With her single eyelash on each eye, Maud shares her eye design with many female Crystal Ponies. She is a very monotone character.
Backstory

Maud is one of the sisters of Pinkie Pie, and lives on her rock farm.

Maud had graduated from her rock academy and has her Rockterate in geology.
Personality

Maud is often depicted with a blank neutral facial expression with her eyes half-closed and a dry demeanor that contrasts her more upbeat sister. She has a tendency to talk in a rather monotonous and dry tone of voice. She never smiles except for a few occasions while interacting with her closest friends such as Pinkie, Apple Bloom in Hearthbreakers, Starlight in Rock Solid Friendship and Student Counsel, and Mudbriar in The Maud Couple and Student Counsel.

In addition, Maud is shown to have a deep knowledge of and fascination with rocks. Despite her typically flat demeanor, she deeply loves her sister Pinkie Pie and shows a deep concern for her when her life is put in apparent danger. Despite not sharing Pinkie's interests in throwing surprise parties and making candy, she enjoys doing such activities with Pinkie solely because her sister does.

Despite her apathetic demeanor, Maud is shown to be a mature and responsible sister for Pinkie, especially when saving her from a dangerous obstacle course in her debut episode.

She also appears to share some of Pinkie's characteristics, such as claiming to have an intuition known as "Maud Sense", and at two points in The Gift of the Maud Pie, she seems to disappear from one space and appear in another.

Rock Solid Friendship reveals that Maud often feels excluded by other ponies, due to their inability to understand her interests and mannerisms. She also has a love for stand-up comedy, as shown in Make New Friends but Keep Discord and The Maud Couple.

By this point, Maud was silent as she was brought up with the others. She was glad to leave the surface behind - knowing there were likely unseen dangers down below on the surface. Not to mention, it was good that Light was brought into a well guarded area that was isolated from the rest of the crew. Maud would still follow the others to the secure area, waiting to see what the word was about what would be done with Light. Part of her was hoping that they could just keep him away from the others on the ship until they could find some place to drop him off, knowing he might be potentially dangerous.

(Spiral)

Spiral would let Euclid leave and say nothing else to him as he left, then she would look to the archive staff and kindly say that next time she would like to confirm things next time. Though Power was to be trusted - it was always good to make sure just in case. She'd look into it - though she wasn't too worried about it. To be honest, Spiral was rather annoyed by how she was treated by Euclid. It seemed like he cared more about the elections rather than furthering the knowledge of the Project as a whole.

The Trade-Walkers would be satisfied with the information exchange. There was a buzzing sound as Power cut off his telepathic communications - though it was only heard by him. The large group of the Trade-Walkers, would seemingly congregate together - with their tall locust-like forms being rather imposing as their wings buzzed a bit. They were seemingly communicating amongst themselves. The various glowing orbs on their backs would strobe yellows, oranges and reds. The vessel of the Trade-Walkers, the large black triangular craft would open it's doors. A few of Trade-Walkers would march towards the opening, with even strides - their wings vibrating in the sunlight.

A smaller group of Trade-Walkers would flare their wings and take to the skies, flying in a different direction as their vessel would soundlessly take off and depart the area.

Maud would listen to the following conversation between Last and Light - her half lidded eyes observantly following what was being said. Light was a strange pony - if he was one at all, it was more likely to her that he was some kind of entity from another plane of existence. It made a lot of sense, actually. "Hm. Whatever the case is - you are no normal pony, and I cannot trust you. You are wild. Erratic. Chaotic. Whatever you are - I don't think I'll ever know." Maud stated, clearly not finding herself very fond of Light's presence.

Spiral had been sitting there while looking over various papers across her desk - until that unsettled feeling washed across her mind. Instantly she stood up and looked around, as if expecting something to happen. She must have stood there in silence for roughly a minute or so until she noticed the note on the table. Spiral felt very nervous about this, "Whoever, or whatever you are...what do you have to do with Power User?" she asked quietly, not really expecting an answer.
(Maud)

Maud would look to Amber and Last, "I believe we would be capable of doing so. From what I remember about him - Light was always highly unstable and erratic. He is no ordinary pony...he is something else that defies logic. That is the extent of my knowledge about his personality." Maud said, calmly. "As for the visitors - best keep an eye on them." she added, glancing in the direction of the Trade-Walkers who were seemingly just waiting about for the information exchange to take place.

