      I don't write, I create music, but I feel the same principles apply. That's all I've been doing today is just listening to music, trying to find some ideas.

      Sadly though, it hasn't been helping. To some degree, right now it feels like I''m obligated to create music, instead of just something I do for fun. I have a feeling that's where the source of it is coming from.

      Oh yeah, if you feel like you HAVE to create then you won't get anywhere. In that case it might be best to just step away from it all for a couple of days and just go do fun things.

      I just mess around with the notes. Maybe play some chords.

       

      Here's something I do: During the day I come up with random melodies in my head (Pretty much 65% of my music is based off of things I come up with while in the shower). I write the notes of these in a notepad so I can remember it.

       

      Maybe that'll help.
