  1. 15-16 seems a bit young for such advanced studies in magic and becoming a princess. She being the same age as when AJ went to Manehatten is highly improbable, unless AJ had severe growth problems. In the episodes, you can clearly see the size difference between both. Plus, girls generally stop growing towards age 16-17, and having that much growth in one or two years is a tad bit too fast.
  2. So, after receiving quality feedback from my last thread, I'm posting a new one for you guys to tell me how the second chapter is going. The fanfic is called "Symphony of Steel", and set in the first Equestrian war opposing Lunar and Solar forces and their allies. It follows a tank crew in the battle of Canterlot and the Saddle Arabian campaign. The first chapter happens in Canterlot in the present, and the second happens two years earlier in Saddle Arabia when the final crew just met. The whole fic will be alternating chapters between the crew's past and present, to give a better backstory telling with less useless exposition. Both chapters attached below, to fix the "notepad" format thingy just click format and choose word wrap. So, how is my fic going? Is it less "chunky" and more fluid? Is it detailed? Are the characters well designed? Does it need additional changes? Let me know! SoS Chapt I.txt SoS Chapt II.txt
  3. Not really apparent bullying, but a subtle, invisible bullying that professional bullies use in highschool. Being rejected when you ask a question, being rejected from going in their groups, it's so subtle that you kinda feel that it's your fault. Just forget about it and play some video games. Also got bullied during primary school. People calling me names because I was practically the only guy named Martin in my whole class. Stopped in 6th grade. Everybody told me I was overreacting, and looking back on it, they were right. It did have a positive impact on my life actually. Now, I rarely even get affected at all when people insult me.
  4. Then I guess she's younger than she looks like, Although it is still possible there's a 1 or 2 years difference. The school in Ponyville doesn't seem to have separation by grades, which is common in many rural schools.
  5. Well maybe not. Cherilee would be older than Rarity, as going from substitute to full time teacher takes some time. My music teacher had to spend 14 years replacing other teachers to get his spot. I would place Cherilee at maybe 30-34, as she seems young enough. Some people don't get married before this age now, as they prefer to have a stable economic situation before founding a family.
  6. Leopard I and II. The current one is the II, which we use here in Canada.
  7. Yes, the sloped armor on the T-34 gave it a much higher effective armor thickness than other similar tanks, like the Panzer IV. After realizing they needed sloped armor after the first Tiger, the Nazis produced the Panther and Tiger II which made much more extensive use of sloped and a little rounded armor.
  8. T-50, used it before. Christie tank/BT series also had it. The T-50 was basically a BT tank with a T-34 body.
  9. Well what other word would you want me to use? I used best designed, not best ever to see other people's opinion. I also didn't want to compare them to a professional of any kind just like that. Weapons are judged differently, and as I said before, depending on someone's priorities, their opinion on the best ones will differ. Someone who puts an accent on precision and kill-death ratio will like tanks like the Tiger series or the post-war Challengers, who are costly to build but make formidable weapons. Someone who thinks that a weapon should be built to only be used and built faster would like cheaper all-round tanks like the M4 Sherman and the T-34 better. There really isn't a single charter on "The best weapon ever", just opinions.
  10. Which panzer? There was the PanzerKampfWagen I, II, III, IV, V, VI and VIII, with the first ones having something like 5 different models, the PanzerBefehlsWagen command thanks, the PanzerSpahWagens, not to mention the other conversions like the recovery tanks and ammo carriers, &c. &c. &c.
  11. Actually, if it were according to horse lifespan, it would roughly mean the mane 6 are from age 35 to 60.
  12. @@Alto still, having 15 years old own businesses is a little overpowered. https://www.google.ca/search?q=horse+lifespan&oq=horse+lifespan&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.1963j0j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8 Some stuff on horses' lifespans. It usually ranges from 20 to 30 years at its best.
  13. But several situations like SB's 5th birthday and the candles on RD's cake point towards the ponies in MLP aging like humans instead of horses. It would seem they are covered in a thinner or thicker fur, like when Snips and Snails got their fur ripped off.
