  1. The hardest part about doing the right thing is that people who should normally be on your side will hate you for it.

      Ain't that the truth. :worry:

It's like some will only do the right thing if it'll make them look good or when/if it's convenient for them. :yeahno:

      I love this quote. :)
"Soon we must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy." – Albus Dumbledore

Also, true story: When I was at the self-checkout at Kroger one time, there was an older guy next to me. He finished before I did, and I noticed he left his change behind. It wasn't some coins, it was several bills. Before he exited the store, I gave him his change he left behind. Now, I could've kept the change, but that wouldn't be the right thing to do.

Not trying to come off as smug about it, I'm just sharing a true story. :adorkable:

Doing what's right isn't always easy, but it is the test of our true character.
We are told that there are days where we won't always get a reward, but no one warns us that others might hate us for what we do. Still, someone has to do the right thing. if not, things are destined to only get worse.

I like to think that eventually, people will fully understand your actions. They might not understand right away, but by the time they do, they'll wish they could have been a nicer person to you. But then again, that might be the true test of friendship. Who's still got your back when no one else does? How strong should your standards be? No one can answer these questions for you. The answers come with experience.

One of the best lessons I think I've ever learned is to learn to dig a little deeper. There might be more to someone than what's on the surface. Try to find that. Be careful not to invade anyone's personal space, of course. You don't want to intrude too deeply, nor would you want to put yourself at risk. Still, if we can do our best to dig a little deeper and see people for who they truly are, then you'll find all the answers you need. You'll have an easier time connecting to those who are truly good people, you'll know who to be careful of, you'll know who has truly changed and who has truly stayed the same, etc.

...Am I reading too deep into this post? Am I completely off point? :derp:
