What if the characters had different passions?

Seems like a somewhat daunting question, doesn't it? It could be fun to think about or so I would say. They could have different passions where their personality traits wouldn't really change if at all.

 

Rarity's one I thought about for some time with this. What if Rarity's passion was in design engineering? Aside from her passion for fashion, we know Rarity as being someone who loves finesse and elegance. These are also plausible personality traits for engineers to have because nothing says elegance when form and function come in perfect harmony. Also take a look at this:

 

 

 

Now replace "room or an outfit" with "plant or a device." Are you seeing it too?

Well, the personality that doesn't fit into the picture is that she would need to get dirty when having to build or repair stuff but that it may all be worth it when the final product is finished.

I can imagine Applejack being extremely obese for having a passion for eating apples more than she grows and harvests them.

I think that alot of each character comes from what their cutie mark is. Their passion affects them in the same way that their experiences do, which changes their personality. (Their passion could also affect the kind of ponies and influences they are around throughout their life, which can have a big effect on them).
