Hello there, my crowd! Welcome to my Weekly Musings: Orange Edition.
[I ❤ JAPAN] -- [I ❤ THE COLOR RED] -- [I ❤ CELESTIA]
So much data to process, my crowd! Let's talk about it.
The biggest thing that happened this week was HALLOWEEN!
I had fun! I saved candy just for that day. Not too much; just enough to have a fun cheat day. It landed on the weekend, which is perfect because that's when I prefer to have my cheat days. I tried a Pumpkin Spice Latte for the first time and loved it! I don't care how basic that makes me, I will be going back for more! And for the most part, I did everything I wanted to do. I even took a personal day off on Sunday just to do some more things that I wanted to do personally.
But the holiday is not met without some bad news. Sean Connery is dead; RIP. One of my commonly used pair of shoes is falling apart. A game I had started had to be canceled due to lack of interest... But that pretty much covers all the bad stuff that happened this week!
One of the major reasons why I spend most of Sunday offline is because I was celebrating with my family!
For those that don't know, one of my uncles has been holding down a crappy job that gives him almost no free time, but he got offered a better job. We thought that he wouldn't be able to switch over until December. However, because the pandemic has affected business in many ways, they are speeding up the employment process. Meaning, he'll be switching jobs midway through November. YAY!
Oh MY, this has been a huge week for Tokusatsu! So much to cover... In an unexpected twist, Kamen Rider Gaim is getting another Gaiden special (Yay! More Gaim!! My favorite Rider!). Surprisingly, the original Gridman series is coming to YouTube! In celebration of the bluray release in Japan, episode 1 is up with English subs. Not only does this mean the show will be more widely available than it previously was, but this increases the chances of Gridman getting a physical release in the states as well. Speaking of streaming, Agito will soon be coming to a streaming platform near you, and Shout! Factory seems to be partnering with Mill Creek to bring more Ultraman titles to their streaming platform. It's so glad to hear so much good news after a long break of silence. With Power Rangers coming under new management, let's hope they'll eventually let Shout! Factory start releasing uncut Super Sentai again someday soon. Maybe next year?
Renovations are still going smoothly. The bathroom in the rental property is coming along quickly. As for my mother's next door neighbor, for a moment I began to think maybe they got busy with other things again. But they've been appearing and doing stuff to take care of that house, so hopefully renovations on that will pick up as well.
I decided to go ahead and schedule that last operation. And I do mean last; because I can't do anything more after this. I am doing this because I've been having a pain in my side for a few days in a row, and I wasn't expecting continuous pain like that. The only way I'd do more operations is if they told me I had a tumor or something; which I doubt is the case. I'm getting that CT Scan, and I'll be going in on Friday. Wish me luck, everyone. I really, really, REALLY want this to be the end of it.
And finally, I am fully caught up on S2 of Rise of the TMNT.
Let's review the episodes I saw... Oh, awesome! A series of connected vignettes, starting with Donnie working through feelings of inadequacy next to magic. Raph’s mistaken-identity story is better simply due to a better action scene (and a cameo from the original TMNT voice actors, no less!). The fellow fathers moment between Baron and Splinter was pretty cool, and I like Baron’s new suit. The living hair story with Leo was lame, but at least it explained how they all got out of that situation. Didn’t really need a Karate Kid episode. Mezmer-Ron is becoming just as awesome a villain as Mad Mod. We need more episodes like Battle Nexus New York. And in the next episode, Karai is related to the Turtles, and the Foot Clan’s founder might share some lineage with the Hamato clan, and real Japanese stuff, and the Shredder is a real threat at last, and just WHAT?! And then, there was the finale... Yeah, I can see why people want more of this show. I do too. Not even going to spoil it; I can't even talk about it using only one sentence. If you were on the fence with this show before, this finale should be the thing that finally convinces you to see it and give it a chance. I am sorry it took this long to get here, but I am glad it finally got here.
Saber 08: King of Sabers!
I expected some things from this episode because of people spoiling things on the internet. I expected a giant King Arthur robot; but I wasn’t expecting Saber himself to become a sword. I was suddenly getting flashbacks to Decade's Final Form Ride shenanigans. With all the talk of previous swordsmen that have fallen in the past, I am surprised they didn’t kill Buster while he was turned to stone. Was it suppose to be a hostage situation; the King of Arthur book for the safe return of Buster? Either way, thrilling episode, and a great cameo appearance to promote the new Gaim Gaiden special coming out that I am very excited about~!
Kiramager 29: A New Spinel on Royalty!
Now that was an episode worth the wait! Did not expect another Kiramei Stone; nor the revival of the king! That fight scene was way more epic than I was expecting. Basically, this episode really made up for the slow burn from the last episode. Seeing the King act like a big troll at the end was the perfect cherry on top. ...Does this count as a Pink Ranger episode? Her character song played as the ED theme, but everyone contributed equally in this episode.
That's all for now, my crowd.
Take care, and let's bring in some good tidings.
I am getting old, my crowd. I'm 36, and I just don't collect toys and collectibles like I use to. Sometimes I think about it if a show or something really connects with me, but I'm super selective these days. However, these look like toys I would want to buy even today. They are like a perfect halfway point between Legos, toys, and model kits. Not too complicated that only certain people can enjoy them; but not too open-ended that people like me would get lost and unable to exercise their creativity. Best of luck to your uncle, let's hope he has everything sorted out by november as promised.
I don't know much about anything of kamen rider.
But it does seem like good news so... hooray!
I remember my dad renovating the house he now lives in, it took him around a year but it looks perfect. Seems like things are going smoothly for you so another hooray.
Dang, hope the pain isn't horrible. Cheering for you over here man, hope there aren't more problems. Remember to be positive, more than that, be 100% confident on your recuperation like I do.
Nah, you're not old. If my father of 52 doesn't feel old you aren't either. You're just in another stage of life which you need to enjoy at its fullest. You have changed, and when you embrace change it becomes a beautiful thing.

Thanks! But it's just a scan, nothing too major. I'll be fine when I get home. On Friday, I'll be posting, and you'll hardly notice I was gone.
Thanks for making me feel young, my friend.
