Should Sunset Shimmer have her own Mane 6 group?

I originally was against EQG and Sunset Shimmer at first, but as the movie reaches its first year anniversary, I actually would want Shimmer to be an actual roster for the show. I believe it can work out if they find some way of brining her back. I would like her as a heroine over a villain(that's up for debate though). So let us create another Mane 6 for Sunset Shimmer to rival Twilight and the gang.

I'm all up for it, but maybe not a rival. Remember, Twilight Sparkle forgave her, and she accepted her forgiveness, and she shared her friends with her too. So she wouldn't really be wanting to try to outdo Twilight Sparkle or anything. Although it would be nice for her to make new friends of her own.

Courage/Valor - I think courage would be a mix of loyalty and honesty. Courage is the ability to do what you know is right, even if it's hard.

 

Love - Some may say it's the same as kindness, but you can be kind to someone without loving them. Love is unconditional, although someone could love someone and still be mean to them sometimes, that doesn't mean they don't still love them.

 

Hope

 

Wisdom/Knowledge

 

Sincerity - Some might think it's the same as honesty. But honesty is being honorable, while being sincere is being pure/clean, without pretense.

 

Ambition

 

 

Not sure what Sunset Shimmer's element would be. I would say Wisdom since she's Twilight Sparkle's predecessor, although her actions in EG haven't painted her in a very wise light. Although I believe Celestia said she was one of her most promising students. Ambition would be another element for her, since she was so ambitious. I was gonna do something where their elements were mirror images of Twi's mane 6, similar yet different, but I found I like this better, although the other way probably would've made a lot more sense.

Canonically it's implied she's been adopted by the Mane Six of Canterlot High as their newest friend or the like. But in the interest of speculation... You could throw in Gilda, Suri Polomare... Any minor character who's been an antagonist not explicitly trying to kill our heroines.

The idea of Sunset Shimmer being sort of adopted by the Human Five and learning friendship alongside them was one of the things I liked best about Equestria Girls. If she's going to be part of the group, I'd prefer for it to be with them. I've never been a huge fan of the whole Anti Mane Six idea, mostly because I don't know what any of these minor antagonists would have in common to bring them together. Gilda has a habit of looking down on other people, Suri only cares about her own success, Lightning Dust is callously indifferent towards people she works with, and Sunset Shimmer is a good guy now. Not good recipes for teamwork.

 

When they're thrown together, it feels extremely forced, and like it ignores these characters' actual personalities for the sake of having a villain team up. Nevermind that most of these guys aren't, and have never been, supervillains, and there's really no common goal that I can see them working towards.

 

To answer the thread's question directly, I'd love to see Sunset in the show. I'd love to see Sunset with her own group of friends. I'd love to see Sunset period. But I'm not feeling the idea of a villain team up, and even if there was one, Sunset wouldn't be a part of it.

You never know, she could end up like Trixie. At first she learns a lesson, but then, she suddenly thinks of her defeat and she decides that she's the victim, and she ends up wanting to pay them back for humiliating her. Just like how Trixie brought her own humiliation upon herself and blamed Twi, I'm not ruling out the possibility of Sunset blaming her humiliation on Twi as well. Not saying I disagree with you, just saying that there's always that possibility if the writers want to go that route.

 

As for teamwork, I think they could all agree that they have a grudge against one or more of the mane 6. They could be united by their drive to help each other get revenge. Yes, there would be infighting, but even the mane 6 have their occasional arguments, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Absolutely! I saw some pics on Derpibooru (originally from Tumblr) about Sunset making friends with 5 background humans (or whatever those pastel-coloured humanoids are) and they follow her back to Equestria and getting ponified. I wish there was a fanfic.

Likely yes the Human Mane 5 have adopted Sunset but how come Twilight is in the sequel, whether it's Equestria Twilight or Human Twilight?
