In my defense, I've also written fanfics before, so often I would write from the perspective of other characters, which would set the platform for the main to take the initiative. That's obviously where I slipped up over here.

My OC's hair might be a bit difficult to draw, so if you find it easier, just give him an RAF pilot's headdress, also from WWII.

Ok, that sounds even better. But a must-have is something similar to the RAF flight suit, the only difference being that the crest is actually of the REAF. Here's a link for reference:

Something like this, except you can leave out the 20th Airborne bit on the bottom right. Replace it with 51st Squadron
