Not necessarily a whole episode, but it would be nice if BG ponies were given more to do. For example, Big Mac, Granny Smith, the CMC, Mr. and Mrs. Cake, and many other non-Mane Six ponies have regular speaking roles and take part in plotlines, so why not add a few more?

Like, we had Derpy talk in one episode, and look what happened. Vinyl's overrated in my opinion anyways. IMO it's a bad idea for background ponies to get the "spotlight" in anything. They're called background ponies for a reason. It would possibly ruin any head canon there is out there of the character. Many fans of that character would get upset(Derpy incident).  Keeping background ponies as background ponies gives more free will to artists and musicians alike,and the fans of those ponies.The mystery of background ponies is what makes a lot of them awesome. Give them lines and that awesomeness might go away.

I very much like Vinyl and wouldn't mind this, but to be honestly, I don't know if I can see her as the sole lead. I dunno, maybe it's all this fanon getting in my eyes, but I can't imagine Vinyl without Octavia in some sort of sitcom situation.

If she is voiced by anyone other than Nowhacking, I would be pretty disappointed-but, since that is EXTREMELY unlikely-I would prefer it if she remained a silent character throughout the episode and have events happening around her.

 

Like one of the Big Mac gags where he's about to say something other than 'Eeyup' or 'Nope' and another character cuts him off, like a slice of life episode with a misunderstanding between ponies at a party or something.

 

Either that or staying in the background is preferable to me and seems to be the safest way for the writers to go.
