"Hmm..." Storm hummed to himself as he looked around the Manehatten train station. Grey and the rest of the Ponyville CMC Branch had asked him to go to Manehatten and escort some of the members to Ponyville. "Heh, I think I spoil that colt sometimes... But with what he's gone through, I can't say I'll stop anytime soon..." He mused with a smile.

 

Storm sighed as he gave up on trying to locate the CMC members manually and pulled a large sign from... Somewhere... And held it up. The sign read : 'Cutie Mark Crusader (Manehatten Branch) Escort to Ponyville' with a large blue arrow pointing down at himself. "I hope this gets their attention..." He thought.

"There he is!" a strong filly's voice announced towards Storm Shine. At that moment, an orange filly ushered a family of four onto the station platform. The parents carried fully-packed brightly colored saddlebags while their two foals ran over to the sign-wielding pegasus. Both foals were bulky in appearance, much like the orange filly, but colored a bright blue, each with and brown and cream mane.

 

"Storm!" Babs greeted the pegasus. "I have two foals ready to make the trip to Ponyville. This is Brownie Chip and Sundae Shake. They're from across the Bucklyn Bridge. I may have more coming, I'm just not sure when you want to make the trip back."

"Let's hope Storm and Nimble are okay after that cider party incident," commented Riley as he and his brother Reece trotted through Manehattan.

 

"The nerve of that mare! Strutting around trying to steal your girl!" said Reece. "Oh, look, there's the sign!"

 

They galloped over to it. "I'm ready!" said Reece.

Storm smiled, "Alrighty then... Is that everypony?" He asked. "Let's see... One, two, three, four... Yep, I think that's everypony.." Storm mused aloud. "Hey Riley, I hope you've been doing well.. Get together with Anala yet?" He greeted before asking his friend with a sly grin.

"Yeah, that's all." Babs agreed.

 

"I'm so excited!" Sundae grinned. "I've never been to Ponyville before."

 

"Just don't let Pinkie Pie hear that, Sundae," Babs warned her. "She just loves meeting new ponies."

 

"Speaking of new ponies," Brownie said. "What are the crusaders from Ponyville like, Babs? You've met them before."

 

"I'm sure you'll enjoy meeting them, Brownie," Babs explained. "They're very determined, though. I'll tell you more on the train."

"Alright everypony, keep ahold of these okay?" Storm said, passing out train tickets to the four foals. "And stick close, I don't want to lose track of any of you..." He told them with a smile. "Oh... One more thing I think I should tell you.." Storm realized. "If anypony gets hungry, don't hesitate to ask for some food. I'll be glad to either provide some, or pay for some from the train's snack place." He happily informed the foals.

 

"Alright everypony, onwards to Ponyville!" Storm exclaimed, ushering the foals onto the train as the train whistle blew.

 

(OOC: I'm going to assume that Riley stuttered, blushed, and denied getting together with Anala unless you want to tell me otherwise in your next post Rainbow )

Brownie and Sundae hugged and kissed their parents goodbye before Storm led them onto the train with their belongings. They waved at them from the nearest window they could find as the train pulled out.

 

"I think we're good on food, Storm," Sundae said. "Mom packed us cookies for our trip."

 

"Hey, Reece," Brownie asked the other colt. "Why's your brother acting so strange? Is he all right?"

Storm smiled at Sundae, "That was thoughtful of her..." He said happily, snickering as he heard Brownie asking Reece about Riley's reaction. "So Babs.." Storm started, turning towards said filly. "It's nice to meet Applebloom's favorite cousin. She's been telling Grey and I all about you these last couple days.." He informed her with a smile and a chuckle.

Babs smiled at Storm, remembering her last visit to Ponyville. "I owe my life to my cousin. She taught me what it means to be a good friend. I just hope none of us don't run into Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon again. The last thing we need is for them to complain that we're increasing the "Blank Flank population" or whatnot."

Storm chuckled, "You might, but than again... They are still pretty embarrassed about the last prank the Grey played on them..." He informed Babs. "I swear, he's learning so fast.... Not even a week after I adopted him, and he's already pranking others...." Storm said thoughtfully, a small tear of pride escaping his right eye. "And it's definitely a better way of letting off anger and standing up for his friends than physical violence..." He concluded with a smile.

Babs rolled her eyes, remembering how badly her pranks on the crusaders went before they tried to turn the tables on her. "I'd watch my back if I was Grey," she sighed. "One of these days, he's going to do something he'll regret. We'll be there to back him up in case that ever happens. Brownie and Sundae haven't met him but I don't know if Reece has. I better ask him."

"Yeah, he's fine," said Reece. "Just... allergies to a bug that flew past."

 

Riley bent down to Reece's level. "Nice one," he whispered thankfully.

 

 

 

"One of these days, he's going to do something he'll regret. We'll be there to back him up in case that ever happens. Brownie and Sundae haven't met him but I don't know if Reece has. I better ask him."

 

"No, but he sounds fun!" said Reece.

 

Riley, meanwhile, was talking to Storm. "You'd better be careful telling what you said about food to me. I have an appetite like an elephant's."

Storm chuckled, "Riley.... You do remember the food parade right?" He asked with a raised brow. "I'm pretty sure that If I can pay for my appetite, I can pay for yours...." Storm informed Riley with a smile. "After all, I'm pretty sure there was enough food in that parade for an elephant or two..." Storm laughed.