Maud would remain silent and observant of the situation. This was not a time for talking. Maud was ready for combat if needed - but the silence in the air from the side of the locust-like creatures was something noteworthy. Maud wouldn't do anything, for now other than observe.

Meanwhile, the creatures would respond with silence for a moment before the same voice would sound through the unicorn's head. "Your technology. Unfamiliar. Not from this world, nor are your kind. We make deals. Yes. That is our name. Your language is primitive - let us convey what we have to offer to you, and you do the same." the voice sounded.

In the unicorn's mind, various impressions were made about the technology the Trade-Walkers had on their persons. Their "Shotguns" were made of organic matter and out of a special organic resin, with a certain type of larvae contained within the barrel that produces what could only be understood as "Anti-Protons", for an Anti-Proton beam. The impression shifted, and the glowing orbs on their backs were connection sources to link their minds so they act entirely telepathically, without the need for primitive vocal communications.

Their ship, was the most interesting part. Was more advanced than what powered the Project, as the impression was that it had some sort of way to fly itself through Anti-Gravity powered through an electrical field generation system.

True to their name, they offer a trade.
"Your world's history and what happened. How you came here. Your kind. That is what we want in turn. To know." the voice spoke in a strange manner, but that was probably because of the translation - it was clear they wanted to know about the history of ponies and how they arrived here in this world.

The advancing locust creatures would stop their approach as soon as the shield dome rose up. The glowing orbs on their back would strobe various purples and yellow colors in a fluid-like fashion, as the unicorn successfully managed to reach out to the creatures minds. The unicorn had the mental impression that they were looking into a massive well, despite not seeing anything. The well's depth was something that almost seemed to evoke a primal sense of fear.

This well contained all kinds of buzzing and scant disjointed information. The first notable thing the unicorn would see in their mind as a form of response would be that of a view of the base camp itself, as seen from the point of view of the approaching craft as it came in a minute ago. There would be various feelings overlayed with the mental image of the area being seen from above. Confusion. Curiosity. Worry.

There would be a sudden sharp buzzing sound and then a pop as the buzzing sound ended. A distinct authoritative male voice came through, and the feelings ended. The male voice had a strange accent, and sounded very insect-like in how it's words were stated.

"We are the Trade-Walkers. We have not seen your kind before. Whom do you serve?" the voice asked sharply, getting right to the point.

Only the unicorn could hear/feel what was being conveyed to them.

Maud would remain silent. Her eyes were transfixed on the approaching vehicle. Maud would not say anything, her focus was too busy focusing on the scene before them.
As the vehicle got closer there was an odd sort of buzzing in the air and it did not appear to react to their attempt to intercept it. It was dead set on landing fairly close by. There were no notable weapons seen on the vehicle. It was a perfect geometric triangle with no obvious windows or propulsion systems. As it began to lower towards the ground there was a visible green glow around the craft as it extended landing gear of some sort.
There was an eerie silence for a minute or so after the craft had landed. Then all of a sudden a door would begin to open on the "Front" of the craft. A sort of stairway would suddenly appear on the side of the craft silently. However the stairway appeared - it was sudden and unexpected. The doorway fully opened granting a vague look at the interior of the craft. Not much detail could be seen but the most important thing was that they could see movement approaching the doorway.

There were a pair of very tall locust-like creatures with heads similar to that of a Mantis. They both carried what looked like to be shotguns, but the shotguns were lowered. As the pair walked closer they could be seen more in detail. Dark black and dark green were the most common traits, with large folded translucent wings across their backs. They walked with an odd stagger. The pair were followed by four other ones, woh were taking up the rear behind them.

They would spot the guards and begin to walk towards them, and take no offensive action yet. They almost seemed to waddle, along with their staggering walk. They were mostly around three times the height of a normal pony, and far stronger physically. On their backs seemed to be various glowing orbs that seemed to strobe in random patterns of yellow and dark red. At least one of them had silver mandibles, what that meant, was unknown.

