Starlight's many things, but "Mary Sue" ain't one of them. Despite knowing a lot about magic and being a very powerful unicorn, she has or had some enormous character flaws, such as relying on magic to solve problems all the time, anger issues, a lack of self-confidence in S6, concluding without understanding the full context (like trading Trixie's wagon without knowing how attached she is to it), or becoming a little too selfless sometimes.