"The food buffet was free, remember?" said Riley. "I hope I can get some dog food for Cookie," he went on lookinh down at his faithful pet.

Storm gasped as he looked down at Cookie, "I didn't even see him there!" He exclaimed. "OhmygoshItotallydidn'tevenrealizeyouwerebringingCookieonthistrip,butthat'ssoawesomeazing!" Storm continued with a big smile, before taking a deep breath. "Here Cookie, Have a treat!" Storm chirped, offering a couple of doggy biscuits out of a bag that he pulled from... Somewhere.... to the dog.

Cookie sniffed the treats before happily munching on them.

 

"Perhaps I can tell you all the story of how we first met," said Riley. "It really makes me think about whether it was okay for me to do what I did..."

 

"It was perfectly alright, big brother," said Reece.

Storm gasped again, "The story of how you and Cookie met?" He exclaimed. Storm seemed to flicker where he stood for a moment before disappearing from sight. "Story time!" He cried out happily from the seat he had taken behind Riley. "I bet it's a real doozy of a doozy!"

Riley cleared his throat.

 

 

"When I moved out of my parents' house and got a place of my own, I was looking to get a pet dog. However, the options at the dog pound in Manehattan were all much too expensive. It was really more of a place for the upper-crust richer ponies. I decided I would look somewhere else the next day. That evening, I went through an alleyway, and a dog ran up to me and began sniffing his leg. I noticed how skinny and hungry this dog seemed, so I fed the dog the treats he was keeping in his pocket."

 

"Just then, an angry stallion's voice sounded. The pony it belonged to was not happy with me for feeding the dog, and demanded me to get away from the dog, which whimpered at the voice and brushed up against my leg. I said to the owner, 'If I give you back this dog, do you promise to care for it, and give it a good life?'. The other stallion shouted back that he didn't have to promise anything, and once again demanded the return of the dog, and stepped closer to me."

 

"The dog was now letting out tiny barks of despair and nuzzled up to me, and I did the first thing that popped into his head in the very short time they had. That being, pick up the dog and fly away out of the other stallion's sight."

 

"I took the dog to the vet, and it turned out that the dog had a few injuries, and had not been fed properly for quite some time. To save the dog from going back to its there-can-be-no-doubt-about-it-the-pony-who-owned-him-was-cruel owner, I lied to the vet, saying that he found the dog as a stray."

 

"I was then allowed to take the dog in as his own. I sometimes still wonder whether it was okay to do what I did..."

Storm's eyes watered as he gasped, "Poor Cookie!" He exclaimed, sweeping the dog up into a hug and offering some more dog treats. "What a meany-weeny meanie pants!" Storm continued with a small frown. "It's a good thing you came along Riley!" Storm informed his friend with a decisive nod. "Nopony or pet or any living creature in general deserves to be in a situation like that! Why, I bet even Fluttershy might consider physical violence against a pony for what that old meany pants owner did..." He ranted, before pausing and taking a breath. "Well at least you're safe and happy now, huh Cookie?" Storm asked the dog, setting him down on the train chair and patting his head.

Brownie and Sundae trotted over while Riley told his story and each took their turns petting Cookie.

 

"Wow, you poor thing!" Sundae exclaimed, then turned to Riley. "As long as he's safe, that should could count."

 

"Yeah," Brownie agreed, reaching for a snack bag. "And you've fed him pretty well too. Speaking of which, I'm a little hungry myself" The colt pulled a treat out and munched it hungrily.

 

"Mmm," he remarked. "Weird flavor."

 

"Uh, Brownie?" Babs pointed with wide eyes. "I don't think those were for you."

 

Brownie turned his head to look in the bag and gulped hard. On the package wasn't the picture of cookies he had been expecting but a picture of a dog biscuit. Babs and Sundae burst into laughter as Brownie gagged. They couldn't help it.

Storm chuckled, as he flipped a dog biscuit out of the bag and quickly snapped it up. "Yummy! I see why cookie likes them.... But I think I'll stick to my muffins and cupcakes!" Storm said with a happy grin. He pulled a chocolate muffin from... Somewhere... and began to munch on it. "Omn."

Brownie and Sundae weren't as surprised to see an adult eating dog biscuits. Then again, Brownie had never accidentally eaten dog food before and his family didn't own any dogs.

 

"We've got cookies if you're hungry, Storm," Sundae offered. "Mom plenty of them."

 

"I think I'll take one," Babs said and Sundae passed her one.

 

"I'm sorry I ate Cookie's food, Riley," Brownie blushed as he found his own bag of his mother's cookies.

Storm chuckled. "No thanks Sundae, Pinkie gave me plenty of muffins and a few cupcakes before I left to pick you guys up! I would've made some, but she beat me to it.." He informed the others with a smile, pulling out another muffin from... Somewhere... and taking a bite. "Omn."

Brownie and Sundae looked at each other for a moment, then back at Storm with curiosity. First Babs and now Storm were going on and on about this Pinkie. Whoever she was, she seemed like a strange yet extraordinary mare.

 

"Hey, Storm?" Sundae walked up to him. "Who's Pinkie? Is she from Ponyville, too?"

"Our mom makes the best cookies!" boasted Riley. He produced a container of homemade cookies. "She would pack a cookie each in my lunch bag every day for school. Sometimes, other foals would come over asking to trade desserts. That gives you an idea of how hoof-lickin' good they are."