Maud would look to Last, and largely agree with her statement about Light. "Light from what I remember was no ordinary pony. It was very possible he wasn't even a pony at all. I never knew enough or experienced him enough to know for sure what he was, or what he isn't - I do remember one thing though, he was a load of trouble to be around. I heard stories from others years ago who got into the situations that he caused. Was a mess." Maud spoke. There was silence for a few moments and it seemed like Maud was going to speak further but there was something...off about her stare which seemed to look past Last.

Last did not have to wait a moment further to see what Maud had been looking at. Above the nearby mountain they were nearby to, there had been the sudden appearance of a large winged craft. The design of it was nothing like the ponies had seen before. It was made out of some kind of dark green material. It was descending upon their position quite rapidly. Within less than a minute, the craft would be descending down upon them.

Who was within or what their intentions were was unknown. Maud looked to Last.

"Be on your guard. Someone else is here." she said in an ominous tone, dropping the previous conversation about light. There was something far more important now.

Maud would look to Last and narrow her eyes slightly in thought, "I heard that was a close call for the away team that went away. The current Consul was among you, and she saved Aurum Nexus. Light's death ended up being a mystery for years. I highly doubt he came back from the dead in this dimension, for seemingly no reason. There would be no possible reason for him to find himself here. There is nothing here that any of us recognize, why would he show himself him now?" Maud asked with a highly skeptical look across her face - showing that indeed, she refused to believe that someone like Light could apparently still be alive after it was well known that he died years ago. It was a done deal in her eyes. Light was dead. This was not something she was just going to idly believe in. Maud hoped that Amber was able to disprove the notion of this being Light himself. She did not like what implications him being alive may hold - that there could be something more dangerous out there that can pull someone of space and time.

Maud would watch the guards take light away and was satisfied with this situation. Maud did not have much sympathy for his situation - there was no confirmation that it was actually him or not. Even if it was, it would not change the fact that she truly didn't feel much about this situation. At least not currently. Though she wouldn't lie, she were quite curious about it. It was not her business to decide what should happen with him, however.
Maud would return to the perimeter to continue doing the task ahead. While they were conversing, Maud was setting up the various equipment they had yet to get to due to the disruption Light's supposed presence had caused. Maud was a hard worker who put her work before everything else. Though, she would converse a bit while she was doing so.

"If it is indeed him, we do not know what has happened to him. Inter-dimensional travel, like he seemingly had went through - has unknown affects on one's mind. It is very possible this is a highly dangerous situation we have not prepared for." she said, her eyes narrowing slightly. "If I had any thoughts on this - you saw it yourself. He died. The current Consul was also there with you, she saw him die as well. The question how anyone would pose as Light, or why anyone would, is something I don't have an answer to. This place is strange. We do not know what is here." she spoke, looking out into the distant green fog.

Maud would look to Amber and nod, and step back. Her eyes looked on at Light with the cold harsh unfeeling nature they always had. Maud had been with light on quite a few times in the past, 20 years ago - but now she felt no such sort of camaraderie that she once did. While Maud did speak to Light, she was skeptical that it was actually him. It was more likely this was some sort of trick meant to deceive them. Who knows what is here and how things operate in this strange world that clearly isn't Equestria.
"Lock him up and segregate him from the rest of the Away Team. Feel free to interrogate him." Maud spoke, and allowed them to take Light away to a more secure location. She looked to last, an eyebrow quirking, as if silently wondering what Last thought of the whole ordeal. Maud's eyes would narrow slightly at Light's apparent crazyness. Who knows what happened to him if that truly is him.

(Spiral)

Spiral's blood would run cold at the mention of White Light. She would proceed to give Amber the various information that she requested, as well as saying that Spiral personally worked with him years ago. Spiral would strongly emphasize that Light was to be locked up and guarded until the Away Team returns. She also stated that once they return, they need to examine White Light to make sure it really was him under extremely secure conditions including Medical and Psychological evaluations. If it wasn't him, she would also strongly urge that he not be taken with them. Spiral would not tell anyone about the O5 interaction, her reasoning actually being that she wouldn't take anyone or anything with them that wasn't theirs. If this was truly White Light - then he'd be most certainly welcome aboard.

