    This afternoon, I received word that my Dad's mother and my last surviving Grandparent had passed away.

    She was 87 years old and in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's disease. There was very little left of her cognitive functions, and I'm told that she passed very suddenly and peacefully.

    While my heart grieves for her loss, I can't help but feel a sense of comfort that she is finally at peace and free from that terrible disease. It honestly hurt more to see her as she was.

    Rest in Peace, Grandma. You're in a better place now.

      I'm sorry to hear that. I lost my last grandparent last year. It's never easy. My prayers will be with you and your family.

      Thank you for your kind words, everyone. I really do appreciate it. It's never easy to go through, no matter how much you think you've accepted it. But I was blessed to know her for as long as I did.

      She lives on through those memories. :)
