...it has always been like this with everything, including MLP. Excuse me if I become a gigantic ass for this comment, but if you are just realizing this, should you of all people be making comments like this?

We are on the internet, love and toleration do not exist here.

I was just making a point that this fandom has turned into something awful.

i follow love and tolerance my own way

no matter who you are or what you do i will tolerate you, unless what you are doing is against the law or harmful to yourself or others, then do what ever you want i dont care

and i try to be a nice person when ever possible

now theyre are certain people that i dont like but i try to avoid conflict with them when i can

Love and toleration is a very flawed motto. People seem to think it means you can't disagree with anyone or ever say anything bad about anything.

I tolerate a lot of stuff, but by tolerate, I mean I don't lead crusades against it. In fact, I probably tolerate a lot more than most bronies. I accept that some people are racist, I accept that some people hate homosexual, I accept that otherwise rational people believe stupid stuff because they are uninformed on a certain subject. I accept all of that and don't go making threads about it, or call anyone on it unless the subject is brought up. I don't insult people even when I think they're too stupid to be allowed on the internet. I don't start arguments, only join them. I don't go out of my way to start shit with people I disagree with. That's how I tolerate.

The love aspect is worse, though. Nobody should be expected to love anybody or anything that, in their eyes, doesn't deserve it.

I think a better way to rephrase this would be is that the shitty side of the fandom has become more apparent. All that can be said is that it was bound to happen, so try not to act so surprised.

People are, and I will say this openly, complete idiots and hypocritical to the core. It's always been this way, especially in this fanbase. It's just that there's a ton more of us now that it's becoming alot more evident.

All you can do is keep on kickin' and hope for the best.

You are always going to find people in any fandom or w/e it may be that will bring down the reputation and stink up the place. Its best to not give those people any recognition and move on. The whole love n' tolerance thing I believe is a wonderful thing to keep in mind. However just because a few people do not display love n' tolerance does not mean the entire fandom has been affected. 

Personally I love the fandom and being reason as to why I decided to stay here. You are always going to find others who are out there who just want to leave a bad mark I suppose.

Love and Tolerate easily becomes Ignore your points and Insert my own.  It's the internet, man.  You can't tell me you didn't see this coming.

Regardless. There are still people who aren't assholes, and that's worth something in the world we live in.

There are some of us that that do post content to help  some ponies go through dark times they feel they are going through. It is us that do not pay attention or have short attention spans or are lazy or simply refuse to do what is good for oneself.

LnT is just a phrase to be used as a shield, weather you lift that shield high or cower behind it.

I discovered the show and fandom four and a half months ago. In that time, I could have chosen to judge the entire community by several members, threads and fan works that I found offensive.

I didn't.

If I'm ever going to turn away from this place, it's going to take more than that. Two simple principles: (1) don't sweat the fandom, (2) offer respect and, yes, tolerance to all who will accept it. Even if I disagree with them or just don't like talking to them. I've been online for eight years and seen fandoms that got infinitely worse than any hairy incidents here (which I may dramatize in my blog later on).

No offense but it seems like it really dosen't take all that much to shock you, yeah that individual went a bit far by telling you to "shove your opinions up your ass with your brain" but before then I understood where he was coming from.

The sad truth is no matter how good the fandom is as a whole you will run into some people that are jerks and even some people that are otherwise reasonable can sometimes lose their cool. I will admit that I have nasty temper though not nearly as bad as it used to be and the whole Derpy situation is one of those issues that really gets me steamed.

Yes some people got offended by Derpy but why should any of us care what they think? Those kind of people get offended by anything and everything and to me are just another kind of hater.

Sure maybe returning hate with hate is not the best way to go about things but does that really mean that we need to automatically cater to the whims of people who in all likelihood don't watch the show and are not part of the fandom and let them ruin something for everyone else? There is a huge difference between tolerant and being a doormat and while I have no issue with being tolerant I will not be a doormat.

Just continue enjoying the show and the good parts of the fandom and don't worry about it.

Was bound to happen? I actually think that's slightly insulting. Does it seem like everything in the internet and/or fandom has this kind of people? Yes, but it's not like we CAN'T be surprised when that idea we had gets somewhat broken. Plus, you have to admit, the response in this case was pretty damn direct. I know I'm an impressionble person, but I think most would at least rise their eyebrows. And as for the fandom itself, why CAN'T we be surprised. It's like we should be expecting every second now that suddenly all the bronies who aren't exactly angels and ACT like the character of the same name will rise, and by a lot. And that frankly isn't what one should be doing.

But my questions to you Crona are: Do you think that the fandom has more bad than good? Or do you think that the bad rised faster than you could have ever expected? And do you think that that same bad part overcomes the good?

I fell in love with the show longe before i came to realize that there was a fandom. And while i love the fandom as well... yes... we have our problems.

I do like the phrase love and tolerate. It is a great idea to stand by both in real life and online. I have a natural respect and love for everyone. I treat all others as my equals... or my superiors... and i never actually hate anyone. It literally makes me feel horrid to have dark feelings toward someone.

As for tolerance. I feel this is a much needed virtue in todays society.

I tolerate even that which upsets me...

I dont see why people try and say that this is a terrible motto to at least acknowledge.
