You aren't a bad person for your beliefs!

Irrelevant with my post. Also... You took it too far with pedophilia guys.

Not at all.

People here have said that, no matter what, respect and tolerate other's positions.

Playing hypotheticals with that horrible subject is a good way to prove that it's not always plausible.

Agreed!

Lots of people hate me because when they ask me what I believe they hate me.

Well I don't give two craps what people think of me, my beliefs, or my God.

My beliefs haven't hurt anyone I know.

I try to act like a completely moral and good person in real life.

As long as people are doing good, and more or less leaving each other the fuck alone, it's all I ask for these days.

Apparently it is not for some people who vote for Greek Neo Nazi party of Golden Dawn. Just look up the fact that they are accused of being criminal organisation and the murder of Pavlos Fyssas. Democracy allows us to disagree with those neo nazi dregs of hell but it rightfully doesn't allow us to kill them. Because not only are we making martyrs out of them but also losing our own justice.

I mean that because of what the bible may say and because of what others may say when they support the same opinion or the way they promote it you are going to be judged for that the same way like if you are the same person.

In other words shoving all Christians in a communal bucket/in the same box is unacceptable for me. I am not aligned with the rapist monk or the gay-shunning priest and you don't know if i am.

That is what i mean communal bucket. With the same logic there is no communal heaven. Not all scientists do it for the sake of knowledge etc.

Do you get it now?

I get it, but I'm very precise in my judgments. If I condemn someone for believing in something I disagree with, it will be specifically over opinions they explicitly voiced.

I wouldn't condemn the whole clergy for child abuse, because they're not synonymous. However, I do put all rapists in the same bucket because they all earned their ticket there.

Most likely. It's just a very common phrase.

Excuse my greekness. Sorry i don't know every single phrase... I guess globalisation didn't teach me that. Also i kinda knew what it said just wasn't sure/might not have remembered exactly the phrase.

YES!

Thank God someone had to say it!

I want people to just leave my beliefs alone if they don't agree.

Woah, there friend, I'm sorry. No need to resort to passive-aggressiveness.

It was my mistake.

I've only ever met one bad Christian in my life. Every other one I've ever met has been friendly and caring. There was this one that sat by me in math class, and I loved to have religious debates with him. Friendly ones of course, it was pretty enjoyable. I'm fine with all religious beliefs as long as you don't use them to harm others.

I do love to debate them though, can't help it. It's in my blood.

Now here's what you are doing wrong. Here we are talking about beliefs... Not actions but still... Beliefs and actions are not all black and white. Yes rape might be but for example murder isn't always. Self defense is an example. You can't say everyone that has killed is a bad person... Maybe he hated doing that? As far as beliefs go Christianity is an example we have displayed.

I've never had one friendly debate in my life.

All of them have been sadly lots of screaming and yelling.

I'm the only one in the debate it seems that wants to end on a peaceful note.

I hate those debates. Unfortunately that's what most peoples idea of a debate is. They can actually be really fun if your debate partner isn't prone to getting angry about others thoughts and opinions. It's like sports to me, friendly rivalry is much more fun than real hostility.

I guess i viewed the "Duh!" comment of yours as a bit... Annoying. As a future note i hate mockery aggresiveness without a reason and occasionaly smartarsed sarcasm. No offense to you just throwing it out there.

Actually, no, I'm not doing anything wrong. I just finished telling you that I am precise in my judgments.

Precise as I am, I wouldn't judge an action outside of it's context. I wouldn't say all killing is wrong, as self-defense is an obvious counterexample.

You can bet if I'm telling someone they fucked up, it's because they did.

Well i guess i was just doing a precautionary counter arguement to cover every little loophole. Edited by nioniosbbbb

well in most cases you are not. If this was 150 years ago or more then being in any given religion would make you a bad person and in todays world, being Islam automatically makes you a bad person. Thats a fact. don't beleive me? Just google worlds most violent religions and especialy today they still teach hatred, bigotry, violence and death and war against your enemies and their enemies are even more numerous in today then there is in the old testament lol.

which is basically 100% of everyone that is not one of them.

So islamic = Bad person or just a person who grew up with or made a bad choice in what was being taught to them.

This is mostly true, but I'd definitely say there are limits. Dattebayo pretty much sums it up:

What if my belief (for the sake of this thread) was that pedophilia was okay?

Well I'm a Christian and I don't act violent, evil, or in any negative way.

Yet, people still accuse me of being all sorts of things I'm not.

I'm not going to defend the religion itself, but come on. Most Muslims in developed, western countries are downright progressive. Not every member of every religion needs to follow their silly little storybook exactly to the letter.
