Alex Kennedy

((Note: In addition to being longwinded and boring, this page is incredibly outdated and in desperate need of an update, which it'll get someday when I get around to it. For now, no that this isn't all that great an indicator of who I am, or at least, not as good as it should be.)

There's really not much to tell. I'm a community college student in Naperville, Illinois (near Chicago). I like Highlander, Magic: The Gathering, video games, and I'm addicted to D&D (but only 3.5 because 4.0 sucks). My taste in music is so ludicrously eclectic (I also like to use big words) that it almost seems schizophrenic. If you really want to know anything more about me, send me a message or something.

I also like to think of myself as the resident sociology expert. I've taken quite a few classes on that sort of thing, and I have a considerable amount of interest (and I'd like to think quite a bit of knowledge as well) in that field. Any threads about society, fitting in, masculinity, or gender you can probably expect me to show up on. If you have any sociology, gender science, or psychology related questions feel free to ask, because I love answering them. I tend to talk about sociology in such a way that people might think I'm trying to sound smarter than I am. I'm not, trust me. I am fairly intelligent, if not as intellingent as I'd often like to think, and I don't need other people to confirm that for me. It's just the way I talk sometimes.

I'm on the forums pretty much all the time, unless I'm in class or driving somewhere. I play D&D on Fridays, so I might not be online then, and every once in a while I get together with my friends to play LoL all night, which takes up all the time I would normally be spending on here. Otherwise though, I spend a worrying amount of time on here, so even if I'm not online currently, you can expect me to be back in a few hours. The point is, I'm here all the time, so I generally am very active and respond pretty quickly. You probably didn't need to know all that, but I'm bored so I'm writing it anyway.

I also can't stand when people don't respond to me, so if I send you a message or something please respond so I at least know I'm not being ignored. Also, because I'm online so much, I have a tendency to be somewhat impatient in this regard, although I know people have lives and can't necessarily respond immediately. If I say something to you about how I'm waiting for you to respond, it's just because I'm bored, I'm not actually upset about it unless it gets to be several days without a response. Then I tend to worry that I'm being deliberately ignored, which will make me mad.

Oh, and yes Alex Kennedy is my real name (sort of, long story). Yes, it's weird that I have it as my name on here. But it's kind of my thing, I guess. I'm weird that way.
