I remember seeing an extremely detailed post on the matter in a topic that has apparently since been closed somewhere on these forums a month or so ago but I reloaded the page and he had edited it to a one sentence line that said...

Oh, I can doubt it. I can doubt in the existence of an afterlife (like I currently do). I can doubt the existence of gods and unicorns, but I have no reason to assume I'm correct, when there's no solid evidence.

something along the lines of "Once your brain shuts off, you're done for". Wish I would have saved it before he edited it but the point is, scientifically, when you die you're gone forever.
