I doubt the Alicorns would even stand a chance, despite how powerful they might be.

Despite magic being on their side, the U.S has technology. They have the ability to send someone to the moon, so does? So does the U.S.
They have the ability to shoot a beam from their head? U.S soldiers can fire hundreds of rounds from their magic sticks.  Etc

Let's compare the technology.

 

In this corner of the ring, fairing from Equestria, we have the Alicorns.

 

 

Let's take a look at their arsenal:

 

-Magic that is fairly weak unless you train almost your entire life to use it.

 

-Painful sticks.

 

Now let's take a look at the US army's arsenal (From the ponies' POV):

 

-More painful sticks

 

-Handheld Explosions

-Dragons(?!)

-Robotic Birds that shoot lethal explosions (?!)

 

I am confident that Alicorns would be so unfamiliar to even the concept of war on this scale that they would be eradicated.

And that is why i think that they should've reformed Queen Chrysalis and King Sombra (yeah i know neither of them are Alicorns but they would come in handy). Sombra is a cloud. HOW THE F*** DO YOU KILL A CLOUD!!!! the changeling horde would be like a zerg rush. (do changelings count as Alicorns? they have wings AND horns) A zerg rush that would result in high casualties, but overwhelming. They how ever would never ever stand a chance against China...ever

zerg rush. good defensive posistions can barely hold out. carpet bombing will inflict casualties, until the plane is boarded. The Chinese army however is just too big. To many troops who kill and keep killing.

If they keep their personality and mindset then they'd make some kind of peace treaty. But if they're out for blood? Say goodbye to our military. You shoot a gun? They block with magic bubbles that can hold out an army. You launch a nuke? They teleport behind you the moment you press the button. And then we have lasers, flight, telekinesis and transmutation/reality warping. Seriously, if you take away a load of plot induced stupidity the alicorns could really be almost as OP as discord.

Changelings are pussies, they are as dumb as stone and weak as babies. They were getting knocked out by tripping on Fluttershy for god's sake. The Changelings could be killed off by jingling some keys to distract them and then mowing them down. 

 

Sombra was only shadow after being banished. He's also unable to attack while in shadow form, he has to turn to solid form to attack. His shadow form also helped him very little when he shattered to pieces

Alicorn/dark magic (magic that King Sombra uses) warps reality. Crystal Empire: can only access "the stairs" if you use said magic.

the force of 1 creature really can't compare to the force of a .50 it's like comparing being poked by stephen hawking to being punched in the face by the incredible hulk

Unicorn abilities: Shields, energy weapons, telekinesis, teleportation, phase through solid matter, trans-mutate other matter. Can generate 740 quadrillion tons of force via telekinesis (enough to move the moon) and generate 3.8 decatillion joules of power (amount of kinetic energy to move the moon) from their horns (though it is probably greater since we do not know how much force or energy is needed to move the sun yet). Effective range of powers is 920,960,000 miles (distance between earth and sun).

 

Pegasus abilities: manipulate weather to form flood rains, blinding snow, soft ball sized hail, 200 MPH hurricanes, 300 MPH tornadoes, precision lightning strikes, the ability to adjust the scope of this phenomena. Can carry 2000 tons of weight in flight, flight at mach 5 (faster than the BrahMos II, the fastest cruise missile in operation. Only the manned X-15 or the unmanned X-23 aircraft can overtake an alicorn). Of course all these speeds are limited on the premise that the Princesses can't perform a sonic rainboom, which would change things a bit.

 

Earth pony abilities: Can strike with 32,126 tons of force (amount needed to smash diamond, demonstrated when NMM shattered the EoH, presuming they were made of diamond), can carry (at least) 9-10 tons of weight for extended periods of time (demonstrated by Rarity and Twilight when they carried Tom, presuming he was a sandstone bolder (since this was done by unicorns, it can be implied that earth ponies can carry even heavier)).

 

 

Alicorns: Luna also has the dream walking ability. This could be used in a strategic sense, as a means of gathering intelligence, as it seems she can view memories, or as a weapon in psychological warfare, giving soldiers nightmares, disrupting their sleep and unsettling their psyches. The Princesses can use dark magic, the effects on living creatures is still unknown. On the ground at least, it'll generate jagged crystals just about anywhere, impaling and cutting just about anyone. Princess Cadence could totally screw with the entire armed forces and use her magic to make key members, or quite possibly everyone serving, fall hopelessly in love with one another. That'll make focusing on combat or even relaying orders rather challenging.

 

Conclusion: They can move the sun and the moon to: effect the oceans and screw the navy (and anyone within 100 miles of coastline. Alter plane and missile trajectories via gravitational pull. Luna can block out the sun for eternal night and kill off most surface life via extreme cold within a few years. Celestia can leave the sun out to disrupt sleep patterns, weather patterns, and fry everything to a crisp. Luna could crush everything with the moon or Celestia could incinerate the earth with an oncoming sun.

 

Even without using anything outside of earth's atmosphere or the waking world as a weapon, the princesses still have the US military outmatched in nearly every possible way. Out ranged, out powered (strength, force and energy production wise), out conditioned, out maneuvered, out classed.

 

Face it. The US military are fighting gods.

 

I'm sure the princesses will kindly accept your unconditional surrender right about now.

This is of course assuming Twilight weighs as much (A few tons) and is as fast as a car or has the ability to project a mass that large. If she did, she would have had an easier time dealing with that Ursa Minor, no? It at least seemed to strain her. Considering it wasn't her first choice of action I'm going to assume doing something like that isn't easy, and simply wouldn't be practical versus, say, multiple targets.

 

 

I agree they have never seen anything remote of what the U.S military can do.

 

Just for comparison sake.
