Recently, a drunken podcast and two hours later, my ring of MLP loving saps and I sobered up enough to listen to the cast and found it rather enthralling how deep it go. It is well know the mane girls have character flaws. Dashie has a learning disability. Fluttershy clearly has anixity if not mental issues. Rarity is the element of generosity because is the is the epitome of vanity and truely only believes she can help others because she is so perfect. But what about more subtle ones? The core of sadness that effects every-single thing Pinkie pie does? Giving herself Rim-shots, the always mentioned party of one, having a solo party in her tiny camp out tent waiting for cider, the dopple ganger who always is around to cheer her on or put her down. And AJ? (ok this one is going to piss off ALOT of people.) But it came up she might, as well as her kin, be inbred. WOAH! Calm your manes, and just listen. Gem, one of our casters, comes from deep Virginia. She is very thick in her drawl and has known others that can talk to you for an hour and not understand a single word. But as the show goes on, she is convinced there is something more to AJ and the Apple crew. The stubbornness they all show, might be showing the lack of the ability just to flat out UNDERSTAND the situation. The pure disdain her "family" the Oranges had for AJ's folks, you mount your cousin you might cause some rifts in the gene pool. This one is a bit rough and very offensive to consider, but she did bring up a few good points. Twilights perfection mentality. The ala chip on the shoulder. We ranted at LENGTH about the SSTB spell she cast (finally managed to I mean...) at the end of season 3. I for one believed it was Celestia who raised her to Alicorn status as a "reward" much like Hercules becoming a full god after his 12 trials. Romeo however says no, in fact it was her INTENT to use the spell to super sailor moon up to stop the foes she couldnt stop without it. Lesser ones caused by drunk humor. Fluttershy a "Furry?" that sure is one way to "tame" a bear? Rarity as best BI? Can't claim this one as ours, its Lily Pets from youtube, we all got a kick out of a 1/5 of vodka and his/her latest "Glass of water" video about this exact subject. Long drawn out post short, is it these flaws that draw us to the girls? It would have been easy to make them the Sailor Scouts...well untill the 4 demons from the hell showed up (Thanks outer rim murdering physcos.....I LOVE YOU SETSUNA !!)

I am waiting for her to sacrifice herself saving Flurry heart in the Season 6 finale. There are two few episodes left, 3 of which are confirmed Spike episodes :shudder: for her to get any real character development. She is gonna get forced into a "throw myself into a beam of...something" and then be reborn/healed/magiced up by FH's insanely un-measured powers, and THEN truely, understand friendship. A bit dark? Says the little girl show WITH A FREAKING DRAGON BALL Z/FIST OF THE NORTH STAR FIGHT???!

I would champion a "flash back" to her in mid pregnance scene, during the season 6 finale which clearly is going to features Flurry Heart. (You can't get away with her being in the opening and not have her be the center of the Finale!) And while we are at it! Lets get that time travel scope back in here! Lets see a FUTURE form of FH show up to be the word of reason just like Twilight did all thoses seasons ago. The fans would go nuts at that reference. And then lets get Starlight to sacrifice herself, because lets be honest, your first 16 episodes of this season trying too show her "grow" or "change" was done better in Sunset in 3 MINUTES! While we are scripting out the finale, lets get a Princess Tia and Lulu filly flash back, getting a warning from Starswirl! Do all this, and you can go into your 7th and final season (my guess the show will end with the film which comes out in Nov, a perfect time period for one more season to lead up to it).

The whole shipping two characters and combining names or titles to show a union...has really made me stop and think. I was just at MLP MSP, sporting my Male Aria cosplay, and I found it super enthralling just how common we use shipping names instead of just saying the two characters names. Just found that interesting.)

