gaming Why do people want GTA 5 on PC?

It could be for one or multiple of reasons

-Don't own a console and don't want to purchase one or just don't have the spare money to buy one

-An overall better experience(1920p@60fps is a massive difference over a upscaled 720p@30fps)

-Mods

-Get a taste of what the talk is about

Console business has a legacy, why do people only want PC? Is it only the graphics and frame rate? Then your just a pixel hunter and always want to play the game rather than playing it for fun.

Plus why do you want mods? To make the game better? It's already good enough! You don't play games because they have mods, or really good graphics. You play games because you want to have fun. Plus GTA V in console is not 720p! Yes it is 30fps but I don't think it's 720p

So please understand. Maybe you enjoy the game one day in its natural state

Yeah, but they're both unsupported. TF2 on the Xbox 360 hasn't been patched since 2008 and PS3 since 2007, and Counter-Strike has NEVER gotten a single patch on the consoles.

I only want PC because I don't want to be locked down in my hardware choices, and none of the console exclusives appeal to me right now, yet a bunch of the ones on PC do. I also want to be able to play games from any time, not just games that are on my new console, but games all the way back to the 90's and 80's as well as the new ones. PC games have a legacy as well, the only difference is that if I get a new PC I can play those games from that legacy. I can not with the consoles.

You know what, this dry bread is already good enough, why would I want to do anything to it. Why would I want to put some butter on it? Why would I want to make it a sandwich. Why would I even want to toast it? Why would I want to make something I enjoy even more enjoyable?

You know what, I can enjoy the game in it's natural state, but with mods I can replay that game again and have a freash expirience. I don't have to just stick with the shipped game. I don't even have to mod it if I don't want to.

You know what, you are right. We don't need patches. Let's just play games that are unbalanced and can wipe your save data due to some random bug the testers couldn't find at first. That sounds really fun. Who doesn't love things like One Man Army Toobs in MW2, or even possible making your new machine a brick after you just paid so much money for it. I guess I'll have to send it off to a company instead of being able to fix it myself for a lot cheaper and faster.

I am not. In fact there are Pc games I like. I am balanced fanboy. I like Pcs and consoles. I love both of them and not ranting about it

Actually, I think s/he meant the PC Legacy games....like "I Have No Mouth and I must Scream" or "Mech Warrior 4: Mercenaries". Or the Gabriel Knight games...or the Descent games. PC gaming has just as rich and storied a history as console games.

Those are all really good games (I assume, I actually never played Super Mario Galaxy) but mods can keep a game alive far longer than the vanilla (unmodded) game ever could. People are still modding older games like The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind and thus are keeping them alive. Plus modding by itself can make games far better. I hated Skyrim (I'm a Morrowind fanboy) and the only thing that keeps me from deleting it are the mods....otherwise I'd be suffering from total buyer's regret.

1. I'm talking about how PC has natural compatibility with older games. I'm currently playing Civ IV, which is a game from 2005 on a machine I built just this year. You can't play a PS2, Gamecube, or Xbox game on the newest systems unless they make a port. I can just put the same exact disk in my drive and install it, and play it like I had a brand new machine from that time period. Hell, I could install a floppy drive and get Doom working on this computer if I wanted to. I wasn't even talking about emulators, but now that you bring that up we can do that too with games as well. I play SSBB on my PC using a 360 controller.

 

2. I was just using a simple example but fine. GTA V is a whole Sub sandwich, but you can add anything you want to with it with PC. You don't have to just settle with the sub you get, you can add anything you want to with it. I could add chips to my sub if I wanted to, It's my sub. On consoles the restaurant won't let you do that because it is in their TOS that you can not. Why would you want to be limited with what you want to do with your games when you can do anything you want to with them on PC?

People will want it for mods, and that it is also one of the better games of last year. I have not got it yet, as I am waiting for a possible xbox one release.

Dolphin works with a 360 pad. I just have it configured as a Gamecube controller and since the Gamecube controller can be used for Brawl I use that. As soon as I get a Bluetooth adapter I will be able to use Wiimotes as well.

It's one of the reasons, there are others as well. Don't call yourself a fanboy. If you think the PC version is the best version. Then you became one.
