  1. You just gave me the idea for a pretty good episode. Imagine if Rarity brought along Applejack for a trip to Manehattan, and during the trip, the two meet Applejack's more sophisticated side of the family tree: The Oranges. Rarity gets to enjoy hanging out with the Oranges, but their presence and possibly condescending attitude gets on Applejack's nerves.
  2. Or she may go on to make a team of elite flyers of her own that manages to be on par with or surpass the Wonderbolts. Either way, it won't be a surprise if she does become the new Wonderbolts leader. Truth be told, I can probably imagine the dreams of most of the Mane 6. Twilight: Become a researcher of magic that develops new spells and ultimately guides the new generation of Equestrians towards a bright future. Rainbow Dash: Become the captain of the Wonderbolts and create a team capable of properly protecting Equestria from harm. Rarity: Become the greatest fashionista of Equestria and retire in peace with one that she can call her significant other. Fluttershy: Befriend all animals of Equestria and, ultimately, create the first complete encyclopedia of all of Equestria's creatures (including Dragons). Admittedly, the dreams of Pinkie Pie and Applejack are still a total mystery to me (does anyone find it weird that it's the Earth Ponies that don't have a clear goal in mind?). Perhaps Applejack would eventually want to make life flourish outside of Equestria's borders. I really don't know.
  3. It also bothers me that none of the staff want to make any strides towards declaring the comics canon or non-canon. btw, does anyone else get the impression that Rainbow Dash could've also taken Twilight's role as the titular character? I don't know why, but she just seems to have a special something about her that makes her stand out as a main character. Maybe its her aspiration to join the Wonderbolts or her element of loyalty, but she really strikes me as a leader type like Twilight, albeit not as smart. Twilight and RD just make a good "brains & brawns" combo to me.
  4. I'm pretty sure that the comics are passed off as pseudo-canon, meaning that while they could be counted as canon, the events have little impact on the events of the show and won't be referenced in the show, so they could be considered non-canon. The comics are more like a bit of flavor text for those that are interested in that sort of thing.
  5. I have some problems with Discord just straightly locking the rest of the Mane 6 in the cage, especially considering his link to Fluttershy. It would've been very touching if Discord were to hide Fluttershy or if it turned out that the Fluttershy in the cage was a dummy conjured by Discord. He was already starting to have his doubts back at Canterlot.
  6. Also have to take skill sets into consideration. Tirek may be able to absorb magic, but Twilight can use teleportation to get in his blind spots. Tirek has tremendous physical strength and could manipulate the earth, but Twilight had the power of flight and could potentially use her magic to alter the environment as well (maybe freeze the ground beneath Tirek so that he has zero traction to make use of his strength or barriers at 100%.). We could vouch that Twilight could've lost due to a lack of experience with her new powers, but she seems to be a quick study. It's hard to tell where the battle would go.
  7. My hopes: Somepony (or someponies) will attempt to uproot the Tree of Harmony for fear of it or the Rainbow Power being too OP for Equestrians to rest easy. Luna being given the refurbished Castle of the Two Sisters as a birthday present on the premise that she's very fond of the Everfree Forest and that she's now the only princess without a castle of her own. The existence of a Tree of Disharmony that mirrors the Tree of Harmony. The reveal of characters that will become agents of the Tree of Disharmony throughout Season 5 (provided that a Tree of Disharmony does exist). A debut by Scorpan at the beginning of Season 5 (probably because he sensed Tirek's presence). The Mane 6 being able to use their Rainbow Power individually (albeit not at full power) to enhance their own abilities or the Rainbow Power being revealed to grant a stronger life force to its holders.
  8. Yeah, but I think that requires a conscious effort on his part. He can counter it by absorbing it, but he can't do it immediately, especially when it's fired with such a high density and quantity as Twilight's laser beams during the fight.
  9. I think we can officially say that the Tree of Harmony is the MLP equivalent of "God" and the holder of the elements are that "God's" super-powered agents. Next season, we'll probably find out that there is a Tree of Disharmony and that its agents want to destroy the Tree of Harmony.
  10. Yeah, I suppose it would've been boring as part of a finale. At the very most, if it was a finale, it would probably be a case of someone stirring bad blood between the towns in order to gain an opportunity to steal the Crystal Heart.
  11. I feel your pain. It does feel like a bit of a waste that all this build-up was done for the games, yet at the end of it all, it's just another episode. The same argument could also be given for the Grand Galloping Gala, but I guess that could be more forgivable since it was Season 1. Either way, this episode, kind of like the Grand Galloping Gala, left me feeling a little empty inside.
  12. What sort of mad world are we living in for there to be 2 Spike episodes in a row that are good?!
  13. Dave Polsky's last episode for the season. Can he keep his hot streak going?
  14. Well, I'm going to have nightmares about this episode. Much more frightening nightmares than what Scootaloo had in "Sleepless in Ponyville". This episode was just some kind of dark. The idea of a pony only wanting to make a worthwhile contribution, but soon becoming drunk with power, and all because of the generosity and kindness of another friend. I know the writers said that Rarity had the most potential to be a villain, but this was just too much...and yet, I enjoyed every bit of it. I can only imagine how Twilight and her friends will act once they receive the gift in the box. That's some more nightmare in a compressed can waiting to open.
