some fell, but the pokemon came back out with... a bag? Whatever it was, it was coated in dirt. "I believe this is your lost item? Well, here! The glorious Heliolisk has retrieved it for you!" Heliolisk spoke in a slightly more booming voice than before. A feat of which didn't seem possible unless you heard it for yourself. "I'm afraid it's a bit dirty at the moment, but I just so happen to rock the au natural look as well. If I can make it look good, surely a bag can do it too!" Togekiss looked at the Heliolisk with great distaste. ...Hadn't he just insulted himself?

Vulpix blinks as she glances from Oddish to Bagon, taking a mental note of the expressions that Bagon's team had taken on.  "Oh, you're acquainted with one another, darlings?"  Sweet and innocent, she was still doing her best to keep up that impression.  "Oddish dearie, Bagon here was just telling me about a rockslide west of town!  Doesn't that sound terrible?"

 

Turning her attention back to Bagon, Vulpix flutters her eyelashes at the dragon type.  "But...  Why would we get hurt, darling?  Sure Oddish seems quite excitable, but she's asked us to join her on a rescue team..."  The fire type's voice drops to a quiet, playful growl.  "Hehe, not to mention that I -can- fend for myself, darling...  Playing a little rough isn't necessarily a bad thing."  She winks with that final bit of innuendo,

Clearly he didn't like the implications in her actions.

Growlithe was walking at a slow pace when he caught up with the group. He tilted his head and looked at the another team they came across. -Did I miss something?- he thought, as he let out a small flame from his mouth. looking closer at the other team he noticed Bagon, a dragon type. He smiled, he had always wanted to meet one and fight one. Walking closer he heard a little, but enough to make out that a rockslide had happened. That slapped him out of his bored state. He would put off his challenge against the dragon until another time.
He watched Froakie hop off to the rockslide.

Finding out she was a Fairy type was a new development for her, and she hadn't quite gotten used to it yet, forgetting that she had the type advantage over Bagon. "O-Oh... I... I'm sure we'll be alright with her..." Cottonee instantly regreted speaking and pushed herself back into her fluff, going slightly more behind Vulpix than she had been before. Hopefully the scary Pokemon hadn't heard her...

 "Right behind you" Growlithe said as he ran after Froakie.

"Oh come on, guys." Oddish said, with clearly no worry in her voice. "The L.S.R.T. will take care of it! No need to get all panicked!" The grass type then bounded after Growlithe and Froakie, leaving Cottonee, Vulpix, and Nuzleaf to fend for themselves. 

 

Upon arrival to the rock slide site, four pokemon could be seen. A Dedenne, Froslass, Togekiss, and Heliolisk. The Heliolisk was very vocal, and could be seen holding something. He didn't seem to notice the three approach, as he was much too invested in himself. Froslass did notice, however, and prodded at the Togekiss to inform her. Togekiss spun around to face the three pokemon. "Oh... Oddish!" Togekiss said, somewhat surprised. "But... Altaria isn't with you? That idiot. Uhm... What are you doing here? And who are these pokemon?" Oddish didn't seem to notice Togekiss' questions, for some reason. Her gaze was fixated on the Froslass.

Bagon blushed again, and glanced away from the Vulpix. He didn't seem to hear Cottonee, but did notice that Oddish had left. He huffed, before looking back to the Vulpix. trying to look as "suave" as he did before. Which wasn't at all, but can't blame a guy for trying. "What? Haven't heard the story, then?" He said, with a chuckle. "There's a reason that old bird's with her. They say that, once upon a time, the two of them we-" Before Bagon could tell the story, a sudden glimmer of red light appeared in the centre of the table they were sitting at. It quickly disappeared, however. "Welp..." Bagon began. "Looks like we gots to go. See you two ladies. It'd be a shame to see ya' hurt." With that, Bagon, Poochyena, and Rattata walked off in a similar direction Oddish had gone.

Nuzleaf sulked, ready to take up the rear of the group. It was clear they weren't really supposed to divide into teams until they were in the dungeon, and anyway, this Bagon was kinda amusing. He sat, fiddling with a blade of grass on the ground, content to listen to this conversation. 

 

The Bagon ran off, and flicking the grass aside, Nuzleaf noticed that they were being left behind. "Come on, you two, it's time we got to the rockslide with the rest of'em." He patted the timid-looking Cottonee on the back a bit, then started walking. 