You mean the same exact way they feel whenever they have a character in a new outfit, and thus find a million fan pictures of it being sexified? Yes, to some, many actually, a pregnant female is a beatiful thing, I will even go on to say some find it "hot". But tell met he difference between Candy butt getting a prego bump, AND AJ making out with an apple (you forgot about that slow juice drip scene, didnt you...I won't forget, the internet wont forget!) Here is my final statement. I am a grown man of 30 and I am a proud member of this community. But I am also a adult that realizes when I am being talked down too. If you go an entire season (mostly) with the hype train of Candy butt being prego, then just have a magic baby appear. That is just like talking about how great Pokemon go! is going to be, then have it be complete crap (it isnt!). Why push this issue? For the exact reason you have stated (its too adult, it makes kids ask questions, etc) ........How is that not the entire point of this series! To educate children, give them morals. I would love a scene with Princess lawn dart being called fat by a filly when she is clearly pregnant, only for that filly to learn she is carrying life! I have SEEN this happen irl at the store or the mall or whatever, children dont know, that doesnt mean you should hide it from them. Long rant short, this was lazy writting and I have come to expect alot towards the writting of this show.

That being said they know when to drop the Trixie bomb, they know when to spray the Luna canon (Where is my Celestia/Luna flash back episode with them as fillies!!!!!!!!!!!!). Actually you can go on youtube and listen to all the Dazzling songs with the other two filtered out. Having just finished watching the versions where it is just Aria or Just Sonata, I can tell you, Sonata is low and Aria is oddly high. This isnt exactly un common, many singers have a different pitch when in full chorus.

Ok honestly, why do I feel like I am the only Brony here who is talking about this!? All season all I have heard is Starlight this, and Starlight that! But lets get down to the real core issue with her, shall we?! ..........She is Aria blaze in a bad disquise! HA! NAILED IT! Winner, me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok no, for realzies, why are they nearly the exact same skin tone and mane color? (mostly) hell, Starlight as a foal HAD PIG TAILS! Kinda like someone else we know...cough cough!!!!!!!!

The major twist... She was Aria blazes bastard daughter all along!!! (ignore the siren/pony genetic traits! THEY LOOK ALMOST EXACTLY ALIKE....COME ON!) The difference between Starlight and Sunset is, Starlight never made me ball my eyes out and sob like a spoiled girl on her 16th birthday when no one showed up. Sunset to this DAY has one of the single most powerful and moving scenes I have ever seen at the end of RR. Startlight, meh. She is fine, I guess...but why does she have to look EXACTLY like best Siren?! Aria, notice me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any episode from S1 at this point. And before you flame, let me just say trying to compare something like the interactions between Rarijack from season 1, to more modern ones are night and day. They are acting like an old married couple now! Compare that to Sleepless in ponyville, different kettle of fish. Or look at a character like Spike. In season 1 he had a purpose, now he doesnt even send letters anymore but is a hero in two different towns!! At least ol Shining Armor is still the same beach bum we know and love.

So was I the only to get all butt hurt by not seeing a foal bump at some point? I mean horses are pregnant for almost an entire YEAR. Your going to sit there and tell me that she just hide away in the palace for 11 months? Now before the flames start, the reason for asking this is just a simple time table. Not seeking controversy, deviant art links, or attention seeking devices. It just seems so odd we can re-animate Startlights mane style, but we couldnt get a Candy butt gut.

I like how both her and Sunset have connections to what they used to be. Both are trying, but as we have seen Starlight can still slip into manipulator mode. Sunset can still fall victim to her anger issues. Frankly I enjoy all of the characters and there flaws (Rarity is still best pony...come on S6 finale with Midnight Rarity!!!) FIM is an amazing show and unless the writers start doing massive amounts of drugs, the other 5 seasons have done plenty in giving a stable background for our girls to fall back upon when it comes to character development. The real issue? ....when am I getting my damn Sea Ponies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Equestrian Coast guard, hhhhhhhooooooooooooooooooooo!

Also considering Babs is the only filly on the show with a different figure (not counting Snips). Be sick as hell to see her show up as a tough girl with a tank shop showing off some muscle.

Better question, where is my Human Gilda? You know, the one who runs the gang that the Sirens ended up joining for survival that secretly has Trixie and her cronies spying on the girls at chs............DONT JUDGE MY HEAD CANON!
