UNDEFEATABLE POKEMON FOUND!?

WOBBUFFET

Recommended Posts

Wobbuffet is invincible.

He has very high health and his counter attack does the same damage as your attacks.

And mirror coat does your attacks x2 power.

You can't beat him.

Nice name but uh,

No wobbuffet has health in the 400's

Wobbuffet might look like a water pokemon, but he's actually a dark type.

The bolt can't possibly do 400 damage.

Pikachu gets defeated.

Wobbuffet has high health, yes. However, it requires excellent prediction, is weak to some common attacking types, can do nothing against some Pokemon, has atrocious defenses (so that HP stat doesn't go as far as you would think). It's pretty good, (Smogon has had it in Ubers previously, but now it is languishing in BL), but far from unbeatable.

Hmm, Dragonite maybe? A couple Dragon Dances, then Outrage. Although I don't think Dragonite could outlast Wobbuffet.

Simple. Mew two X + Max attack ev plus focus punch plus Focus band = instant ko.

I was originally thinking Mewtwo Y with max Spec. Attack and Aura Sphere but whoa... That would put a good portion of Pokemon in their place.

As for Wobbuffet being unbeatable, with enough strategic focus or a tactic like this then nah, he's far from unbeatable.

You're all WRONG.

Wobbuffet has safeguard.

He uses this to protect himself.

After your attack, he proceeds to WIPE YOUR POKEMON OUT.

Safeguard ONLY PROTECTS AGAINST STATUS EFFECTs ON WOBBUFFET/IT'S TEAM. It will not help against something setting up to OHKO, or from a faster Pokemon (of which there are many) using a status effect causing move, or from damage at all.

Do you even Pokemon?

Dragonite can outlast Wobbuffet easily, Wobbuffet can't do damage outside of Counter/Mirror Coat.

Shouldn't be difficult in the slightest to find one of those.

Seriously Dark has waaay too many nasty Physical attacks to be ignored.

Anyways, I find OP's logic a bit funny. It's like saying a fast Pokemon with Whirlwind and Stealth Rock (or substitutes of those moves) is utterly unstoppable.

Tell me when you find a pokemon that does 400's without a bonus.

If it's not a 1 hit KO, it will get countered and you lose.

Have a pokemon with a focus band use a fighting move and it's gonna take heavy damage, especially if the move has a high critical hit ratio.

Will it? What if it is a mixed attacker and you mis-predict? Or holding a Focus Sash/has Sturdy? Or is attacking Specially and is a Dark type/attacking physically and is a Ghost type? No, nothing can OHKO it without boosts, but boosts are hardly difficult to get against Wobbuffet.

Well you have some good reasoning, but Wobbuffet can learn Bide

Come to think of it. Sableye and Spiritomb will have no trouble dealing with Wobbuffet what-so-ever.

Then again, those are two very specific Pokemon.

Then again, again, everyone should totally have a Spiritomb.

What does counter Wobba:

-immunity for CounterCoat

Counter and Mirror Coat stay Fighting and Psychic. Ghost pokémon are immune for Counter, and Dark pokémon are immune for Mirror Coat. This gives several options in OU:

Spiritomb is immune to both.

TyraniBoah and Houndoom can hit it super effective with Dark Pulse, and are immune to Mirror Coat

A physical orientated Dusknoir can hit it While being immune to Counter.

-U-Turn to a ghost

U-Turning to a Ghost Pokémon will hit Wobba hard and make it unable to Counter back.

-Taunt and statup

Together with a statup move, Taunt can cripple it completely. Just don't attack before you're sure it won't survive, or your statup was for nothing.

-Kill Wobba's buddy

Wobbuffet takes a hell of a beating, and because it doesn't have any form of recovery, wobba is almost always paired up with a Whishpasser and/or Aromatheraphist. As you can probably guess, this most of the time means Blissey, the pink blob that outclasses wobba in Hp base, ironically. When its buddy is dead, Sleep, Toxic, and Torture (that's not a real status infliction) Wobbuffet into submission.

-Phasing

Roar and Whirlwind Wobbufett away before it can do its job. You can get it in KO range with Spikes, Stealth Rock and Toxic Spikes this way.

-run for your life

Shed Shell and Baton Pass still make you able to switch out, so you can go to one of the above options.

Ripped from Serebii Forums.

That said, Wobbuffet is still looking pretty impressive.

Bide does not help. It is not a good move, it takes too long to work, and meanwhile Wobbuffet can do nothing.. Many Pokemon can still 2HKO.

How to beat a Wobbuffet: One shot lt.

High health with low defenses so its counters can hit harder makes for an easy one shot by proper sweepers/powerhouses.

To be on the safe side as magic pixels do happen, make sure it's a super effective one.

Hell, he cant attack without you doing so first, so it's a free set up till they smarten up and switch out. Boost stats till you can ohko the whole team or just that silly wobbuffet. Troll them back for attempting such bold move without a proper set up.