 

Upon reaching eyeshot of the rockslide, Nuzleaf came to a dead halt, lurching a bit. He squinted his eyes. That Togekiss looked familiar. Maybe he'd be better off just waiting for the others at the dungeon.

Vulpix blinked as she was suddenly left alone with Cottonee, turning to look at the little grass fairy hiding behind her.  Smiling at the other pokemon, Vulpix winks before patting Cottonee with her tails.  "Come on darling, we don't want to get left behind do we?"  

 

After racing to catch up with the others, Vulpix passes Nuzleaf who had paused for some reason to walk up next to Oddish.  She briefly thought back to what Bagon had been saying when they parted, but pushed it to the back of her mind so she could focus on the situation at hand.  Taking in the sight of all the new pokemon at the rockslide, Vulpix turns to look at the Togekiss who Oddish seemed to be ignoring.

"Oh my, what happened here?  I do hope no one was hurt!"  Vulpix flutters her eyelashes a couple times as she looks over the wreckage of the rockslide before glancing at the Togekiss again.  Looking from Togekiss to Oddish, Vulpix tilts her head and waves a paw in front of the grass type's face.  "Oddish, sweetie?  Are you there?"

Togekiss took her attention away from Oddish when she realized she wasn't going to get an answer. She then acknowledged a new arrival. It seemed to look at her as if it knew her, but she had no time to address something of the sort.

Oddish broke out of her daze and reanimated in a way only Oddish could. "Oh, my bad! Sorry. I got sidetracked!" Oddish said, bouncing around yet again. "I've put together an exploration team known as Team Radiance! So we're going to a Mystery Dungeon, but we wanted to see if anyone was hurt." She explained to Togekiss, then turned her attention back to Vulpix. "No need to worry! These kind of things happen all the time here!" 

 

Togekiss appeared to be internally screaming, though her calm demeanor might prove otherwise to those who couldn't read facial expressions well. She merely nodded in response to Oddish's exposition. "Well, I wish you luck, then." She said, quietly.

 

The entrance to the Mystery Dungeon was only a bit south of the rockslide. It was almost in viewing distance from it. The entrance merely looked like the entrance two a cave. Three figures could be seen slipping into it, but it was unknown who they were.

Dedenne beamed as soon as Heliolisk reappeared from beneath the rocks with his green tassel bag.  Still misty eyed, he wiped his face and giggled at Heliolisk's silly antics.  "Heehee...oh gosh, nene..."  The mouse pokemon moved over to Heliolisk to retrieve his bag, looking up at him with an admiring gaze.  "Thank you so, so, sOOOOO much, sir!  You're...you're like a hero!"  Blinking with sudden realization, Dedenne gasped and looked between all three of the older Pokemon.  "Whoa!  Wait a sec, nene...are you a Rescue Team?!"

With Oddish back in the animated state that Vulpix was now assuming how she always acted, the small fire fox shrugs slightly before glancing at Togekiss.  "Er...  Sorry for getting in your way, darling.  We'll just...  Keep moving."  Laughing quietly with a small smile playing across her muzzle, Vulpix slowly turns to start walking towards the entrance of the Mystery Dungeon with her usual sway in her step.

 

Vulpix would never admit it, but...  Dare she say, she was excited?  She knew that Oddish had mentioned that this dungeon wasn't all that dangerous, but still!  It was going to be her first time exploring with these pokemon that, if everything turned out well, were going to be her team!  Adventure, finding new treasures, meeting new people...  She had to make a good impression, because this was going to be her first step!

 

Arriving at the entrance to the dungeon, she turns around to wait for the others.  Oddish had mentioned them being on the same team, along with that shy little Cottonee...  So, there was nothing left for Vulpix but to wait for them!  As she sits there she lifts up one of her front paws, flexing her toes so that she could take a closer look at her stubby little canine claws.  Hmm, I do hope I don't chip one...  I'll have to remember to watch where I step, I suppose.

"Well it seems like everything is alright. I'll just go on ahead to the Mystery Dungeon." As Froakie turned to the dungeon's entrance he noticed three strange figures sneak into the cave. "Hm, that seems strange." The frog Pokemon thought to himself. "Perhaps this first dungeon won't be as easy as we thought." He soon arrived at the entrance around the same time Vulpix did. "So what brings you here?" Froakie asks, trying to make small talk while waiting for his other teammates. "Looking for adventure? Want to get stronger? Seeking vengeance against a Pokemon that dishonored you and your family?" Froakie asked. He doubted any of this was true as he watched Vulpix look at her paw in vain.
