In fan fiction when you portray Celestia has never being wrong. (Which quite a lot of people do.) No matter what, you turn her from a kind, wise, compassionate, merciful leader into a egotistical moron. As a common fan fiction egotistical version of Celestia, anything she says and is right no matter what.  Even when she says destroying an entire sapient species is morally right and you should still kill them even when they are on their knees begging for peace and mercy. 

 

If she can't admit she's wrong ever, you could basically turn her from the good show version of her into something like the dark lord Sauron.

Fan fiction? Why so modest. I'm pretty sure that's how a lot of the fandom treats Celestia in general I'm pretty sure that's how Trollestia and Molestia were born. Celestia is depicted as nigh-perfect in the show because she's the teaching guiding leader. Fandom takes that and turns her into the opposite.

I've seen plently of fics where Celestia has made harsh and cruel decisions. She merely never lets her subjects hear of these decisions. So she maintains both the illusion of never being wrong while still being a believable ruler.

 

Plus she's not perfect in the show. We've seen her lose. Luna even questioned their right to take the EoH from the Everfree.

All this onesided Celestia bashing. What about Luna? She always shares her opinion as a reminder.

Unless Luna fans have written the TCB fic, of course.