Mayor Mare has believed that with hard work everypony can achieve great things. Unlike Unicorns with their magical abilities and Pegasus with their powerful wings to generate power, the Earth Ponies depend on their wits and strength alone. They considered the others as lazy and thought highly of themselves. Derpy, a Pegasi, was considered as an outcast with her own kind, when Mayor Mare welcomed her in Ponyville- Derpy tried to teach the Earth Ponies that no matter what traits you are born with wIth- it doesn't define who you are. Its what you do that does.

Queen Haven banished usage of most technologies. She has zero tolerance for it and believes that pegasi are meant to use their wing power to generate power itself. Not machines. Pipp loves social media because it helps her feel connected to her own generation better. Darkness fell upon Zephyr Heights - darkness to be rumored came from the depths of Tartarus. The Pegasi were cut off from the world and Queen Haven still refused to use technology to call for help from the outside world. She has the Pegasus use their wing power to prowl the sky hoping the darkness will be lifted. Unfortunately the solution didn’t last long. Pipps and Zipp behind their mother’s back will do anything to save their city even if that means breaking their mother's rules.

Pinkie here! I wield one of Equestria's most powerful weapons! The Rocket propelled rainbow grenade of friendship.
I enjoy spending fun time with my pony friends in Ponyville, baking cakes and throwing parties. Also I like music! Anything with a good beat.
But when evil ponies or monsters threaten my friends... I blow em up with friendship grenades >:3 and sometimes with my pump-action Gatling purple unicorn laser, and also best friend, Twilight Sparkle. As pictured below.

It was the middle of Spring in the Emerald Isles, and the famed Archaeologist and Historian, Ripple Twist, was busy excavating some ancient ruins that recently been discovered. She had set some samples of rock and gems she had found to be dated in later days, while she continued to unearth the ruins.
About mid afternoon on the third day, Ripple would look up from her digging spot to see a grey mare looking at the rocks and gems she had set aside. Trotting over to them, she would ask "Excuse me miss, I don't seem to recognise you as a part of my team, may I ask what you are doing here?"

Ever since Discord betrayed Celestia to her death, turning the tide of the onslaught in favor of the spawn of Tartarus, those who survived were constantly hiding or on the run. If the spawn didn't tear you to bits, you had Discord's bands of loyal raiders to watch out for, and, if you were really unlucky, Discord himself snatching up creatures and sending them to Faust knows where.
It's been a year since Canterlot fell, you and a few others have been lucky so far, dodging patrols and the roving herds of spawn while still finding enough food to stay alive. You've lost a few members of your group over time, and found new ones as well. A few have told of certain strongholds, "Bastions of Civilization" they called them, hidden away in the discordant wasteland that was once Equestria.
Your group was headed in the vague direction of where one might be when your luck finally ran out. The forest you had been using as cover suddenly blew away like so much dandelion fluff, revealing your position to a nearby herd of spawn.
And so you ran, trying with all your strength to outrun the spawn. But inwardly you knew you wouldn't be able to outrun them forever, or even outfly them as some took to the sky in pursuit. You knew that you, and everyone else in your group would soon be overtaken and killed. Until...
*Whoosh
Something small but heavy flew past your ear, not unlike a brick, then...
*Boom
A small explosion rocks the ground behind you, and from above a large shape appears, it's a crude vehicle, little more than a large metal box with a pair of wings and large propellers. The back is open with a ramp extending down. A mare stands in the opening with a large rifle, she motions for you to jump onto the ramp, "Get in!"
They wait for as many of your group who survived to get on, helping in any who couldn't jump in on their own, and firing back at any of the spawn who got too close. Once they're all in the ramp closes behind them and the vehicle lifts higher into the sky.
Inside the vehicle wasn't anything too special, benches on either side allowed for everyone to take a seat if they so desired. The mare who had helped save them set her rifle back across her back and lifted up her goggles to reveal her calm teal eyes, "Is anyone hurt?"
