Assuming? ASSUMING?

I am assuming you mean that because you never seen the show?

If so go watch season 1 of Rugrats...PLEASE watch season 1 of Rugrats if you never seen the cartoon before.

It was one of the 90's greatest creations along with Aaahh real monsters, Ren and Stimpy, Kablam, and many other shows! Like horror shows like Are you afraid of the dark etc....aww...crap...I am nostalgia now! Oh well I got it all on harddrives!

I've seen it. It's not a bad show..... It's just very dry (in my opinion) ... Although the plots are imaginative, the characters (aside from chuckle Angelica and tommy) are fairly underdeveloped characters, that have to feed on the main characters in order to be relevent to the show. And also the amount of poops jokes....... The first few are funny, but they get real old real fast....... All in all its so so ish to me.... Love real monsters and ren/stumpy though, and never got around to watching are you afraid of the dark......

The writers already have a hard time focusing on everypony as it is. If we added a new main character, either he or somepony else would get pushed to the side again. Besides the current dynamic works perfectly fine, I'd rather they just focus on the existing characters. There's plenty of development left in store for them.

Twilight is best pony.

Why hello MLPForums! What have ya been up to?

I think the writers have enough characters to flesh out as is, and besides, I would never want to change the dynamic of the mane six so drastically by making it a mane seven, regardless of the pony's gender.

However, I believe I heard a season five spoiler earlier today about a certain somepony finding a special somepony? Or was that just an April Fool's joke?

Oh, and to everyone trying to come up with main characters who were successful after being introduced partway through the series, I have one word for you: Castiel.

New Pony, means new element. New element means, where the hell has it been this whole time? I mean sure we can make another "spike" character, but we've got our ponies without Cutie Marks in the CMC, we have six elements already who I am perfectly fine with already. If they realized a new pony, everypony would most likely dislike her unfortunatley, for the mere fact of her not being an original, and if we dumped not having an element of harmony on top of that, that pony would be like, the nerfed charcter, like, you heres this pony, that just isn't as special as anypony else but is here for what purpose? Use some of the ponies that already exist, start giving them some more screen time, like there is nothing to say that Big Mac or Lyra, or somepony else could have an actual more in depth role in an episode at some point. We just have enough existing character personalities that already exist to add something so drastic to the show. But then there is argument 2, there are never to many ponies. lol.

If they added my waifu Lyra to the Mane 6 and gave her more speaking roles, I would be so happy

*snip, bit about elements*

I don't think so. Weren't the elements put into storage in the tree of harmony, so they can't be used any more? But you could be right about a new element being introduced... What's in the box!?!

With the exception of Smokescreen, none of these are truly main characters though and even he didn't really add much to the show....

But Predaking was part of the focus in season three. To generalize, everyone but Knock Out on that list has had a serious impact on where the story arc was going at the time.

The same point goes for Beast Wars. Characters like Silverbolt, Depth Charge, and Blackarachnia were main characters as well as later additions to the cast, and they most certainly did not ruin the show. In fact, they vastly improved it.

TLA was planned from start to finish before they started though, with a strong central narrative. I very much doubt that there exists a 5seasons masterscript for FiM.

I'm not sure what a plan to add a new character to the cast beforehand has to do with whether the addition ruined the show or not.

Doctor Who effectively pushes the reset button with every regeneration. FiM centers around a permanent central cast.

That one I'll give you. I suppose even the companions, to an extent, push a reset button.

If a new main character was male we come dangerously close to My Little Pony Tales territory. The "Wow. Look there's a boy in our ranks. They got penises golly."

New main characters added midway through a series are a pain to deal with and generally trigger fandom backlash. If adding Shining Armor and Cadance to continuity was hard, just imagine how that would have worked if they had become main characters!

I would much rather see the existing male characters treated better, and leave the prospect of a male main character for either a spinoff, G5, or some other franchise entirely.