  14. EQG is undoubtedly canon, but the humane 6's ages may not be. Almost nothing is linked between them and the mane 6 except their names and personalities. Even then, few (if not none) girls in their mid teens own their own fashion boutique and create world renowned clothes, nor do they become the head of their family, and even less compete in olympic games and are prime recruits for their local aerobatics team.
  15. Well they seem to be able to write complete and sophisticated journal scoops, understand basic chemistry, magic and mechanics, stuff that would be a tad bit complicated for 8 years old, and more in reach for 11-12 years old.
  16. Wow you really want to jam your headcanon into our heads don't you? This here is debating we're supposed to do here, not "I'm always right and only listen to me". Button Mash is a fan made animation, so not cannon. Nothing prove that he is the same age as the CMC, and nothing proves they're ageless. At least 1 year has passed in the show for the mane 6, and 1 year isn't that apparent,
  17. I'm not sure to understand what you're saying. Maybe reformulate it? As for Firestorm, he's heavily injured when the tank is hit by a rocket, hence why he's gotta be evacuated. Well I could give you a draft of the fic or write a more intricate description if you want more info. And I really don't watch Star Trek, so I guess it's kind of a coincidence they got to be that way... To create the characters, I just found them a backstory first, then kind of simulated how they would react to the main events that happened before the fics to get an idea of how they will be during it,
  18. Well it's the basic "super team" you have. Charismatic leader, second in command with personality which differs from the leader, though guy, team's brain and the chick. I was worrying that Silver fell into the leader, Whirlwind into the anti-leader, Firestorm as potentially being the though guy, Focus being obviously the brains and Blitzkrieg being the chick. As for the commander, lobotomy was a common practice for people who had mental illness back then, including PTSD. He was supposed to have PTSD as the symptoms of the previous war, but that put many problems in for the fic, including finding why he would still be fighting instead of just being in an asylum, which was the second option for people with mental illness before we went more in depth with psychology.
  19. I've been going on TV Tropes lately to get a better idea of how I should write to prevent clichés, and it stroked me that my 5 main characters, who are a tank crew, in my fanfic looked really like they had the "5 man band" trope. -There's Silver Streak, tank commander. Served in the last war, and had a lobotomy after it, making him devoid of any emotions. Just thinks very rationally, and is very focused on keeping his crew and his platoon alive. - Blitzkrieg is the gunner. Pegasi mare who grew up in the ruins of Cloudsdale, is missing a wing. She has a more positive perspective of life than most of the crew. Familiar with machines. -Focus Point is the radio operator. He considers the morality of his actions a little bit more than the rest of his crew (even though they all know that what they do isn't necessarily right), and is a little more experienced in mechanics, like Blitzkrieg. -Whirlwind is the driver. Oldest member of the crew after Silver Streak. He's got a fair amount of experience in combat, and likes to joke about it and his past stories. Even though he isn't that pessimistic, he has a cynical view of the "ponies above" who command them. -Firestorm is the loader, didn't develop him that much as he's only seen bleeding heavily and being evacuated in the beginning of the fic. So, I would have 2 questions for you guys: 1) Are my characters too similar to the ones of the five man band trope? 2) Even if they are or not, would there be any way to make them more interesting or are they just fine this way and why? If you need more info feel free to ask me questions.
  20. Those are actually very close to some research done on this forum. Most of the research centers the Mane 6's ages around 19-27 years old.
  21. I just saw the teaser for episode 100, and I gotta say that having Octavia have a strong British accent was way too predictable and deceiving. Do you guys think she would be better off with a more East European accent?
  22. No advanced warfare on my laptop, only good old WW2 armored and aerial warfare on War Thunder. The only problems we have are some noobs who don't know anything about WW2 coming here lately as the playerbase is growing bigger. It's the kind of people who wonder why they get one-shotted by 88mm guns in their M4A1 tank.
  23. They're nice tanks, but they were way too slow for them to be effective, compared to other heavy tanks like the M4A3E2 Sherman Jumbo and the IS series. I think the Panthers would be a better choice for WW2 German tanks.
