    The question of whether this is a good idea is kind of a moot point, because with the show still being primarily marketed at grade schoolers Hasbro will not go for extensive exploration of relationships and the drama that would inevitably result. For practical purposes, that is the beginning and end of the discussion. Hypothetically, if that were not the case? I dunno... I gotta go along with the others who have said ALL of them having a boyfriend would be too much for the show to handle. I mean, we've had the Spike/Rarity dynamic, but since the "big reveal" we've had about 30 episodes without a mention of there being any sort of development on that front. It's been status quo ever since, and that dangling subplot seems like an awkward question that everyone is too polite to ask. ("Spike at Your Service" was supposed to be a Spike/Rarity episode, so maybe they DID have something planned at one point, but still.) If all of the Mane Six got boyfriends or crushes, would the same thing happen? I'm inclined to believe it would. The good news is, for someone who WOULD like to explore this particular idea, there's always fanfiction.

    Got my copy now. I actually haven't seen the main movie yet, as I went straight to the extra interviews. (That's what I was more interested in seeing anyway.) The interviews are really good, and I was pleasantly surprised at how broad the topics were while still staying mostly focused on the show. Lauren's interview is particularly awesome. Apparently she was an X-Men fan. Always good to encounter another one of those.

    We can quibble over what the proper terminology is all day long, but that's pointless and non-productive. Regardless of what they are intended to be/should be referred to as, I don't like the designs. Period. P-u-r-e-u-d, period. The tails and colors just look... off, and the overall design just seems rushed and slipshod to me. They might end up being polished between now and airing, and the designs might look better when we see them along with a full look at the world they will be placed in, but for now I have no choice but to call them as I see them. And as I see them here... nope, not doing anything for me. Just not appealing designs. I think they can do better.

    Eh... still really not feeling these designs. The tails, wings, and odd colors work in MLP because they are PONIES. Put them on humans and it looks like a low-effort cash-in on an established brand. Other than the fact that they're standing upright, these designs don't really look like humans at all. I'll echo the poster above who said that I've seen better art and designs on DA. Then again, the fan-made plushes are better than the official ones you see in stores, so maybe that isn't much of a surprise.

    I'm a little surprised the good Doctor didn't throw up a banner of Rarity after closing the voting. YAY RAINBOW DASH! My second favorite pony wins! Okay Pinkie, start organizing the victory parade through Ponyville. We have a crazy victory party to launch. Congrats to Dashie. I know I already used this song on the thread, but now it's for Rainbow.

    This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen, right up there with the Make-A-Wish thing where a kid battling cancer got to meet Hellboy. It must be shared with everypony possible. Background info: The video below is footage of a play from the University of Nebraska football team's Spring Game. (Spring Games, for the non-football fans, are basically glorified practices where they split the team in two and have them play each other like it's an actual game.) But in this game, Nebraska put in a young man named Jack Hoffman for a play, and... well, see for yourself. WARNING: The video below is incredibly heart-warming, and may just restore your broken faith in humanity. I could offer commentary on how cool it is for them to make that kid's dream come true after all of the difficulty he has endured, and how it's great to see a college football program finally... FINALLY... setting a good example of what athletics should be all about, but I'm sure everyone who sees this will do that for me. So instead I'll just point out... kid's got some skills. I mean, look at that little guy go. I think he's got some Dashie in him. Also, mad props to Nebraska. I've definitely gained some respect for that university and that team.

    Fair enough. Have the Death Battle guys put Pinkie in an episode, and then we'll talk. Speaking of Death Battle, I get the feeling that Pinkie would be quite the formidable opponent in that. Her mastery of Toon Power hasn't been used often or explored in-depth, but she's clearly got it, and that alone makes her a ridiculously OP character in any hypothetical fight. Maybe on par with Bugs Bunny. XD

    Very well done, but I must take exception to the "kindest soul" line, as that title belongs, now and forever, to the holder of the Element of Kindness herself. And while everything you have said may be all well and good and all that jazz, Dashie gets my vote as promised. Several reasons why, so here's a handy little list. -Pinkie's greatest gift is giving joy to others... how better to do this than let somepony else win this year? I'm sure Pinkie herself would agree, it's no fun when the same pony keeps winning the game every time. -Three words: awesome and cool. That's Dash. -Dash's developing interest in reading gave the fandom its Indiana Jones, in the form of Daring Do. Again, awesome and cool. -Can Pinkie Pie make a Sonic Rainboom? No. No she cannot. Oh, speaking of that... -Dash is basically the reason Pinkie discovered her gift for spreading joy in the first place. Everything her army of followers love her for? Thank Dashie. A vote would be a good place to start with that. I'm just sayin'. If none of that seals the deal, though, how about the fact that Dashie SLAYED A DECEPTICON!

