It depends on the effort you put into finding them really- those who breed 1000 of the same Pokémon with shiny buffs or do the chain fishing thing will at least probably get one, for instance, but not everyone would want to do that... still, dumb luck has gotten me 3 shinies in Pokémon X(two Friend Safari, one a normal random encounter), so maybe it has, there's almost certainly an elevated chance in the Friend Safari but I'm not sure by how much.

Yes and No. Shiny Pokemon are not too easy to obtain legitimatly, even with Masuada Method and Shiny Charm. There is also no evidence that you can use the Friend Safari to make finding shinies easier.

 

However, it is fairly easy to get one. Plenty of people own a cheating device of some sort, and plenty of people clone. For me, shiny Pokemon are inherently worthless, other than the ones I prefer the alternate colouration of.

O don't get how people are finding shinies in this game so easilly. I beat the shit out of this game and did a lot of grinding, not a single one. Meanwhile, in the Gold version I can't pull anything from, I find 3 in one Nuzlocke run, and one more in a normal run.

 

So why is it when I get a shiny I can't show it off. Y u do dis to me gamefreak?

Through my 10 years of playing these games, I have found 12 shinies. (and captured 10 of them) And I wasn't looking for them, pure luck. Now that I see someone with over 50 shinies, chaining and using tricks to get them... it feels shitty, really.

 

Man, I remember everyone at school staring at my shiny Zubat, everyone was amazed that we could find pokemons with different colors. And very few had them. Now 10 steps and "lelele shineh". It's a mess really, having a shiny is not an achievement anymore, everyone have one or more.

 

My shinies in order:

-Rattata: Found in Pokemon Leafgreen at the beggining of the game, couldn't capture it.

-Zubat: In my Firered in Mt.Moon, escaped from my 11 pokeballs.

-Zubat²: A few years later, found a male lvl.7 Zubat in Mt.Moon, could capture this one.

-Spearow: When Diamond came out, I finished the game and found this shiny on that random island.

-Steelix: Found it a few months later in victory road, Diamond. captured him using a time ball, last one lol.

-Wrumple: Back to my Emerald, I found this one in the forest. She's now a Dustox.

-Roselia: Again, found this one in my Diamond.

-Gyarados: Found this one at lake of rage in HG, lvl30. But it's not the one that is waiting here, a random encounter. No one believe me lol.

-Golbat: In my Platinum, in that temple with Regigigas. She's now a great Crobat.

-Nidorino: Prolly a few years ago, I was playing in HG, trying to see if I could find a Chansey because my friend couldn't, and he showed up. Now a powerful Nidoking.

-Tentacruel: Found him on One Island before someone stole my Firered, went to train him on Victory Road and...

-Onix: This one showed up, 5 minutes later after finding Tentacruel lol. I was astonished.

 

These are all safely sleeping in my Platinum now. But they aren't worth anything anymore. :'(

Maybe 'cause they have a 1/8192 chance of appearing; use your radar!

OK, listen. If you use a frickin' pokeradar, you can obtain the things MUCH faster. Manely (get it?) because the Radar shows you WHERE the shiny's at.

Okay then. You try breeding a shiny Pokemon and tell me how many PC boxes you fill before you finally get one. 

 

Is it easier to get shiny Pokemon? Yes, but it still takes awhile. Even with Madusa method you have to get your hands on a foreign Pokemon then ride around on your bike for hours until you get one. And good luck getting the shiny charm as it requires you to complete the entire National Dex (minus a few event legends)

With new tactics like the Poké Radar and the Masuda Method as well as finding a Shiny in the wild has been cut by half in X and Y, yes. Even though it isn't that fun to find a Shiny in X and Y compared to other games (I'm looking at you, Friend Safari), I still enjoy getting Shinies anyway.
