Welcome to the forums! I'm not very good at words sometimes, but I'll try to explain as best as I can...
I've felt very depressed within the last year or so as a result of a number of factors (some of them being ones you said, like lack of friends and my own introversion.) I think the fandom has helped me out a lot too, and it makes sense if you think about it; Friendship is Magic is all about how to make friends, and how to be kind, which is reflected in the fans of the show. All of them? No, but mean people are everywhere, regardless of where you are, this fandom being no exception. But, I think we have the most abundance of caring people. How many other fandoms do you know that have a large groups that help charity organizations like Bronies for Good does? It may just be me, but I can't count a single one. I've seen (at the very least) a good 5-6 posts in these forums along the lines of "Complement the User Above You!" or "Rate How Much You Like the User Above You!" If that doesn't say something, I dunno what does.
Long story short, you've come to the right place.
BIG misconception I see with those who have attempted or talked about committing suicide is that they say they're "too wimpy" to go through with it.
This is wrong. Dead wrong. The only thing this proves is how strong you are. Being able to deny yourself of this action is an act of strength, not cowardice. You don't see it yet, but you have a fulfilling life ahead of you. Cutting it off now would be no good.
You're a living being. You'll go through some hardships, some "unconquerable" mountains, times that seem too dire to come back from, but no matter what, you have to strive on.
We're a giant, loving community here at the MLPForums (and anyone else who says otherwise is wrong) and we're here to welcome you with open arms. I'm personally kinda still new to the forums (I've been on for about two months-ish), so I don't know every nook and cranny of this place, but if I recall correctly, there are places to vent and to seek help (and while I'd recommend seeking help from a professional, I know that costs and the stigma can be a little overwhelming.)
Again, hope your welcome to the forums is warm, that you find the help you need and many good friends, and that your stay on the forums is a pleasant one. Have a nice day!
