I also know why the flanges never actually touch the rail. (It's a function of balance and friction called 'hunting'.) If you must know, I like lots of things about planes and trains, and I'm planning to go into engineering.

 

Now that Anala is up, time for some railroading action.

(Note: the the Friendship Express is not truly expressed in either of these scales. It's more like the video, but the train is moving much slower. There will be as many cars as there needs to be in the train's rolling stock., so don't worry about counting axles.)

 

@@Kay Dreamer, @, your characters are going to get a slight chronological advance for this turn. Anala and Kay's actions in Turn 7 will happen during the events described in the Turn 7 GM post.

The events will be: (1) Kay and Anala do whatever it is they do to avoid getting squished on the rail track, (2) train begins to pass over, Blaze, (3) Scribblegroove and Number Cruncher's actions.

 

Environmental note: as the locomotive passes over, it is so loud, nothing else can be heard. Any players talking during that event will be drowned out. The rest of the train will still be loud, but not as loud.

 

...Exciting!

  I've always wanted a game of some kind to have an environment taking place underneath a moving train. It's not a side of the world we see very often.

I like riding on trains. Can't say I know too much about them beyond that though. Travelling through Japan was heaven for indulging in long, slow rural train trips... There's something about them that's just really relaxing. And unlike Pony!Kay, I don't get motion sick. =D (She'll get over it in time, probably.)

 

EDIT

For the record, Kay has a cracked rib and a sprained ankle, both on her right side. Probably a few grazes and bruises too, but I doubt she'd even notice those. That was a pretty high jump and she didn't exactly plan it well with a train steaming towards her, so I couldn't imagine her walking away completely unscathed. (There was no mud-puddle to land in this time, haha.)

 

I've never had a cracked or broken rib, but I have had plenty of sprained ankles, and I even walked around on a broken bone in my foot for half a day as a kid. Kay Dreamer can still move, but she's in a bit of pain.

A cracked or broken rib is a very serious injury. It causes severe pain to breathe until it is fully healed (which can take more than a month), even if the chest is immobilized. It also makes great exertion impossible unless she has the mental fortitude of a soldier. I would advise against such a severe injury. Call it a bruise :V

Haha, she certainly doesn't have that kind of strength. I didn't realise it was quite so severe; I just looked it up and wow. Guess that's what I get for taking injury cues from action films. ;P

 

Having looked it up now, would a very mild bruised rib work? To the point where she's sore, but not debilitated. http://www.simple-remedies.com/home-remedies/bruises/bruised-rib-causes-symptoms.html It won't be much fun for me if she can't move at all.

I think I have a fair handle on her personality, and I tend to make pretty long posts anyways. Feel free to PM me with any extra details you have about her, if you already have 'em written down; likes, dislikes, potential triggers, blah blah. I'll take my cues from how I've seen EQE roleplayers handle the canon cast.

Don't worry. If we need to, we'll ease off the rule of posting daily. The point of that rule was really to weed out people who didn't feel integrated enough to stay for the long haul. That said, I sort of anticipate this RP to go on for less time than ones with no endgame planned from the start.

I think Kay posted expecting Blue Eclipse, Scribblegroove or Number Cruncher to immediately follow up-- an explicitly stated expectation, actually. Regardless if they do or not, I will posting Blaze going through a few hours from now.  I think it's fully possible people were waiting for me to post, since only I can describe what we'll be traveling-into next. For which I apologize. I was expecting others to post before me :V