    So we have this... ...versus this. Okay, let me make one thing very clear from the start: I am VERY sympathetic to arguments against Pinkie Pie winning this tournament. She won last year so someone else really ought to get it this time, her character became shockingly one-dimensional and predictable for most of season 3, and she has always been in the lower half of the mane six for me. Then again... This is still Pinkie Pie we're talking about here. She has dedicated her life to teh lulz, and while her randomness may not always hit the mark, her heart is always in the right place. She's every bit as adorable as the other main characters and has had quite the compelling life story. She is, in short, a character I ALWAYS root for whether I feel like it or not. Also, while she lost a few cool points in season 3, Discord lost more. I'm sorry, he just did. Free Chaotic Neutral became Tamed Chaotic Neutral, and that's just not a positive development for him. Season 2 Discord might be a tempting vote for me in this matchup. But Discord as we know him now? No. He's not as awesome. He's not as interesting. And he's not Pinkie Pie. PS: Don't count on me for too long, Pinkie fans. My support will last exactly long enough for the round to switch. Dashie FTW.

    I said I'd be back, and here I am. No, not with a specific sig request. Not quite ready to pull the trigger just yet. But I can say that I'm creating an OC, I'm really excited about finishing it, it will for sure be what I end up using, and the request will be coming soon.

    And if they win it all, I can take a small bit of extra pride in the fact that Bucky beat them not once, but TWICE. So yeah, go get 'em. Also, here's another one of my favorites, and one that happens to be a perfect metaphor for what Rainbow Dash has done to each of her opponents in this tournament so far.

    Now, unfortunately, the AJ fans know the pain I felt a few short nights ago. AJ's lead was as large as six today, and just like that it was gone with a huge flurry at the end. Same thing happened to Flutters against Luna. Speaking of that, voting for Luna. I have a buddy that REALLY would like to see Luna win, so I shall do my part to make it happen. Though I certainly understand the rationale of choosing Discord. I'd just rather not be on the bad side of a ridiculously OP Alicorn.

    Yes, it has a devoted and large fan base, but it's still very much a British show and it is not generally tailored to the sensibilities of mainstream American audiences. My comment was meant more on a conceptual level. It's unique. It's bold. It's different. NO ONE does what Doctor Who does. But even from a popularity standpoint, the Internet only has so much pull. This show is on channels that many households still don't get, much less watch. There are large segments of the population where it can be hard to find any Whovians.

    Really? That's a thing that's happening? I wasn't aware that a large portion of the Whovian community was anti-MLP, and that in fact seems counter-intuitive to me. Doctor Who is a decidedly non-mainstream show that has gathered a very large, diverse, and devoted following because of its interesting stories and characters and excellent scripts. Sound familiar? It should, and I know plenty of bronies who are also Whovians. But Whovians being anti-MLP? If it's really happening, that's just... depressing. They of all people ought to know better.

    With my vote added, AJ is now leading by a touchdown, 20-13. Fall Weather Friends... REMATCH! I want to see this happen. I am also SHOCKED that no one is going to the boards here to lobby on Twilight's behalf. This is all pro-AJ posts.

    YES! Cadence and Pinkie advanced. An all-princess Final Four is still on the table, though still a tad unlikely. Please don't send me to the moon for this, Celestia, but I'm going Dashie this round.

    Okay... serious kudos is in order to whoever drew that picture. THAT. IS. AMAZING. The coloring, the composition... the sadness and the emotion almost feels tangible. Thanks for posting. Good to know there are others that share in my sadness.

    Are we forgetting someone? Like, someone we're voting on right now? Someone who just so happens to be the one who not only beat Luna last year, but won the whole thing? Pinkie Pie will likely breeze to the Final Four, and she is more than capable of beating Luna. Don't underestimate the power of the party cannon... biggest mistake anyone will ever make. Edit: I'd also say a narrow win over Derpy is a sign of STRENGTH, not weakness. But I could be wrong about that.

    I realize this is needlessly nit-picky and entirely irrelevant, but... "trounces" does not do justice to how that round went between Luna and Fluttershy. "Survives" or "Outlasts" would have been a better word. That was the Rumble in the Jungle. The Thrilla in Manilla. Every bit as epic as AJ-Derpy. Had the voting ended an hour earlier or an hour later Flutters might have won. (She was up 49-48, until Luna got the last three votes.) But I suppose that doesn't matter much... regardless, whether I'm ready to or not I must bid a fond yet sad farewell to my favoritest pony forever in this tournament.
