Of course handles make it easier for certain pets to open doors. Knobs are more secure.

But I don't understand why rounded knobs are safer, I still think locking the door is a better solution to the pet problem.:LunaMCM:

knobs come with built in knock mechanisms.

I don't know about that knock mechanism :duck:

It's a matter of purpose really, wouldn't you agree? :)

I'll agree happily when I find out what the advantage is, but I haven't seen any, maybe the personal aesthetic taste (which is also respectable), but from a functionality POV, I think handles always win.

Door handles 4ever :party-pinkie:

Seeing as it requires more work to add in a key lock system, not really.

That thing that is in the middle of some knobs which you turn, that is useful for preventing bathroom doors from being opened from the other side, pretty straight forward why that exists.

That has already been discussed. They both have their purpose, if they didn't, they wouldn't have bothered making different types like this. Door knobs including ones with a lock pin, are fairly common for a good reason, they're not as useless as you might think.

Ya! I'm SO HAPPY to hear that! :raritystarry: You're Welcome, Bestie!

Now I'm wondering what @Ice Princess Silky <3 likes to do for FUN! :pinkie:

Lately? I could be having some more fun. This is a good question! lol I always enjoyed ballet and arts, etc but have not been having the time for it as of late. Hmmm perhaps I should retreat and get into my books again.

I am thinking that would be a good idea to recharge :coco:

Sorry I've just realized you were talking about the "lock mechanism", not the "knock mechanism", I'm not a native english speaker so I didn't notice that, I was so confused.:mlp_laugh:

The comparisson wouldn't be fair if we compare a plain door handle with a round door knob with builtin lock mechanism. In that case, yes, the round door knob is superior, but not for being a round one, but for having a useful mechanism.:twistnerd:

This is my bathroom door handle, it has a builtin lock too, and works exactly the same way as a round one does.

If it were a door handle plus a separate key lock system, then I agree with you its more work when installing it... But that is not the case as you can see in my bathroom door.:mlp_lie:

My point is: In a fair competition, I personally prefer door handles over round knobs because I think are more comfortable to use.:LunaMCM1:

I've never said they're useless, they meet their purpose, which is essentially the same as the door handles. I've just said that I prefer the lever-style handles over the round knobs.

I can't see in which situation are round knobs better than handles:dash:, they are functionally the same (except in the "door opening pet" situation). The one and only difference I can see, is the aesthetic. Maybe someone loves round knobs because they look good (which for me, it's enough to justify their existence), but functionally, they have no advantages over the door handles, and both have the same price in each category.

I need a plain handle for my door

I have a bathroom and I want some privacy

I want a key to lock/unlock the door

Yeah I just noticed my typing in the other post, I fixed it though. I hate my writing sometimes. My concentration isn't what it used to be in terms of writing these days.

But yeah some door knobs do have notches in the middle that allow you to lock them on both sides. It can be useful in some situations, even though I do agree handles are easier to use.

I'm usually happy to get a new rank, but not so much now. I liked the Evil Changeling rank. Although the new rank looks nice

That’s some coincidence, I just went up the same rank as you.

Thinking about the MLP non profit fan fiction I am going to write with pencil and notepad. I got a foldup table, I suppose to help pass the time and avoid burnout, I can listen to some music. I got a rubber with a pencil set. Starting with the script, not illustration is where I want to lead off with this. I have not yet the confidence to draw OC's as well as Hasbro IP characters.

I don't know what to say to Spark sometimes, but I can relate to feeling of loneliness, it's not cool. Sometimes community engagement can mean the world of difference to some people. It's just that I have no idea what topics to discuss with Spark.

I'm trying to think of how to lead off the story of my MLP fan fiction, something like "Once Upon A Time" I don't want to use, so I settled on something like "Eons ago, at an unknown point in history of Equestria" I don't know how the rest of it is going to go yet, I do have ideas I want to tie into this story but it has to transition smoothly and those ideas need to be introduced when the time is right to do so, not forced. This is harder than I thought, so I am taking it slow, and good thing I decided to use pencil and erasure, so I can edit mistakes here and there.

Right now I'm trying to decide if I want to send a shortened version of a song I'm working on to a compilation album or just make it longer like how I usually do.

@Dawnshine Wonder If you don't mind me offering some ideas, you can introduce the story from the perspective of one of the main characters or have some characters talking to/interacting with each other before describing what's going on in that scene, then carrying on with the rest of the story from there. Or, you could have a character in the middle of reading a history book (or maybe digging through old texts, talking to another character about a tall tale, something like that) if you plan on having it tie back in to the present day Equestria, that way it's a bit easier to pull out of some sort of ancient backstory. :coco:

It will tie in with present day Equestria, I'm getting the prelude out of the way first, the backstory is important for the alternate timeline events I am tying together with this fanfic. I could introduce a new villain into the story as well. Wait and see, I am pencilling the first chapter already, and the prelude to the story or chapter #1 is going to be quite long. I don't know if I want to adapt this into a fan made comic yet, depends on if I get good at drawing the characters. For now I am compiling a script. :)
