Why does everyone rate Lauren Faust so highly?

It's okay, you have your opinions and I have mine. People have different ways of thinking. :3

Yeah, that's fine.  I just started feeling sorry for Lauren Faust with some of the posts calling her butthurt for caring about what's being done to the show she created.  :( As long as you don't think she has no right to care about her own show at all, I don't really mind your opinion, though.  :P

If you look at My Little Pony back then from the 1980s when it debuted and you'll see why but here's how it sounds like before Lauren herself came into the franchise and the show:

G1 is a good show for what it is from being in the action/fantasy genre for cartoons and it had some boys as fans but the characters, despite the plausible story lines and the action scenes in the show, are just flat, cardboard and have no specific character traits that makes viewers relate to them in some way. Series 2 of G1 (there was no G2 at the time) improved on the character aspects but the writing was an epic fail and it didn't really do much in favor for My Little Pony Tales. As for G3 and G3.5, they're right at rock bottom of the franchise and the show in general due to the poor and weak writing, flat characters, prissiness overload, any of the flaws that made the MLP cartoons suffer all brought into one despite any of the benefits that it had for little girls.

Lauren is actually a godsend and yes, she is overrated but that was due to her part in the show's rebirth, creating the new series in her own vision and giving us some bits of nostalgia from shows and cartoons that we fans have seen during our childhoods. Her ideas for episodes and her input on the show got approved when she was given the project and when she got the green light for it when she pitched the idea along with her pitch bible.

She may be overrated but that's your opinion and I can respect that but to me, she's a really amazing person that has brought together something with much potential  that just didn't get off the ground at the time within MLP. The cast and crew without her could do really good but without Lauren and her ideas for MLP and the reborn show back then, this whole fandom never would've happened.

If you look back at the beginning of My Little Pony when it first started, you can see why Lauren Faust had to reboot the series with the help of Hasbro approving it and seeing her vision come true was really good to see it. It's your opinion on how you feel that she is overrated, but with every opinion there will always be some feedback from it.

Basically, cuz if it weren't for you, I highly dought you would even be in this fandom. I probably wouldn't, and many others. Only because this fandom would not be so big, and probably not made mostly of adult guys. She was basically as they would say int the military, "a great leader." I'm sure you understand about how a better leader, equals a better task. She got everything together. She wrote the 40 page pitch bible, she pushed the animators, story tellers, colorists, to really push it, and make it fun. Not to make everything all so feminin that it's discusting like with many things (Well, discusting to those who are older). She helped put in the things that the adults can laught at, and see the references. She invented the big monsters, including Discord. If it weren't for Faust, I don't think this show would be as good as it is. It was her who started it, I think it's only fair she should be remembered for it.

As I've figured out: She's loved less for her work on the show and more for her support of the brony community itself. I remember the whole Fighting is Magic fiasco[date needed], when Hasbro sent the developers a cease and desist. Was Faust indifferent? Did she try to get rid of the fandom, as some non-bronies say she should? Nope! She actually JOINED the game development team and continues to work with them today. This shows that she likes the bronies, and when the creator of something befriends its fandom, that shows that the fandom is truly great.

Well, to be honest, Lauren may have a big role in the making of FiM, but I honestly see her as a sore loser. She gets butthurt when people have something to say about her work, or favor someone over her. Like for instance, a fellow accidentally tagged her in a tweet on twitter, that was for only Meghan McCarthy to see. She got angry for the guy for saying something about Meghan being a better writer, and Lauren came out with a smart response. Which to me, only proves that Lauren is in fact not only a sore loser in my eyes, but probably not one of the brightest people to sit down and share an opinion with.

I agree she got a tad bit over hurt on it, but think of it like the Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich episode... Lauren tries so hard to be a good writer, and it's understandable that she may be a little hurt if someone upstages her.

Nobody can be perfect, not even Lauren Faust. It's ok to have your own opinions on her, and I'm not trying to challenge that at all, but I wish people would just focus on the positive sides of others rather than the negatives. :/

Well sometimes without exploring the negatives, you can't make an honest opinion of something. xD

Not saying she has to be perfecto or anything.
